you should work on trying to do real shit (draw your room,ext) then when you do toons you have the skillz to make em

only practice will have him get really good...

and scoot, as far as meaning goes, think up a emotion and biuld your charactor
around it. and than when it comes to the quality of the work its gona be practice,
and possibly a art book to bite off of till you develop the skillz to make your own style.

To give you some credit Mime, you&#39;ve got ideas. For butterflies, I will admit they are indeed menacing, and at the very least, it sets you apart. With some development, I think you should be able to build up some iconic stuff. I actually dig the crying child with the madflies around his head; just work on it, but I guess that&#39;s why we&#39;re in the toy forums. Keep at it.

PS: Halos and quotation marks are ornamental. Stick to basics. Essentials before excess. I know this because my tag is pretty weak.

1.] No, I&#39;m not MIME from Detroit - but I&#39;ve seen his work, and enjoyed it.

Its the Mime Moth. Its a handstyle, that just happened to look like a winged something flying upsidedown. Look closely. Its one of the most recently developed characters I&#39;ve done, and if I can find the scrap paper I doodled it on - I&#39;ll grab a picture of it.


But besides responses to responses...

Aces.. that penguin would be sick, if you just cleaned him up a little, and worked on his stance. Some shading, and maybe even a cubist approach would make that little guy pop.

I was referring to cubism, which is a pretty known art perspective. It involves taking an ordinary object, or character, and then making it more like a cube. I don&#39;t mean pack everything into a tiny square and add some 3D. But, look for areas of the penguin where you could enhance his features, or manipulate his look - using shading, creative 3D, and clean lines.

I don&#39;t know if I explained it well enough for you, but if I didn&#39;t. Just seach "cubism" on google images, and you&#39;ll get some good examples of cubist work.

Yours was okay, but this is Picasso. Classic cubist.

Notice how the details of the picture are scattered and displaced, but they still maintain a focus point that allows the viewer to observe the picture as its original might have been seen. Only, with the creative shading, and clean lines, it has a more 3D feel to it. Almost like certain pieces, or shapes are bulging and pushing the surface.

WRONG. Its not backwards, its just not at the right angle, if you look at the swaztika it is tilted at about a 45 degree andgle im guess, all I know and from what I can see is that the swaztika is titled at an angle, I heard that if its not titled its a sign for peace.
