You need to at least spray it in a shade of brown and have a second black layer with little liney detail before anyone notices what it is.


It&#39;s sort of a short log, Kind of an unfortunate stump.

sketch more until you at least have a good throw and handstyle, then put those on stickers.

yeah so i realized i totally suck at graffiti and im kinda interested in stickers and stencils because im still interested in graff. i have a tiny bit of stencil experience and anyhow there were a few stupid questions i wanted to ask you guys who are kinda new to this too

1) what program do you use to make the pics black and white which makes em look a lot simpler and easier to cut out

2) whats this acetate stuff that is supposedly good for stencils

3) should i just use a typical xacto knife or is there some sort of technique that is better

4) do you cut it out of paper, spray it onto whatever you want the final stencil to be made out of and cut that or put the orignal pic on the good material and just cut through both (hope that made sense)

thanks a lot for the help

1) Photoshop. Adjust brightness and contrast, or adjust threshhold or use the colour selector. There are quite a few tutorials you can find on google.

2) Acetate is the stuff they print on for over head projectors, like the ones they use in the classroom. Stationary shops usually sell it with the computer paper and stuff.

3) Xacto knife should be fine, some people like to use a combination of xacto and scissors.

4) I tape the picture I print off under the acetate and just cut through the acetate.

well. i don&#39;t really do stencils but i&#39;d like to start. but as far as programs. you can go into photoshop. open your image, then click "image" its in the top, along with file, etc. then go to "adjustmnts" and clikc desaturate (this will turn the picture black and white) then go back to image and then to adjusments and play with the "brightness/contrast" til you get what you want. OR if you have illustrator, you can vectorize it. which in my understand ing taking away pixels. not actually but just moothing your edges. You do this by: selecting the letter file and then going to Object, then Live trace, and then make and expand. now your picture should be vectorized and put in black and white. sometimes vectorizing can make images look a little bit weird. that is if it was a low quality picture. with few pixels.

NOTE: the whole thing with illustrator can be done ith out any previous adjusments. meaning, get the image on your computer and then put it in illustrator and vectorized.

Personally I find it easier using photoshop to get a more detailed image like this one:

the other thing, with that second letter/shape/whatever, it looks like the inside of that circle/loop should be black. If its not, then those lines are just completely random... if you get me, not quite sure how to describe it

i gots me a question about wheatpaste, if i was to put up a wheatpaste on a window, would it be possible to get off without trashing the window?

near the end of this year, i wanna go ALL OUT bombing at my school, a big roller, some bombs and some wheatpastes. Ive been thinking about putting the wheatpastes all over the giant windows we have, facing inwards you you can see them from the inside. the only thing is i dont want to permenantly damage those windows...

i dont want the pastes to come off easily, but i dont wanna make the windows look like shit from now on, i feel some responsibility to not cause that much irrepairable damage...

ive got a few questions bout sticks, when you guys cut them out, what doya use, scissors or an exacto?

other question, do you guys leave a little thing to help you peel &#39;em off and just tuck it behind for pictures (thats what i did, thats why its propped up, it wouldnt lie flat) or is there some other way to make it peel well?

i don&#39;t cut them they have a longer life if you don&#39;t, if your usin usps stickers then they have a little cut down the middle in the back so i&#39;ve never had trouble peel in them, or anyone sayin anything when i stick them

not bad, some are better than others tho, obviously...

and i wouldnt cut them, its just that im using dhl stickers which are like a half a page, but not good proportions for making a throw that&#39;d fill it up, so i cut them out since their small. on the plus side i can get 4 finished stickers for each sticker sheet.

whe i cut them it doesnt have to be perfect but close is good, an exacto knife would take awhile, honestly i use safety scissors theyre smaller and easier to work with

pfft, i think an exacto would be TONS quicker, basically all you have to do is outline the peice, cept with a knife instead of a marker.
