i did it because i was bored mostly, but i like it.
it doesnt leak, but sometimes it dries out cause my ink is thick, then i just dip the nib in paint or shake it alot. i like it because its small, has a cap, but makes wide marks. i hate carrying huge fucking markers that make it look like i have a fucking boner in my pants. im bored again.

it should be alright, most markers are refillible, and just try not to wear it down other wise you will have a fucked up nib that you cant get out.

why shouldn't i use latex paint in markers?
I heard i can thin it down with water and it will work.
Also, are meanstreaks good?
What about the eberhard 3000s?
BRAINE

meanstreaks are the sex.
i have never heard of an eberhard, maybe you should try it though.
tell everyone about it afterwords.
also, you can thin latex or acrylic paint with water, some people use bleach, but it isnt very permanent, unless you have exterior latex paint it will fade, and if you are worried about being buffed, then it is not for you. it buffs in like 5 seconds or less.

Hey guys, i just wanted to inform you of a new marker I found.
http://www.shoplet.com/office/limages/EB008292.gif
Its called the Eberhard Faber 3000. They are chisel tip felt permanent markers that come in different colors. You can get 12 of them at office depot for about $3!!!
If you dont have an office depot near you, you can order from here:
http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=...682039&&An=text (http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=682039&&An=text)
They say its smudge and blur resistant and that it writes crisp and clean.
You can fine more eberhard fabers here:
http://www.officedepot.com/browse.do?N=429...0324+4294962402 (http://www.officedepot.com/browse.do?N=4294945105+10324+4294962402)
They also have water-based markers too.
If you only want one, you can buy red ones seperately at 38 cents a piece.
They really stress that it's permanent and smudge-free so im gonna try it out.
They look like they can be taken apart easily and filled with custom ink, so even better.
I'm heading out right now to pick up my 12-pack.
I'll post more info once i use em.

Hey guys, i just made my first marker.
I used interior latex paint, and i thinned it out with water.
The paint is white and water-based so it takes forever to dry and it whipes off really easily, but it drips real good. I can just use it for practicing. In about an hour im gonna buy some black oil based paint and then I'll use that to fill my other marker.
Anyways, i found this marker in school, took out the inky, replaced the nib with chalk eraser, filled it with my crappy water paint (interior latex mix with lots of water), topped it, dipped it, and capped it.
Here's some pictures:

My next one is a mix between another of the marker above + glue stick.
It looks like this:

Once I buy some black oil paint, ill use it to fill my gluestick marker up.

I just went out today and bought some new stuff.
First off, I went to office depot to get my meanstreak and eberhard permies.
They didn't carry the eberhards and they only had 2 white meanstreaks, so i just bought one of those. Next stop i went to home depot trying to find some oil-based silver paint...but all they had was white base... so i ended up buying a can of silver metallic spray paint that i will need to spray into a cup. Next, I went to dollar club to see if i could score a kiwi mop for a buck but they didn't have any. On my way out, I saw a huge blue marker called a BAZIC MARKER which i bought. It writes in an ugly green color and smells horrible. It says OIL INK on it so i think its cool how the ink is oil. The tip is 10mm wide so its pretty thick. I'm not sure how I can fill it with my own ink yet. I think the only way in is to take out the nib, poor in the ink, and put the nib back on. It's pretty permanent and leaves a ghost.
Here's some pics:
http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/7528/picture96fs.jpg
all my new stuff.

one question...
what should i do with the spray paint? Should i just.. spray it in a cup and pour it into the marker? Do I need to thin out? Would i use water or thinner? Thanks!

1.http://www.msnusers.com/5uj4l3jgonsoohtgp6fbg8k3q3/Documents/Pictures/DSC02306.JPGThis is with the cap on... the cap it just a cap from a bottle of nyquil i duct taped to fit snug..
2.http://www.msnusers.com/5uj4l3jgonsoohtgp6fbg8k3q3/Documents/Pictures/DSC02307.JPGHeres without the cap... the bottle is a soft plastic glut bottle and the nib is a piece of foam i glued to the top of the glue hole ( there was a sreader to glue it onto). again used duct tape to sucure.
3.http://www.msnusers.com/5uj4l3jgonsoohtgp6fbg8k3q3/Documents/Pictures/DSC02308.JPGSide view with no cap and after i sqeezed in the bottle.
4.http://www.msnusers.com/5uj4l3jgonsoohtgp6fbg8k3q3/Documents/Pictures/DSC02309.JPGSide view anarchy sign, didnt know it would be DRIPPY AS SHIT...
for ink i used a little can of RUST-OLEUM cloudy grey and mixed it with 1/4 brake fluid. i put a ball bearing in to mix it and it works like a charm.

Okay.. I just found out what my new bazic marker does.
It smells horrible and says it's "oil ink". The color is a gross green and really faded...leaves good ghost tags. So i just figured out it's a marker that paints in colored fish oil. I don't mind because its burns in real deep to whatever I write it on, and it's really permanent. The tip is also 10mm, which i like.
Here's a pic as posted on the previous page:
http://tinypic.com/fdujhd.jpg
My "Bazic MARKER Oil Ink 10mm" which i picked up at dollar club.
I was wondering what happens if i write it on glass. I wont have any glass to write on until tomorrow in school..but im wondering...will it burn into the glass like ..sort of like etch? It's basically a marker of fish oil and went in pretty deep into my pores when i drew it on my wrist...and it always bleeds through paper.

I'm gonna goto my local staples in a couple of days and I'll pick up my pack.
They're permanent, smudge-free, fillable with custom ink, and you get 12 for under $3.
I hope they live up to my expectation. Someone else said they were really good and they were one of his favorite markers.

i found one of these markers

but it was empty, how would i got about replacing the ink?
would it be easier just to buy a new one?
Scratch
11-10-2005, 04:10 PM
To refill that, its gonna take some dirty work....
You can do it either of two ways:
1) By pulling the nib out (yes, u will get ink everywhere) filling it with ink, then shovin the nib back in
or
2) You get syringe, shove it through the nib, take all the ink out n fill it with ur own
Personally i havent tried either way but im sure theyd both work fine
careful for the fumes man :D
scratch your way wont work cus inside of it is a sponge so u cant just empty out the marker u have to cut it in half dont take out the nib take out the sponge and the fill it with ink and find some way to put it back together still working on one your better off just buying a new one nik

BRAINE

if you put wax to seal the bottom, you can take it back off later to refill it, but its less leakproof than glue. breaking the bottom off to fill it would be good though. then secure the nib so it doesnt leak.

I have a marker maintenence question, I have a OTR .6 copper marker, and it no longer makes a bright clean copper line, it makes a translucent, shitty line, I have tried shaking it, so I think perhaps it got wet, would that affect it and is it possible to reverse the effect?
I also have a Montana XXL green marker, and it is experiencing a similiar problem, and there is also condensation under the cap, I assume that is bad, are the markers dead, or can the be saved?

well water in the paint is deffinitly ganna mess it up.
but the first one, copper one, sounds like its empty.
but im not totally sure.
BRAINE

try priming them alot or pushing the valving down while writing.
~AN~Skunk
11-15-2005, 05:48 PM
priming? The copper isn't empty, 'cause it's got a clear bodya nd I can see the paint swishin around.
nerdx
11-15-2005, 05:57 PM
get a peice of cardboard or something that you dont care about getting paint on, and press the marker down on that, like you know how the nib on it does like a pump action. just keep pumping it up and down and see if that will help it to flow better, it should work and get rid of the streaks.

What's included in the OTR Special Package at the bombingscience shop?
The link is this:
http://bombingscience.com/catalog.htm?item=127
The picture has a Hard2Buff, Flowpen, scrawl pen, mini hard to buff.
But when you pick the colors it gives me choices for a flowpen, scrawl pen, mini paint pen (the .160), and a 0.60. So which set do i get? The picture or the pick? Also, which 0.60 do i get? A paintmarker 0.60 or a molotow 0.60?
PLEASE NOTE: This 4 OTR markers package contains other markers that are not on the picture. In this pack you get a OTR.084 (Flowpen), a OTR.060, a OTR.160 and a OTR.080... and you save 10% on the regular price!

the 15mm nib (jumbo) works real good with otr ink, just dont shake it or the ink flies out of the nib all over the inside of the cap, then gets on your hand when removing the cap.

since its made for glue, which is thicker when you put in ink or paint it tends to fly out.
thats why i buy the zig postermans. its just my theroy but i think the nibs on the postermans are less porus, meaning they dont let as much ink flow through. in turn you dont have that leaking out of the nib problem you do with the 2ways.

Hey guys i just got my new stuff.
12 Eberhard Faber 3000 markers (12 for $2.99!) and a Uni-Paint medium tip red ($2.99 at staples).
Heres teh flix:

My new Uni-Paint

Box of 12 eberhard fabers.

Eberhards all poored out

Eberhard Faber 3000 Chisel tip black uncapped
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/5552/picture86it.jpg
how both of em write (uni on top)
They're both pretty good. The eberhards are especially a good deal because its like getting 12 pilots for under 3 bux. You can open em up and fill em with your own ink or paint..and the black permanent ink that comes with it is good. The chisel tip writes like a marks-a-lot and those are better than sharpie. The uni-paint is like my sakura pen-touch paint pen..except less drippy. The uni-paint draws better and has a better tip compared to my sakura paint pen.
Anyways I really recommend you guys buy both or atleast the eberhard fabers.

I have 6 yellow wood crayons, 1 Blue Magnum, 3 king sized, 1 markel streak, 2 meanstreaks, 1 home made red ink marker, 2 kiwis( krink and garden green)
Here's a recipe for a cool marker, for those who dont always want huge lines. Take a "Sanford COLORIFIC gel marker" (these are cheap and can be found where crayola markers usualy are), pull off the nib tube which connects to the body, (this should snap off) put in ink/paint, and a marble, then reconnect thenib part, tape it shut so it dosnt leak, then shake it up and llightly press down on the nib. the nib is bullet-style about the size of a marksalot. I personally like it for catchin small drippy tags in the day

think of a prit stick that isnt glue, but a waxy paint
like if you wrote on something with a candle, or a crayon, but it comes out looking better.
also, the glue markers nibs i dont think are over pourus, i just have really thin ink.
plus, i cant find postermans anywhere within like 10 miles, and the one place i know that has them is far and only has 15mm and theyre expensive as fuck.

I just found this new mop at staples.com. I might goto the store and pick one up. They're like 50 cents each and they look about the size of an otr mini.

You can find em here:

Or at any staples store.
The sponge looks identical to the kiwi mop sponges except this one is missing a cap.

everytime i try to refill a kiwi with a paint/thinner mixture, the sponge on the valve falls off after about 2 tags. is this because the thinner is dissolving the glue that holds it on, or am i just pressing too hard? if anyone can offer me a solution to this problem, it would be greatly appreciated

just try new things. i use rubbing alcohol instead of thinner because i think it dries faster and has a cool effect, ive heard of people using nail polish remover and stuff too.

why do you want to turn your pilot into a paint pen. ink is more perminant. and if you really want to then you could take out the cotton and fasten a zig top on or something. maybe you could thin it down really well and glue a kiwi head on it. use your imagination

i bought it. i like it.
it is really thin, but dries super fast
so you dont have to worry about smears even with the highest flowing mop.
unless you put your ass on it withing like 1 second.
its really opaque black too, just put it in a 2way glue jumbo and your all set.

i bought some sharpie chisel tip industrial markers
and some crayola slick stix.
the slick stix are tight, dry fast, dont smear, but only good on light surfaces (not very opaque.)
the sharpie industrials are bomb. they stain good because theyre for use on construction sites, i.e. fade and solvent resistant
edit: i got my markals in the mail yesterday, theyre nice.

these are the Crayola "slick stix"
to the right, is how the colors look when they write
not opaque, but i think they come out slightly better than crayons.
it says on the package warning: stains some materials/surfaces
so i dont think it will wash off in the rain
im gonna test them tonight, along with my livestock marker which i got from markal
if they wash off in the snow, ill update.

12-08-2005, 11:44 AM
I made a super drippy marker the other day....
1. cut off the very end of a plastic blunt case (white owl ones is ideal)
2. make a nib out of a sock and glue it in the end that you just cut.
3. make a syringe like pump that fits into the middle of the case securley, i used a dead decocolor marker and wrapped it once with ducktape to make it seal.
4. make some ink... brake fluid and bucket paint works real good.
5. fill the case about halfway with paint, put the top back on it, seal it with some tape and put the shit into a bag cuz it leaks all over the place.
6. roll and smoke the blunt that is left over.
7. when u go to hit it up, put the pump into the marker and as your writing slowly push the pump through the tube, the faster u push, the more drippy that shit gets.

i find the scrawl pen better for smooth surfaces because it almost never comes off and is visible whilst on concrete it looks like shit (there are exceptions) i was testing it at school that was 4 months ago and they clean the toilets everyday they cleaned off kiwi ink but not my paint ant not the scrawl pen and a intresting effect is going over the scrawl pen with kiwi ink :)

one of the best markers i ever made was from a bottle of refill ink from office max. just rip the little spout off and use a chalkboard eraser for a nib. you can sqeeze it to make it as drippy as you like or just get the nib wet and it's like a pilot

actually
from my experience decos are really easy to buff
or at least "goof off" gets it off really easily

Xylene is used as a solvent, to manufacture petrol, as a raw material to manufacture chemicals used to make polyester fibre, and to make dyes, paints, lacquers, and insecticides. It is used to sterilize some materials.
.. which means just because a marker has xylene in it , doesnt mean its hard 2 buff
