Hey...I'm REALLY new here...I've been lurking around these boards for a few months now, and only very recently got into graff art. I did a little free hand, but I'm good with computers, so I really prefer making stencils. I know thats not what is really meant as art by you guys, so I'm super reluctant to post these up.

I recently got some stickers, which are perfect for my home town (I live in a tiny area, literally only about 15 kids live near me. It'd be pretty easy to single me out.)

So, if you guys could...rate my stickers please? Don't be too harsh. I hate even TRYING at graffiti, because there are so many people who are GREAT at it...

First version is a lot messier than the second which was cleanup by chopping some things off that just didn't fit. If you don't like my style that is A Okay some people don't like chicks with fake titties and lips.

Your picture is a bit fuzzy but from what I can see I like them. Would like them even better if they were original characters instead of the looney toons
I don't mind the white background. There's so much color going on in your lettering and your characters that if you added anything to the background it might be hard to see all of it. If you do add background keep it real simple.

Dude, those a really fresh. How big is that image? I would drop the sticker paper and just rock the stencils staright across walls tho.

iv tried a stanley knife and it was so pointless i had to like saw throgh it.

how do u make the floppy bits in the midle of stencils stay down?

(you know the bit thats too thin to be held down by its self in between bits on nearlie every stencil.)

im using this stuff my friend recomended for me its clear presentation folder covers. Is this good or bad?

I have been working with a precision knife to cut my stencils, but I just got a pyrograph that I'll be using from now on. If the folder covers are too thick you may want to look into getting mylar or acetate sheets from an art supply or architectural/drafting supply store. The art store here sells big mylar sheets for about $2 each.

I usually weigh down the bits and pieces with coins or rocks. One of my friends has a good idea - he works on a metal table and uses tiny magnets to hold everything down. I want to do that but don't have a metal table to use yet. Although Krylon makes a magnetic spraypaint that supposedly magnetizes any surface...I might look into getting some of that and see if it works.

i have tons of stencils. been doin it for about 5 years. i have 2 boxes full. I use cardstock and print them out... works great for me!

This is brand new. Just cut it out last night, painted it today.
Those other ones are up in the street now I just haven't uploaded the flicks yet.
This one's about 7 feet tall. My biggest stencil yet. I'm going to have to recut some of it before spraying it again, the image didn't quite line up properly....you can see it on the arm where I fucked up.

indigo that paste is sick! Ive been wanting to do some big six footers like that, like a full figure. Any tips or did you just go at it one day? And what kinda paper is that on?

I used four big sheets of mylar put together for the stencils. I drew the image freehand on big sheets of paper, then traced it onto the mylar. Had some difficulties lining the stencils up properly when spraypainting it but overall it went ok. I have a roll of banner paper that I used so it's all just one big piece. I didn't want to have to line up a bunch of little squares of paper.

I had a friend help me put it up, and I used cellulose paste because it's nice and sticky. The paper is heavier than what I usually use so I needed a thicker paste to make it stay up. And a milk carton to stand on because it was so tall.

:) it was fun, I want to do more big stuff like this.

Moved the third eye down and made it smaller, took out the stuff under the chin and tightened up the overspray
I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's better, yes?

Don't be jealous, just keep working on your own stuff and it'll get better. I've made a whole lot of crap stencils that nobody ever saw because I threw them away after the first test spray.
This is just my personal preference but I'd like to see the lines smoother on your pope stencil. They seem a bit wobbly. Although I know some people do that on purpose so if you did then please disregard my comment. Like I said, it's just personal preference.

yeah its the best it is woven so it doesnt rip just use some spray adhesive and glue two peices together so its thicker ist suuuuper prime

@ Bankz - if it goes up in the street it will be with posters and paste. Like you said, way too impractical. It's hard enough to get it lined up properly when I'm at home with all the time I want.

@ HAJA - the right talon has the the small bird's talon next to it, that's why it looks fucked up. Probably need to do them two separate colors as well to make them look separate.

nah I don't use photoshop, or computers at all. I find a picture and trace midtones and shadows on two separate layers of tracing paper. Then I copy that onto mylar and cut it out.
