ive done some acrylics but i got tired of it fast... i cant manipulate it like i want... i prefer painting on the computer... even if i dont get the texture and all... i just did a lil painting on an old broken sk8. ill upload some flix later... i use alot of paint markers and shiz... its abit easier to control. i also love pencil work... dont know much bout the art scene as im mainly just into anime and graff more on the sideline.

That's the arsenal I use at my sketch desk.
Then it gets scanned and touched up sometimes in PS at my computer desk.
I just bought a Wacom tablet so lately I've been playing with the PS lots.

Boner-I'm not sure if that was Sage? Might have been, I'm just in a tournament and get paired off randomly.

Noveone Trucker-You've got the basics down now just practice letter consistency and flow. Those are probably the hardest to get an eye for but lots of practice is key.

It's got a lot of potential...i like it personally but i still think you should back track a bit and work more on the basics rather than jumping straight into complex letters...Fuck what other people tell you about simple letters...if you can't do nice clean good looking simples then you'll never be able to progress into really well done wild styles.

All I gotta say is, word. I remember when I first started writing, I would try to get all complitcated and shit. And then when I came on here, people would say "go back to simples" and all that. And I would never listen, but they were right, and I ended up going back to simples for a long time. But it was worth it.

And about the sketch, im with mindo on this, I think it has a lot of potential, looks like you got a general idea of what is wack and what is not, your lines are nice, but I think you should work on some simples, and practice coloring. Stay up.

oh and about that blue purple sketch... thanx for the props but i dont like it all that much >__< cuz its just like a freestyle. i prefer my works that take me planning and stuff. and yeah its based of the old english style. i was bored at skool and we where doing fonts so i saw that a few old english ones and retried it. ive done some like that in the past but they where my crew name (2 letters) and very simple. basicly just overlapping em and cpied from the font. so i decided to try if i could bust that shit on my own... i might make another one thats cleaner...

this is the kinda stuff that i prefer lol... that i actually take time todo. took me 5hrs and half from preliminary sketches to finish. first time i try fades with markers...

i used a bunch lol...

the yellow, orange, blue, purple and red are cheap paper mate permanent markers. the beige is a prisma marker. the black is some dollar store ultra fine perm marker and a sharpie. the white highlights is a pentel white 100WS. and the mettalic purple outline is sakura permapaque. those permapaques are cheap and awesome for stickers and shit

AK, i thought your shit was headed in a better direction the last time i saw it. most of your extensions are just overlaps of existing letter structure/extensions...which to me just seems like a lazy way of doing things. i mean, your letters and the way they work together are good....look at all city's sketches, those are killer extensions. they join letters and have their own forms.

i visit a few art forums. the others are on other art styles. and to say the truth ive never seen a forum as unhelpful as this one. not that i care cuz i mean i know my letter structure i dont need help. all i need is mad practice now. ive got the basics down weather u like my shit or not u cant say i dont have letter structure. and im not like bragging or anything im just stating a fact.

and about getting worst in real life? i have never got me art dissed in real life. by another writer or anyone else. ive been told my art wasnt great but theyve tried to help me. if you cant critic art then just dont bother with it. let us who can critic properly and actually help out the beginners post.

and yes i do spend alot of time on here. but if you look the number of hours i spend here equals the number of hours an average quebecer watches tv, so intead of watching tv i go online. guess i have as much of a life as the rest. plus posting here is entertaining and fun most of the time. im a computer guy. i love computers, i goto computer skool and im gonna get a computer job. so it all boils down to an opinion. i know alot of ppl who tell me stop graffiti, go get a gf and get a life. they see it as time wasted. so its all about an opinion really.

psykoaz...nobody asked you about your letter structure or how many people ride your nuts in real life. if i look at something and think it's shit, im not gonna sugar-coat my opinion. i dont think people should be getting into graffitti through the internet looking for pointers at all, and the only advice you can give someone at that level is "work on your basic letters first" and "learn how to use perspective or parallel 3-d instead of having it completely random", which is what i said.

ive never received bad reviews for my work in person either, that doesnt mean everything ive done is good. i barely take what those people have to say into consideration, im my own harshest critic and ill tell myself when i think something looks like shit, or needs improvement here or there. i have high standards for my own work...

ill try to re-posess my scanner or figure out the digital camera to upload my OCAD portfolio.
