the small ones on the right i use for busses, just quickies
i used to write anon7, but not anymore. and when i was trying to find a new name i was thinking about Aset.
otherwise the more complex ones are for spots where theyll get seen the most

yeah i like the first red throw on the bottom (the se one) the e looks good but instead of the handies to the side color i the background or something leave the ebk on top though that dont look bad all in all a nice dark background would make that throw look a lil better in my opinion

Giving all my old stickers away for some painted backgrounds. Some stickers are even from when I first started, I'm just trying to get rid of these. So if any one is interested in sending me painted background blanks, for these and some of my new stickers i'll be glad to trade.

pretty neat stickers.
Okay so I wanna give stenciling a try but I dunno where to cut I got some nice kinda thing stiff cardboard but I drew this on paper.. I firgued for the teeth I cut out the white bits but like the rest.. I tried I just got a blank thing lol forget the NIL I just put it there no reason and it was just a quick shitty drawing I plan to make it an evil looking smile :) Any advice..? Also I live in Australia you can get stickers from post office or news agents..?
EDIT: Like could you save it in paint and like circle where I don't cut or go to cut thanks.

Hey Nil if you don't have cardboard do what I did. I put masking tape or clear tape on top of the paper for 1 or 2 layers and cut it out. As long as you get paint on the tape the paper will stay straight. Also the more you paint it the stiffer the stencil gets for long lasting stencilin'. B)
I got good carboard I said that must of read wrong or I posted wrong or whatever. I stole heaps from school of the back of those note pads some of those are good then I found some nice not to thick or thin stiff cardboard. I am saving that one 'til i get good enough :)

Sheek
09-26-2006, 11:41 PM
yea i thought of that
i have sum shirts where the picture on its kinda stiff
but its not reall uncomfortable
i just thought id see if anyone else has tried this before i spend the time
maybe you could not do stencils but put down the cardboard and starting using that cranium of urs and do some dope pieces
Umm I wouldn't wheatpaste your shirt.
If you're thinking of spraypainting your shirt it could come out in the wash, it happened to me once with cheap paint.
The better way to do it is to buy a tube of acrylic paint (or even textile ink) and use a small craft roller and roll it on.

one of two stickers worth sending out of like 20.
it seems like its all printed shit on non glossy paper, teh fuck is that right?
but you and mecro held it down. unfortunately, those two were smallllll stickers.
im so over stickertraders. bring back stickerswitch
on another note, that combo poster looks tight, but like before i dont like the guy holding the heart. its well drawn and it looks dope, but its always just holding a heart, and to begin with isnt that interesting. make him holding something else for once maybe? idn, thats just me.
i always liked your bubbles and handstyles though
plus the fingers on the left hand look wierrd. maybe its me.
neko- nice picture, the fingers on the left hand look wierd though
haha. jk. for real though.
nice reverse stencil job on that tshirt, you know whatd make it better though? if that black was actually stenciled around it so like, the whole black area was shaped like something other than a blob.
or if it wasnt so thick, like a 1cm outline or so, maybe cut with cardboard or something, but still kind of sketchy, and then some drip action. drips look sweet on artsy t shirts.

09-30-2006, 09:53 AM
Yeh normal paper works just fine... use whatever you want... just as long as it's not too thick (like thin cardboard or something) then it'll be harder to stick onto the wall....
But any paper you want... as for what pens to use on them, you'll have to try out the different pens to see if the paste makes the ink run or not (oh and dont worry if it looks odd when you first put the paste on the paper... when it dries up it goes right back to normal. look on that stencil revolution site, they got good tutorials

cezr i got one of your stickers from stickertraders....
one of two stickers worth sending out of like 20.
it seems like its all printed shit on non glossy paper, teh fuck is that right?
but you and mecro held it down. unfortunately, those two were smallllll stickers.
im so over stickertraders. bring back stickerswitch
on another note, that combo poster looks tight, but like before i dont like the guy holding the heart. its well drawn and it looks dope, but its always just holding a heart, and to begin with isnt that interesting. make him holding something else for once maybe? idn, thats just me.
i always liked your bubbles and handstyles though
plus the fingers on the left hand look wierrd. maybe its me.
neko- nice picture, the fingers on the left hand look wierd though
haha. jk. for real though.
nice reverse stencil job on that tshirt, you know whatd make it better though? if that black was actually stenciled around it so like, the whole black area was shaped like something other than a blob.
or if it wasnt so thick, like a 1cm outline or so, maybe cut with cardboard or something, but still kind of sketchy, and then some drip action. drips look sweet on artsy t shirts.
yeah i like it but it was a sketchy turn out.
im going to put it on a hoodie or somethin blow it up and make a 2 cm spray on it
post it later
thanks

Why the heck would he cut it out and spray it?
TylerDurden
10-01-2006, 01:25 PM
Print it out on a sheet.
Cut out the black parts.
Spray the paper with the holes in it, the spray paint goes through the holes, and an image comes out through the other side.
It's how you make a stencil.

im thinking of making a stencil of a band aid and putting it over cracks in walls and sidewalks.....anyone have any thoughts on it
make it a big wheatpaste instead of a stencil
really cool idea though
-testify-
10-01-2006, 04:31 PM
yea a wheatpaste would look better but my parents are always home and always ask way too many questions bout everything so i couldnt make it alot
when u get the chance when ur parents are gone just make a huge batch and pour it into a bunch of sports bottles. or u could make it at a friends house maybe? or get spray adhesive but ive never tried it and dont know how good it is, im guessin it aint as effective,

Yeah, I'm the idiot. He's the one who didn't get what I was talking about. Just because he's got a lot of posts, that doesn't translate into making awesome stencils or even knowing what the fuck you're doing. I could post all day about how one of my balls hangs lower than the other, it doesn't make me Logan Hicks.
And they're not "complex" stencils. Obviously, you've never seen any of the stencils I've posted. With the exception of that Jimi Hendrix image, they're all pretty basic. I didn't think he'd make the Hendrix one into a stencil, I was refering to the other 3.

i respect stencils that are multilayered or have a point like banksy. but any thing with one layer is just wack unless it is very detailed but i still dont think that it takes anywhere as much artistic ability as a throw or piece, then again its just my opinion

sharpie paint pens *****, that shit has decos beat like rodney king. i have uni's/decos/and sharpies, the sharpies dont turn to total shit when u go over a line more than once.... i could go on for a long time fool

be more specific next time , i thought you were just talkin about sharpies, well i guess its a matter of opinion for sharpie paint pens vs. decos, I have only used 1 sharpie paint pen at a store and it wasnt to great. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I really appreciate it! ;)
As fot the methods, I've posted them several times in various threads, but I'll give it another go and try and remember what page it's on so I can refer future questions to this page. :P
As for the posters themselves, I did not hand draw the bubbles. I used a compass to make them perfectly round in varying widths, trying to overlap most of them slightly. I did the stars by hand, all this in pencil. Then I used a marker to slowly and carefully outline the pencil. This part takes a long time, to get it to look clean. Then I thickened the outline so it would stand out and be really noticeable on a wall or wherever. Then I added the drips last and cut it out.
Wheatpasting methods...
What you need-
-A roll of poster or banner paper. (you can get a roll at most craft stores for like 3 bucks or a big ass roll for 10 bucks.)
-Pencil and eraser
-permanent marker
-Matte clear acrylic spray coating (gives posters some protection from the elements. Hold spray 8 or 9 inches from poster when spraying it so it doesn't bleed the ink and mist over entire poster)
- scissors
-Golden Harvest Teknabond wallpaper paste or the traditional flour, sugar, water recipe.
-water bottle to put the paste in.
-handsize width housepaint brush or roller or soft brushed house broom. (You can buy an extension for the broom if you wanna do high up spots like billboards. They are for rollers, but have the same sized screw in as cheap house brooms.)
- a plastic bag to stuff the pasted up brush in after you're done.
-a sweatshirt to conceal your posters. ( keep in mind, you can bend and crumple your posters to conceal them under your sweatshirt, cuzz the wrinkles come out once you apply the poster to a wall.)
-optional extras- a friend to watch the traffic in heaty spots and a pair of walkie talkies.
Hitting a spot.
- Conceal posters under sweatshirt
- not nessecary to conceal water bottle w/paste. People just think it's lemonade or ice water from a distance, especially if it's dark out.
- tuck bag with paintbrush into the front of your pants.
- find spot and scope out traffic for a while, consider light changes at intersections, and plan at least two escape routes.
- when ready, squirt a bunch of paste on desired surface, pull out brush and evenly cover surface.
- unroll poster and apply it quickly, trying to avoid wrinkles and air pockets.
- squirt more paste over poster and spread evenly over top. (this helps seal poster in and protect it further from wheather.
- You're done, now RUN FORREST! RUN! (or calmly walk away if you can afford to..)
Making pictures into posters.
If you want a picture turned into a poster, I use this method. It's old school, but it works well.
- Buy a projector from a craft store. I got a cheap 20 dollar one, but it only makes images so big. Spend more- get larger poster.
- You can try tracing a color image directly onto paper, but I suggest running it thru photoshop, or better Kodak picture saver program. (it comes on the disk if you get camera film pictures developed onto a CD at a photo place. All you do is press the "cartoon" button and it turns the picture into an easily traceable black and white image. Photoshop might take some extra work, I dunno, I never used it.
- print of the modifyied image and put under projector.
- trace onto poster
- ink it.
Hope that helped. Wheatepasting is a great way to leave a big statement in a heaty spot in under 30 seconds. Practice at home on some plywood getting your timing and methods down. Just use blank paper or newspaper.
Something to consider.... As a graffiti writer or street artist, you utilize an opportunity to voice yourself and oppinion that the general public is too afraid to use. Given that oportunity, do you want to express your oppinions on something? The louder, and more clever you speak, the more attention you'll recieve, not only from writers, but from the entire community. The general public usually doesn't notice traditional graffiti. They've become descentcitized to it. A bold image or statement sparks their curiosity. I've been on the news once allready. I garauntee I'll be on the news and in the papers again very soon. I tend to run a positive and hopeful campaign, and the public reallly doesn't expect such sentiment from a vandal...
Examples-
Here is a poster I put up over some gang graffiti that had been in a very noticaeable spot for a couple weeks.
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/2941/im0003482uv.jpg
This is the spot... (hard to see the poster cuzz of bad pic, but it was very noticeable to all that passed thru the high traffic spot.)
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3908/im0003520rx.jpg
Here's a flick of the news reporting on the poster.
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/7528/im0003616nt.jpg
This one is next. I'm putting up a dedication poster under it that will read..
"Dedicated to the 2 little girls
that were hit by bullet fragments
from a drive-by as they slept in their beds..
...Don't stop dreaming..
Love, Cezr"
interestingly, the gang graffiti continues in the neighborhood that the 4 and 6 yr. old girls were shot. I hope that this will spark the communities compassion to eliminate this force in the area. Every pitchfork on every corner is a slap in the face to those 2 little girls...
http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/9885/im000274yt0.jpg
The poster is 5 feet tall. it took about 10 hours to make. I'm placing flowers beneath it.
I'm sorry to preach. If you aren't down to make a difference, that's cool too. I just want to use my abillities of working outside the law, to make a difference if I can.
Hope the wheatepasting methods help those of you that asked for them. ;)
Why don't you copy that post and put it in the 'New 2 Graff' thread? It's really helpful.

This is the spot... (hard to see the poster cuzz of bad pic, but it was very noticeable to all that passed thru the high traffic spot.)

Here's a flick of the news reporting on the poster.

The poster is 5 feet tall. it took about 10 hours to make. I'm placing flowers beneath it.
I'm sorry to preach. If you aren't down to make a difference, that's cool too. I just want to use my abillities of working outside the law, to make a difference if I can.
Hope the wheatepasting methods help those of you that asked for them. ;)
