"The scene" in general is pretty gay. I can say this, because I used to be a hardcore scenester. I know what goes on where I live. I've never known one "hardcore kid" to go into a fight without his buds behind him.
I've been to quite a few "real hardcore" shows. It's all the same. Not to mention all hardcore music is similar and repetitive...you can't listen to hardcore music without listening to a shitty, no-talent breakdown filled with power chords and open strings. All it is is an excuse to fling yourself around like a moron.

Sorry guys to say this but I don't go to shows anymore. Why? My scene has sunken so low they have started to broadcast commectials on t.v with dates of local bands. Even shows without touring bands. It's horrible.
I'll stick to old vinals that 99.9% of the 'HxC' scene don't know about.

I'm not hating on most the new bands out there, but on the bands and genres that are pushed together with hardcore because they end in -core. The prefix -core is added to every new genre and it pisses me ooff how when I'm asked what music I'm into and I respond "Hardcore," I get the same damn response, "Oh, you like hardcore, how about Atreyu, their like popcore or something like that right?"

im not stuck in the past but i sure as hell dont wanna be stuck in the middle of what is passing off as hardcore these days. face it, it is a fashion show and has become the complete opposite of what hardcore was trying to get away from in the first place. honestly, i am a little over my dirty punk kid phase and when i want to take my girl out for a nice dinner, i may actually give a shit what i look like but im not trying to be something im not. the last 4 or 5 harcore shows i have gone to in the passed 4 years have been absolutely dreadful. kids wear band shirts like fucking badges. when i was part of the hardcore scene in new jersey in the mid nineties, my favorite bands didnt even look like they were in bands, because they worked real jobs and played shows purely for the love of hardcore.... not dressing the part and expecting ferret or drivethru or victory and mommy and daddy to pay for the entire ride...all the while dressing like they crawled out from a gutter. fuck you.
