I moved away from VA just under two years ago...I visited last summer, but only painted freights.



And Cl3ver1: We all gotta start somewhere...Unfortunately a lot of people on here are too worried about aesthetics and developing style to give a thought to letter-structure.

Take Ez*One for example, I don't wanna start anything...and I admire his dedication to painting...but from the few sketches I've seen...Letter structure has to be understood a bit better before worrying about extensions and shit.
So here's my advice: Start simple. Learn what parts of the letter need to be seen to make it obvious what it is. Then, try flexing the letters to see what different styles you can get...THEN start slappin' down extensions. It's taken me almost three years to get comfortable with what I like...Two and a half blackbooks full of doodles, sketches and characters. It's really only been the last year that I've started to understand everything. Graff is about patience, believe it or not.

Sketches are the base of all Graffiti. If you don't sketch, you might as well not bother painting. The only people I know that can walk up to a wall and paint something off the top of their heads have been painting 20+ years...and you should see some of their blackbooks.

Hey there i just found this thread and found a reason to join, and i just wanted to let you all know im kind of a toy. I've been writing for the better part of two years, yea i know i should be a , but I've lot better but my first year was real shaky and unguided. I've started to paint a lot more recently(like in the past month) so my drawing has gotten a lot better, but i lack a camera so no flicks. :( I'm located in Chesapeake near square mall.
i write Jinx so if anyone has seen it just post it and ill confirm or not, ill try to get pics sometime this week. ;)
