Ok so whats parkour?

Parkour (or 'le parkour'; 'freerunning'; 'pk' or 'pking') is the sport of fluid urban movement. Invented in 1988 in the Lisses suburb of Paris by a small crew of traceurs including the ledgendary David Belle and Sebastien Foucan who recently featured in the BBC documentary 'Jump London', the sport (or art) of pk is essentially a conbination of running, athletics and acrobatics in urban environments.

It includes such techniques as the tic-tac (wall step/run); kong (a form of vault); and precision (two-foot to two-foot jump) among myriad others. Most watching traceurs pk would describe their movements as series of of actobatic techniques fluidly integrated into a continuous run from A to B, past, over under and through any obstacles in their path. However, that would be during a run (most of which are filmed, as with skaters). Most often, if you saw traceurs practicing they'd be honing individual components of their technique.

Certain individuals have chosen to explore alternative forms of parkour, such as running through traffic or passing through crowds quicky, while others, such as Team Ryouko or Xyndicate have attempted to blend pk's unique ideals with other forms of martial and athletic arts.

I didn't even try to run away. I was about 13 feet up on a ledge and I just jumped down. There's no point in running when it's just parkour.

You should learn the basics first.
They work your upper body and confidence,so you can do the crazy shit afterwards.
You also learn to climb a wall really fast,which comes in handy.

I got into parkour about the same time i got into writing. I'm interested in vaults and stuff but nearly as much as i'm interested in climbing and jumping. My whole idea getting into graff was to get my name up by hitting heavens, liek that would be ultimate satisfaction for me. But being on the scene just for a few months now and learning the culture I realized i can't put toy shit up in dope spots. but now that my shit is getting better i'm hitting more htings, i can't wait to really have my shit tight tho then i'm gonna climb all over the city and get up using my crazy climbing skills.

Okay that rant had no point, buthopefully it gives somebody something to fueltheir next post off of.

I do freerunning, and thats what got me interested into graffiti. I live in a subruban town and me n a friend would just freerun and trick, and one day when were on a roof ofa building, we saw a shitty ass tag. I mean it was just plain letters, so it hit us, like woah "freerunning and graffiti go hand in hand, we climb roofs an tag em" and viola, here I am. We're working on a website right now, its gonna have forums about things like freerunnning, graffiti, makin homemade bombs, pranks, gaming... basically anything a mischeivous kid our age would like. So yea... we have hosting now, but it got no content on it, so the website is offically gonna be launched after our freerunning video is made. :)

Freerunning has nothing todo per say with cops.
It's a sport/hobby/talent.

You don't need any specific techs to run... yet some people make a living out of running and competing in races. Are they homosexual because they have pushed their bodies to limits that are phenomal?

Think before you speak. You can't even do a backflip or all these presision jumps, vaults and sprints.

Being able to do a backflip makes your body learn it's postion in space at high speed rotation, intensifies your senses, your flexibility, strenghts and most of all coordination and balance. All this is EXTREMELY usefull in not only running from cops but climbing up roofies or over fences or in any situation that requires more then typical everyday skills.

If you where hitting spots that require you to climb over barbed wire fences, jump off roofs unto other roofs, paint while standing on a tiny ledge, etc, you would be very gratefull to have some kind of skills or practice along those line.

i remember doing parkour in grade 8 on playground equipment. I stopped after my friend almost fell 40 feet onto some rocks. He did fall on ther side of the wall and got a nice scar on his throat.
