Use cereal boxes or steal some manilla folders from school. They work great too for large or small stencils. I like the folders personally.

If you also start to get some shoddy edges and cuts, stop and replace the blade. This has a great effect on the overall quality of your spray stencils.

Sharp razors, 1.00 a pack of 10 work great for me. Get them at wally world.

I think what steez ment was that HE made the stencil from the original picture. So he's saying that he found the original photo of those two girls kissing and made a stencil out of it. He didnt copy someone else's stencil. He made his own. Granted its been done before, but perhaps he didnt know that? No where did he say it was his original artwork/design/picture.

theres this wall i pass everyday with a pixilised bomberman stencil on it... if i had "bombed that wall with a giant hollow" a week before like i was going to (dont ask why i didnt...sometimes it doesnt feel right) it would have gotten buffed but since its a textbook sized stencil they wont buff it because its a waste of money. so your stencils can stay up for nuff time.... when you do a BEAUTIFUL stencil people just accept it as a new part of the city. its like a sexy but tasteful tattoo. Because nobody thinks bombing is art. (except other writers maybe) ...then again im nobody... but thats my $0.02

When I started making my own stickies, it was rough. Cause I was making alot of them, and tryin different things.

To give you a non-smart assed answer, think about the location before slapping it. Does it have perma ink on it? Will it battle the elements constantly.

Look for areas inside and out but under hangings. Then rain really wont effect them. If your real classy, cover them in clear coat. Then they will last a little bit longer and wont bleed. But any ink other than Perma ink and paints will eventually lose the color and make your stuff look blah.

LOL so many of my earlier ones without clear coat and black ink with hi lighter look okay now months later. They fade and turn white. But I mean This is after a dozen rains and sleety type shit.

They will stay up longer if they look better. They are less likely to be taken down.

You know, there are such things as finding the same picture and using the same process to turn it into a stencil. There IS a fuckin' tutorial on making stencils on the fuckin' site. Did you not also see all the little differences in all 3 of the pics??

Reading a post about stickers being a waste of time when you could go out bombing. How is it a waste of time you are pretty much sketching on stickers and than go around slapping them everywhere while going bombing. Do it on a rainy day or something.

Okay so Im taking a trip for the weekend out to my moms. Which is like a 40 or 50 mile trip away. I made some stickers to go throw while I was there.

I know they arent super hot like some of the others I seen this past week but I havent been able to rack some paint markers lately.

its really light for now too, i dont plan on outlining the camo, so it should come into its own when its colored, which brings me back around, any ideas on what to use to color?

Well, I used the sharpies for the longest time. I still use them. But prismacolors are too fucking hard to steal. At the local art supply store they took them all off the shelves. I believe they were $147 for a big pack. Fuck that.

I am way too poor to pay and theres no where to rack from. Sharpies have been my friend and I plan to stick with them until I find a better product.

Any suggestions?

You're gonna love the satisfaction you feel after that's up... You'll go by it every few days to check on it and see if it's still up. It'll become a pet to you. I do it with my big posters. Really think about the ideal spot to put it. High profile, but not so hot they'll pull it down immediately. Bring a friend to watch the traffic, and bring a full jug of paste. Like a 2 liter's worth with a wide mouth. Good luck dude. It's awesome.

ugh^^^^ not ready for slaps yet...just keep working on your style before you jump to stickers. also when you do stat do them...you might wanna make your shit a little bigger so it fills most of the sticker and not just a small protion. no sense in wasting a whole large sticker with a little peice if you can fill the whole thing instead.

Yup Yup... Just use a Magnum homie. Yes, they suck for taggin' but for posters, they work quite well. Mist some clear acrylic matte coating over the top and you're good to go. Yeah, eventually it's gonna fade some, but it's not gonna happen anytime soon. Like I said in another thread. I've still got posters up going thru their second winter now. They've faded some, but you can still see them plenty well.

PS- when I said "mist over" I meant it. DON'T spray coating directly at the poster. ;)

Make good use of the stickers dont waste them like that. IF your gonna doodle then doodle on a newspaper.

Make them fuckers BIG and BOLD so you can see them from 500 feet away. Today I did one and drove way up the street and I could clearly see it still.

Bigger is better for stickers. If you do 30 around your town on street signs and generators, people will start to take notice of you. Its been 3 months since I started slapping and I know people notice cause My dad seen my work. He knows about my shit now and looks for it.

nice here if your american pop down to a dollar store and pick yourslf an xacto knife or if you're anywere else just go to a craft/art shop and ask for a hobby knife, should look like this and be hella sharp

Here Ill tell you what I think Is the best. I have used exacto knives before, and they go dull at the tips too easy. I dont fuck around when it comes to sharp crisp cuts. I use the 10 or a dollar razors. I know its kinda weird, but when you finish a stencil with it, either change sides and use the opposite side, of chuck it.

I never use a blade more than twice, cause then you gett ragged cuts and rips in your stencil material.

The new stencil you made is WAY better than the last one. What are you using to get the print? I use photoshop.

Develop a better design for a charatcer. That thing is super simple which is cool but It doesnt fit with that tag at all.

The tags nice though. I dont feel the character.

Thats a badass wheat paste. If you did that shit right C3ZR said they will stay up for two winters atleast.

I say make sure you get paste real good on the bottom parts. Cause that shit will fall off or get ripped off.

First, Change the image to grayscale so it is black and white, then set your contrast as high as it will go, Then just play with your brightness till you get the image the way you want it.

You have to keep in mind that there can be no floating bits, because you have no way of keeping those pieces there.
If you cut out the black, then all the white has to be connected.
If you cut out the white, then all the black has to be connected.

ever heard of two layers killer? The only reason that wont work is because its a shitty image. Too much stuff going on. If you cut that out and spray through that...its gonna bleed all together unless the stencil is like lifesized. It could work I guess...but you are going to lose so much detail, i doubt it would even be worth it. If you fuck it up to bad people wont even be able to tell that its Brian Peppers. Im sure you could find a better picture...

The character one's looking quite nice, but your handstyle needs some serious work. Make your letters simpler and dont connect them up. Keep sketchin and save your stickers.
