whats a good way to get stencils from paper to cardboard or posterboard?

what i do is just cut out the stencil from the paper then place that over the posterboard and trace is with a pencil then cut that out.hope i answerd that for u.

I just got some fineliners and still getin used to it... they work awesome cuz if you do an outline first with a fineliner, when you fill it in, the outline keeps the color in but you still gots to be careful.

I am still waitin for the guy I was trading with to send me usps sticks... :(

this is the only advice i have for people doing or getting into stix...

a. if they&#39;re for outside use, use paint pens or clear coat over your markers
b. bumper stickers have good use for background and durability outsude (slob uses them from time to time)
c. if you&#39;re trading stix for books make sure you take some time and pride in your stuff... (i have a few of my own that i rushed everyone has em)
d. not every sticker is a great sticker, so dont think its the shit and stick it everywhere

and in case you&#39;re wonder why i&#39;m posting in here...
simple some cats in here have potiential with some practice...

yea i think i had two different stencils, the white was just the outline of the head, the body i did freehand cause it would have been to large to carry, and the black part of the face i used posterboard. so it wasnt all a stencil just the face.

Criticism, possibly constructive..

Capitol-You obviously put alot of effort into the first two, which is cool, but don&#39;t put any of them up. Your letter structure isn&#39;t any good yet and your color ideas are way mix matched and rather unpleasant. I&#39;m not telling you this to be a dick. I got told the same thing the first time I posted stickers. It&#39;s just a matter of you being a beginner and need more time to get your skill level up to the point where you wont embarass yourself. 6 months from now you&#39;ll look at those and laugh. I know my first stickers sucked ass.

Really, toy sticker thread is for the most part, kind of a bad idea. Stencils are fine, but toys who write on adhesive paper will be tempted to stick it to something, and most toys don&#39;t have the skills to be getting up, be it a sticker, or a can. But if you wanna trade back and forth for your books or some shit, that&#39;s pretty cool. ;)

Thanks bro, i dont really stick my stickers anywere, i mostly give them to friends who keep them in their wallets, or put them all on something i have at home(Like my tv for example is covered in stickies)

im from philly burbs, they probably just did a google search on yoshi. that&#39;s what i did.

i have a few other ones photoshopped already but i haven&#39;t printed them yet. what&#39;s a good way to print out stencils real big? or do i just have to print out like 10 sheets and piece them together?

use something thinner than that, i use manila folders. it&#39;s just a lot easier to cut through and the lines will be smoother. use an exacto, looks like you cut those with a utility knife.

AiR, thin lines on stickers with lots of white space are generally a bad idea. They don&#39;t capture the eye very well. Try using thicker lines.

I saw someone give a good tip on 12oz one time. Pretend each letter is a board, and that they are all the same size. Then cut your letters from those boards, keeping them all the same size and width until you get that down pat.

theres somethng about the written text over the locust that just doesn&#39;t flow right with the picture...maybe you shouldn&#39;t cut them out form fitting...I&#39;m not quiet sure tho, maybe try typing out the lettering?

I think you could make a decent design out of those locust stickers if you found a nice font and added a background as an actual design, rather than just a random animal chillin&#39; with annoying text that nobody&#39;s going to want to read. Make whatever it is you&#39;re saying just a few bold words under the locust or something... I don&#39;t know, just screw around with some designs in Photoshop and you&#39;ll think of something.

Just find some other all white stickers from a store, or use the huge DHL ones.

Throwitup: nice idea with the hand puppet, but it looks like shit. figure out a better puppet idea.

Geks: the locust looks funny because the text is darker and more bolder than the locust. print it darker and use a smaller pen or something for the text. its ok having it going around the locust and cut to form.
The hand is alright, maybe color it.
Your throws look bad, though. its hard to read the letters when they are all crammed together and into a boxshaped sticker. hit the blackbook.

I did a few of some babies and they are life sized. I just connect big sheets of sticker paper. Its super time consuming but really well worth it.

one thing i woold fix a little i gess is where the legs connect to the bottom, when yoo ct that part make it an angle rather than crved. will probably make the whole thing look better. its a pretty small detail tho
