My experiences in the tat world is...

-not a very good long term career because most tat artist develop carpal tunnel-probably because they have to delicately hold a motorized needle for numerous hours.

-the 'ink' culture in general has more "snobby" people than grafitti so to be accepted and not considered a "toy" takes a long time-and all old schoolers keep thier secrets/techniques on lock down.

-drawing something on paper is not even close to inking skin

-designing tats is cool if you get some chet from it.

-after YEARS of developing some kind of skill it takes a while to settle into a regular paying gig and if you have ever had a "home shop" you will most likely be shunned. Most parlours hate underground shops because of sterile procedures.

-sometimes you get to see woman's privates :lol: but not all ladies are hot-remember that grandmas get tatwork too. :(

-you will HATE tribal designs considering that most apprentices get stuck doing them all the time.

-if you don't have people skillz then you'll hate your job because ideally you're forced to sociallize with people while you give them a tat, and take into consideration that some people are getting really stupid work done. "I would like a taz devil with a lacrosse stick please, oh and maybe a canadian flag too."

-your tat flash work on someone is cool and an honor, someone elses drawings that you have to tat on someone is bunk-especially if you have to do some toyish design.

-if you can't draw a life like portrait don't expect to make it look good by transfering and shading-portraits are hard to do.

Sometimes its all one tattoo with lots of different things in it done in many sessions or it can be a few existing tattoos with a background or whatever you want to fill it in. Its pretty much whatever you want to do. word tattoos are fun i take pride in mine, also with ym surface pericings/ body mod specialist i try to make him as much money as i can and i make him a few hundred everytime i go up there plus get him away from doing normal pericings to keep him entertained and for that i always get super cheap shit plus he often asks me to help cas hes knows i know what the fucks up with pericing which is cool cas id love for that to be my profession if i fail with ym music always good to have backup planns...

Well, it's not much of a body modification, but ever since I was in 4th grade, I wanted dreads. So I want to head out and get them real soon now that I'm hella older and can make those choices on me own. I'm 17 right now and my parents have different opinions on what they want me to do (they are divorced and hate eachother, hence different opinions). After that I want to tat one of my arms up with some things that mean something to me and was apart of my life (skating, graff, music, all that shit).

dermal punching is always avaliable... so is scalping...

but just get some hooped earing and start adding weights then locks then shit like colored pencils, sharpened crayon all kinds of shit if u cant find any tapers

and i agree with geez the trees awesome but the flowers should of been bigger nad WAY brigert colors more reds peaches and pinks with whites... maybe a lil bit of purple... but its a work in progress, never can tell till the finished product

it was actually barely under 3 bills. its from one of the more reputable shops in the state too. i was surprised at the price myself. it was prolly so reasonably priced cause the tree itsself is all black and white. and there isnt much color in it

I don't recommend home tattooists, people don't realize the diseases needles can carry without proper needle sterilization. A cheap tattoo could give you hep C as an example. Scratchers(begineer tattooists-similar to toys in graffiti) prey on guinea pigs giving them cheap tattoos. Tattoo work is permanently placed on your body so my views are to get the best-why cheap out on something permanent especially on your own skin?

And yes there is are different needles for shading but if someone doesn't teach the use properly it'll rip the shit through skin like a razor. I feel sorry for the guinea pig that some scratcher will have his way with trying to learn.

its wasnt a home made gun...i got it in a shop in san antonio and the reason its was so cheap is cause ive know him for about 11 years....hes been tattooing for 15 years hes a pro lol...and it didnt rip my skin at all

That "epidemiological silence" part is scary. If 8 to 13% of the population in the US, Canada, Australia and Northern Europe have tattoos and piercings, then why isn't more research conducted -- research that could further help tattoo studios keep the business sanitary and safe? Then again, research grants don't come from any tattoo lobby.
