not all SxE kids make a big deal about it, but its a proud to be thing. they are proud of it so they want others to know. "I wear an X on my hand and you know that im still proud to be!"-betrayed. a SxE band. they are proud of it and i think they should be. it takes a lot of will power.

i stopped claiming edge a while ago, and until a little over a month ago i was still edge. whatever, i have no problem with people being edge and whatnot, so long as they dont fuck around with me, cause ill still beat the fuck out of anyone, or at least try. and if they continue to want shit, ill bring in HID and the beating of the ass sticks and we'll really see whos hardcore. whatever, i still respect edge and all the kids who are.
anyhoo, i went to Eblens today cause my boy steve said they had parkas there for cheap, well they were having their final sale on all winterwear, and initially this jacket was like 50-60 beans, got marked down to 30, and i payed 10 for it. its a fucking camo puffy jacket with the furry hood, its amazing. i shoulda bought more than one and sold them to all the ghetto thugs

If you want some really good hardcore with a metal edge, check out To The Lions - they're from the Burlington/Hamilton area. It's the old singer from Confine and a few of the guys from Grade. A total throwback to classic 90s hardcore.

man i went to a show last night....my friend told me he was embarrased to be playing at the venue....and i could see why....
he crowd...
age range...13-19(there was 1 19yr, and 3 18 and that was me and my three friends)
my friend who played base said told me and my three friedns to start a circle pit..so we tried...but all the 14 yearold kids just made a ball in the middle and sorta rolled on top of eachother....and kinda tried to smash one person in the middle of the ball...I don't even know what to call it....all the 14 year olds were drunk off their asses.....it was kind of sad to watch...really it was pathetic.....I dunno how you can't know how to circle pit....but the youth of today still seses to amaze me....an its sad cause in a way thats sorta like my genereation? i think....

im fairly young in the local hardcore scene, and theres only a handfull of kids like 17-19 that listen to like,r eal actual hardcore, i went to this show that was mostly younger kids like my age, and it was all fucking emtalcore bands and kdis who didnt know how to dance. seriously, if thats why my generation of hardcore is gonna be like, i should start another band with the heads i know that listen to the real shit that arent already in North End. do some dirty shit, and go to shows and keep those metalcore fags in check, but hitting them.

I've been into hardcore since I was 15 and I'm going on 22 this April. Shit was alot different back then. Alot fucking better too. From Lebanon to Reading and all the way up to Lehigh Valley and Wilkes Barre and fucking Lancaster. PA hardcore is where it's at.

i dunno, theres just a certian standoffishness(huge word) about hardcore kids. its kind of like graffiti in a sence. youre an unknown at first, but then eventually someone will talk to you at a show, and then you meet heads through them and eventually you become cool with everyone in the scene and youre the one alienating the newjacks. lastnight a saw something that really made me feel good, this one dude got clocked by another dude dancing and they almost got into a fight(would have been nuts, buth dudes were massive) but within seconds it was squashed cause they realised how dumb it was.

i saw a similar situation at a skinhead hardcore show. 2 skins were really getting into it, and were on the ground beating the shit out of each other, until some skingirl went up and just started shouting "What are you doing?! We are all friends here! We are all friends!" and they just looked at each other, stood up, and hugged. that just gave me warm fuzzies.

im more into like mid-late 90's toughguy type shit. Most newer bands are way to like, metalcore garbage for me. theres a handfull of new bands that are tearing it up just as hard as the older heads though. shit like Price of Pain, and On a Warpath.
Hoods have always been good
and Catalyst is dope, its more the message of all that Animal Liberation and hardline straightedge vegan stuff that turns me away than the musical aspect.

One of my best friends recorded all of Too Pure To Die's new stuff thats on their myspace. Me and him are in 2 bands together and he recorded all our stuff too. Too Pure needed to borrow my tuner to record because they came 4 hours from Iowa and didn't bring one :P I found that funny. They are kind of jerks tho...they owed him $500+ and didn't pay him for months. I just thought I should share that since we were kinda on the topic of TPTD.
