yeah,i draw with a heavy hand which makes for alot of smearing,plus i smoke when i draw so i tend to ash on the pages alot then just brush it away and it smears all over just like pencil lead.

this aint instant messaging. periods work just fine. cute characters have no place in graffiti. keep them on hello kitty products and off walls.

stevieboy- not bad. good to see you're noting things you should be doin better on the page. that being said...try studying the mouth a little bit. in your second picture down the guys teeth conform to the shape of his lips. in reality your teeth are set in a very distinct manner that has nothing to do with the shape your lips have created. if this guy were to close his mouth his front teeth wouldnt touch. work on making the teeth recede into the back of the mouth. this also gives you the oppurtunity to add gums which will add a good amount of realism to your drawings.

I must say i laughed a whole lot when i scrolled down to see that. Its almost all shading, im not very good at people either but ive watched and seen a few done and its almost all in the shading. you cant actually draw a mouth or eye really you have make it into one kinda thing if that makes any sense.

the arm has 2 elbows - draw realistic arms and study how the muscle fits around bone. even if your drawing cartoons, it helps.
thumb should be on outside. (hold out your left and and swear like that, which way is your thumb pointing?) and if he is not searing (and it's palm forward, then there should be little separation on finders (as you have drawn) and more on wrist and hand.
it has potential and i understand it's a doodle but working n general drawing skills would make your doodles look allot better

I use Adobe Illustrator CS4
takes some getting used to but I've been using it for more than a year now and I didn't go into that dry.

your wasp has good form. the shape is accurate and the curves are sympathetic .
I recommend that you work with a finer black for the ouline to give it more detail and control. don't bother outlining the smoke trails, find a light grey marker and use that. try doing a few that are huge (a4 or 13 sort of size) and using fine black lines to outline. this can help develop the character and give you more understanding of how it fits together. when working this size in pen, be sure to step back allot and see what it looks like overall. I've found sticking it to a flat wall with masking tape is just as good as buying an easel (except it's allot cheaper).

Then i looked at it.

Not to be one of those L2ANOTOMY people but seriously, how many abs does he have there? looks like 8 so far, and thats just down to the belly button.
Also the chest is way too large in comparison to the head.
coloring is dope though, you might as well finish it, the cape colored would be 10x cooler if its done right, and it looks like you could do it right.
Todd McFarlane has probably the coolest comic book style ive ever seen imo. good person to learn from. Just try to copy every detail when you do bite his stuff, dont try to stylize it too much.

i recommend getting some bendable ink markers. they are great for rendering characters. either that or water colours.

the first one looks pretty good man, the only things i would change are the bottom ones eyes, they kind of look like sake eyes not human eyes, you have good concepts of portrait creating however your body proportions for the first one are a bit off, you should'nt have the shoulders end so soon becuase he is a male and mails tend to have broader shoulders than females, also in the first and second but more in the first, your character could use some shading especially in the eye orafaces and throughout the body and a face, if your seriouys about getting more into realistic drawing i suggest you take a realuism class there they will teach you basic and comlex techniques that have to do with shading proportions all of that, they teach you with charcoal and different shaded pencils, i took ione years back and it helped me tremendously wth drawing all kinds of thuings, tjhre techniques once you learn you really will never forget but yeah those are my crits for now

i figured... i need to get a nice grey scale set of markers... i didnt even get a single shade of gray with my otr 36 pack, god damn ripoff...
dont bother buyin packs of markers for grayscales. all the michaels and art supply stores around me keep all their grays out in the open. just make it a point to grab a couple more from the set everytime i go in. i got almost all the cool gray shades and im workin on the warms.

Prefer, I would like to see some of your realism portraits/sketches.

To freek- Learn the rule of thirds, and placement of body parts. Study anatomy of the skull, and facial features if portraits are your thing. Draw from life. If you can't find a model, photos will do for now, but won't substitute for knowledge gained when drawing models. If you want to learn to paint/draw flash, wait until you can draw a decent portrait or figure then wait some more. Wait until you are well on your way to becoming an apprentice or even until you are one.
