they arent really piercing grade plastics or metals.
and acrylics are just shitty in my opinion.

take your girl to a piercing studio and get her some opalite plugs.
goldstones are nice too. black goldstone and blue goldstone are some of my favorites. those and jade. its really about quality for me.
i only have like four sets of plugs, i payed anywhere from 20 bucks to 40 bucks for each pair, but i know that they wont harm my body or irritate the shit out of my skin.
glass, and surgical grade stainless steel are really the only thing outside of organics that i wear, and would recommend anyone wear. unless they are wearing silicone in a hole they have had for a while and is fully healed up.
i think that you will find your holes happier.

my piercer said that he has only seen that happen like three times.
anyone have any idea as to why?
she was a smoker, but that is the majority of the people who come through.
my thought was that it was because she just had a baby and her body was still in baby-carrying mode and being defensive. but i was wondering if any other piercers had this situation happen, or know what it could be that causes this.

you will be ok, you can do it, you could probably push your ears to 12g, most people start with 12g. but its all on if your body wants to accept it. but you could def slide them 18g in without a problem, man.

So I just tried putting 14g hoops in my ears

Or at least the left one. Bled like a bitch and virtually grew together right after I took it out. And the hoop wouldn't even BEGIN to go in the right one. So I put the old studs back in, and pretty much had to FORCE the fucker through my bleeding, tender left ear.

when you can see room when you pull on it, you are ready for the next size.
from the initial piercing you should have waited atleast a month for it to be healed. if you have not then this is why you have bled. it isnt fully healed.

Or at least the left one. Bled like a bitch and virtually grew together right after I took it out. And the hoop wouldn't even BEGIN to go in the right one. So I put the old studs back in, and pretty much had to FORCE the fucker through my bleeding, tender left ear.

i have had more or less no trouble with my ears except when i was a jack ass and went up 4mm at once ..other than that stretching them has been a piece of cake,putting new plugs in is nothing it just slips in now. im almost at my goal of an inch ,unfortunately the plug i hope to get at that size costs a bit over 60$ egh.. but i might as well spend good money on good plugs.so yeah good luck to anyone else stretching just take it slow and don't rush..cos it hurts like hell trying to pull a tunnel from a swollen infected hole.

well if it's the price of the jewelery you're worried about, check out ebay. they have plenty of cheap jewelery, brand new. and i wouldn't even do 14 to 10. i mean, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but still. what size are you looking to get to? but yeah, if you were to go from 14 to 10, you must know, that it's going to hurt like a mother fucking whore, maybe even not possible.

the smaller the gauge jumps(more than one size), the less likely you are to ruin your ears, but it hurts like a fuck.
the larger the gauge jumps(again, more than one size), the easier they fit in, the more of a (definite) chance you have of ruining your ears.

as good as any other. it's acrylic just like any plugs you'll see a normal joe wearing (well not any normal joe, but you know what i'm talking about). only catch with that, is that there's one taper for each size, and there's a pair of plugs for each size. so that you got figure out on your own homie lulz.

but shit, to be honest, you don't really need a taper. baby oil is just as good if your ear is completely healed and read to move up one size only. but what i used to do is stretch with the taper, have the plug of the same size right on the edge of the taper, all oiled up and shit, and it slipped right through. but yeah, like i was saying, if your ears were healed up enough, some baby oil and the next size plug would do just as good.

i used to rock the tunnels all day long.

When mine got infected I used to wash it a few times a day with anti-bacterial soap. I have 12 ear piercings, and whenever one got infected thats what I'd do. It dries your ear out pretty good.

Eh, I was always told not to use peroxide on my piercings for some reason...I never did still to this day. When I got my belly button and nose done I would mix a tbs of sea salt in with a little bit of water and it always worked like a charm to help it heal up...but for the gauges I would just keep them nice and clean...cause they stink like rotting stretching flesh haha, and it reduces the chance of infection as well.

It's because peroxide or any form of alcohol dries out the felshy 'wound' and cracks the healing skin, allowing bacteria into the opening.

That's why they tell you not to drink when you have an oral piercing. Especially beer, because the bacteria carries yeast in with it and you get a yeast infection. (My old problem)

I never had a problem with kissing.

Initially, my bar was too short and it embedded in my lip. It also took a good while to learn how to eat without catching it on my lower teeth and ripping it upwards, but you naturally learn how to eat differently after a while. As for drinking, stay away from beer and you'll probably be alright. I drank tequila and vodka after I had it pierced, but once I started downing the beers, I was fucked. Had a big bubbly white ball grow around the barbell, nothing was working, so I ended up biting it off. And it actually went away and haven't had a problem with it since,

go to bodyjewelz.com they have the sizes in mm and in gauge and plugs go from like 50 cents to a couple dollars... hella cheap but you have to order a minimum of 100$ i think... its worth it though if your willing to invest

0 to 00 is easy, it's only a millimeter jump, you don't even need tapers.

also to the dude talking about how he stretched to 5/8 and they look awful without jewelry, they look bad because they were 5/8. i really don't think the speed you stretched affected how they look no. the point of no return on healing stretched piercings is like 2 or 0, after that your ears will always look stretchy and kind of gross. 5/8 is pretty far past that.

It's not infected- It was for a while, but it's alright now. It's just taking a million years to heal. I mean it's red, like raw, like right after you get it pierced.

It doesn't hurt very much to change the jewelry, (I've changed it three times since I went to 14. Once with the tapers, then with plugs, and the horseshoes I have in now) but it's still not like, completely healed I guess. So I don't know if I should stretch again this weekend or not.
