yeah cuz they make paint ones, but make sure its really thin, other wisw itll cog, and you should probably change the nib to

i usually use 3/4 paint with 1/4 thinner. so the ratio would be 3:1. hasn't failed me yet.

prety much only the ink unless you do the same color because it would work you just gotta use the same color basically so it doesnt mess your nib up.... if your using paint through a metal ball or marble in the canister so you can shake and stir it up..

otr makes valve markers for paint.otr's paint is okay. i mean the colors are awsome but once you get enough experience w/ making your own paint/ink you can get the same colors or even better ones by adding stuff like metal shavings or pearl flake. if i were you though id drop the otrs and go for an nyc mop its the best ive used for paint and ink.

take it apart
throw away all part of the valve and the nib, too
you now have 3 plastic pieces.
fill it with homemade ink or paint, and put a nib made of reall pourous felt or harder sponge so itll last a long time
seal it all back together.

you take the threaded part with the nib and shit off, you pull the valve out, you pour ink in.

the threads are usually glued so its hard to remove, try using vice grips or something.

i think its left hand threaded, too, like zig and mtn markers, but im not sure.

first off i dont make markers too often,

i usally make hotel shampoo bottle markers or deodarent mops, and use eraser nibs, then i make ink, and when i mix it 1/4 thinner, 3/4 rust free paint, my nibs dry up within 1 day. i use a cap, and usally put em in a plastic bag. how long do ur guy`s homemade markers ussualy last?

I took a pic so it showed the name, Basicly its a roll on deoderant with a twist on sealed top. Check like wallgreens or something but I just found that shit in my bathroom. Never heard of it otherwise though. ;)

which markers on the market are the most opaque and are montana markers worth the money??

paint markers are usually more opaque than ink.

h2b is pretty opaque ink, but it definitely is not hard to remove.

grog looks good as hell, got some in the mail today, waiting until some of my markers start drying up to use it though.


mtn markers are the same as zig postermans with slightly different colors.
waterbased pigment ink, comes off easy but is really opaque and lasts through rain at least.

just buy refill ink or paint and throw it in an emptied out 2way or woodcraft or terra cotta or etc etc etc michaels marker.


pilots are on bs shop, and sams club website, and many others. hard as hell to find in stores otherwise


i got an ultrawide and grog in the mail today, im so excited. i put otr ink in the ultrawide though because i may as well use it all up before i use the grog.

i got a prblen with my homemade markers,

1st: my nibs always fall in to my marker.
(i tryed to glue them in but then the cap doesnt fit on, or it doesnt let enuogh ink through the nib.)

2nd: when i write with them, the nib picks up some of the paint, and makes these gay streak line thingy through my letters.

so far iv made a deodarent stick mop, a hotel shampoo bottle mop, and modded a "paint pen" ,( by taking everything out with plyers and repelacing the empty catrige with some "ghetto krink" and an eraser nib.)

any suggestions to what i can to to not get those problems?

i think you are talking about those kiwi mops with the bigger ink resovior.

and if you have problems with nibs and streaking and flow, etc. try using ink, it flows better and leave less streaks.
the cap thing i cant help you with, i pretty much just use refillable markers and kiwi mops.
window glass marker/mops are good too, usually you have to take the valve thing out to get better flow.

its a film canister.
you put cotton balls or felt in it, saturate them with ink, add a very tight nib (rolled up felt) glue it a lil bit but not too much or itll wreck it.
use stock lid if you make nib have a low enough profile.
wrek stuff.




not hard.
a dope way to make a marker is take an old paint marker, take the cap and nib and valve and all the extra parts besides the tube off.
cut the tube down to like 4 inches long or so, so its real compact.
roll up felt and pour ink in it, then add a nib and find a cap.
caps can be made of anything, just look for roundstuff with one open end.


another awesome marker is a do it yourself flopen

you take a posterman, zig 2way glue, woodcraft, garden craft, any marker you want really with a big nib.
all those can be found in various sizes at michaels.
take it home, take the top and the neck off. throw the valve and shit in the trash with the watery paint you poured out of it.
keep the cap, nib, and plastic top kind of screw on part.

set the nib aside, you might need it for a replacement on another marker.

use felt or any material you want to make a nib, and basically fold down some felt into a long rectanguler shape thatll fit in this marker. use a tiny tiny bit of krazy glue on each short side of the nib, so it doesnt clog the nib up, just enough to keep it in place.
fill resovior with ink, screw on top with the home made nib, and cap it.

the zig markers are really easy squeezy, so you can make it drip if you want it to.

also, you can just use the stock nib instead of going through extra trouble to make one, but its more likely to fall out and leak large drops of ink all over once its slightly used.

especially on garden craft markers. those nibs fall out alot.

heat up where the threaded part is with a lighter or open flame, itll soften the glue holding it on.
twist it like a sunofabitch. should turn opposite to what a regular bolt would (to the right) to loosen. most markers are "left hand thread"

I don&#39;t know if this will help anyone out, but I found this roll on (http://a1061.g.akamai.net/7/1061/5412/home/www.walgreens.com/dbimagecache/237802.jpg) at wallgreens and this is what I did.
Open the top and pop out ball with a screwdrover or whatever works.
Dump deodorant out and rinse inside out with water.
take one of these (http://a1061.g.akamai.net/7/1061/5412/home/www.walgreens.com/dbimagecache/123652.gif)
And take the nib off. the nib fits in the top of the deodorant perfectly with out falling in or out.
Fill deodorant bottle with ink of choice and pop the kiwi nib on the bottle.
Screw cap on and go crush.
This bottle shouldnt leak unless it is squeezed hard.

Something I learned the other day, the hard way.

I made a glue pen marker like Chillens a fre hundred pages back. I out straight ink in it to get the most amount it could hold, And to feel like a uber leet graffer I put a metal ball berring in it. When shook the marker witht the cap on, the mixing ball made the ink get air bubbles and foam up. Also since it had like nothing to help restrict the flow it rose up out the nib. This produced nice drips but in the future im not going to put a mixing ball. Also im going to place a strip of fabric in the reservoir to absorbe some flow.

Hey, I&#39;d just like to say thanks for the sweet guide. I made a bottle of ink and then made a marker outa chaptick container. It works great&#33; I did the candlewax thing so none would leak, and then taped and glued a torn up rag to the top. I got some ink on the side of it so I just spray painted the whole container black. It&#39;s so pimped&#33;

I know. ( i&#39;m dutch and i dont know how to say it but i&#39;m going to try). When you wanna fade to markers you have to put some paint from 1 marker on the other.
I tell you how to do that. Dip with one color (big side of the touch marker) on the other. Dont hold it on the marker cuz that isnt cuz. Just touch it and pull it away touch it and pull it away. You&#39;ve got one color now on the other marker. When you make a line now the colors will fade

i made a 5 inch wide marker out of a bottle. and a 9 inch w/ a vhs tape. and why would you want "drips" when using ink. ink tags should have clean sharp lines w/ no drips. any toy can make a marker and scribble a drippy tag on a wall. experience doesn&#39;t come to you over night. argue w/ me after you&#39;ve dedicated 5 years to graff.

btw-if it is 1 inch wide that means your finger is also about that wide, you got a fat finger. looks more like 1/2 inch at best.

any marker wider than like 3 inches is useless.
just use paint
or you can get one of those pocket spray jobs for leather dye and fill it with some stainer.

drips for ink are fresh as hell, you want it to be juicy, the more ink that you use, the more it covers the surface and will be harder to buff.

I&#39;ve got one of those blue Zig scrapbooking glue pens on the right. I like it, but you have to drill a hole in the side and duct tape it to fill it with ink. They have a smaller pocket sized model I REALLY like cuzz it&#39;s refillable without any drilling involved. Same pump system as the flowpen or the gluepen (same pen, just not easilly refillable)

How much does that Grog sell thru Graff stores? That looks like a hot buy. :ph34r:

yea Cezr the top pops off. Its a left-handed thread so twist it the opposite way. They put a shitload of glue on it. Finished modding both the Zig and Woodcraft if you call taking the top off and washing the nib out modifing.

yea all those zig markers are left hand threaded or whatever the technical term is. theyre the same as montana markers though (mtnmtn)
i have 3 of those glue markers filled with ink, theyre prety awesome, but if you push down too much and make them drip, when you put the cap on ink gathers up in it and splashes in your eyes when you try to use it.


and if you do unscrew it to refill it, make sure the valve is back on right, because i had a white woodcraft that the valve seal was off center on and it screwed the whole marker up and i couldnt screw the top on all the way, and it leaked brake fluid and other shit all over my shelf in my room. it had some sick homemade shit in it for staining plastics, but i tossed it (last year)


dump that woodcraft out too, if you have the ink. the ink in those sucks, doesnt drip, and the marker uses it all up really fast.

i refilled a marker similar and i couldn&#39;t get the cap of either. i just cut off the top with and x-acto filled it then put plumbers tape around the cut and then electrical tape around that

yo i made this dope ass marker.. i used a small pocket ( free hotel size) shower gel bottle, it had a metal lid whick woz quite big, so i cut some whiteboard eraser felt, filled the bottle up with some thinned out bucket paint in it, then i jammed the felt in the top, it fitted so perfect no leaks, nice and juicy&#33;&#33; so i went out and wrecked shit, the paint woz totally opaque and the felt did not give dodgy streaks in my tags, so yeh..

its a cylinder for somthing but i kinda modded it a little bit

so i filled it with ink..and it held alot of ink&#33;
then i took a marsh 99 nib and screwed it into the hole (needed a screwing adapter)(costs like 75 cents)
so now it has a nib where that hole is, and it looks clean too&#33; and it has this shaft coming out of the end
when you push the shaft in you get more ink flow for controlled drips...so when you push,ink rushes to the tip and drips..pull the shaft back out to pull the ink to the back of the cylinder and stops driping

when you push the shaft into the cylinder it looks like this

get crafts etc brand paint markers (hobby lobby) if you want something good and permanent on the cheap, its like 2 dollars, way better than decos, and the paint smells alot more strong like theres harsher solvents in them. and you can over pump the nib and push it all the way down while you write and get near pilot sized round lines, but itll drip sometimes and get really messy. theyre good shit though.


otrs are a waste of money though.
get a 2way glue, woodcraft, or posterman and put in k in it
or get a terra cotta marker from garden craft, same thing basically.
or get a free broad tip paint valve marker from markal

edit: also, REAL graffiti ink is worth the money if you dont want to make it and you need it. toys dont need it. after youve been in the game a minute and need some stainers to get up harder, and you have a good handstyle, buy ink

for me its OTR HTB mini...OTR doesnt suck, well atliest in my opinion..not everyone like shity homemade busted markers

well any way this marker consists of

items:

1. roll on deoderant
2. your favorite ink
3. school eraser
4. knife( seradid.. like a saw ) or box cutter
5. sicsors
6. electrical tape..black or whatever
7. nut, bolt, rock, marbel, or something with some wieght thats small
8. saw
9. screw drive flat head

direction:

1. take top off

2. get saw and cut a small slot into the roller ball you need to hold the ball inplace so it doesnt move on you

3. take the screw driver or the box cutter once the slot is deep enough to see inside of the ball

4. now use either the screw driver or box cutter blade to stick in the slot and prey the ball out ( dont cut yourself with the box cutter )

5. empty out contents and rinse out and dry

6. take the eraser and knife and slide the blade down in between the backing and the felt and cut back and forth while pushing down to cut the strings that hold the felt to the backing

7. seperate the pieces of felt into idividule strips

8. now roll up the pieces of felt like a spiral

9. next judge how much you need to fill the hole and cut off the extra

10. take electrical tape and rap around the out side of the felt spiral circle usually like 3 to 4 times then make sure to cut ( not try to pull the tape like snap it off )

11. then test fit make sure it looks like a little hockey puck or like a cookie

12.squeze it together and try and wedge it in it has to fit snuggly but also loose enough to get back out

13. take it back out

14. take a nut, bolt, rock, marbel, or something with some weight thats small enough to fit into the cavity or hole of the container

15. fill with ink until about where the neck of it is ( or smaller hole )

16. jam felt ring or hockey puck ( nib ) thing back into the container

17. make sure some of the tape is showing on the nib

18.rap electrical tape around the rim and around the nib but only where you can see the tape creating a seal

19. take botel of ink and pour some on to the nib while its in the container( to moisten the nib for ink flow )

20. cap ink and turn the marker up side down and squeeze alittle until it gets juicy and wet ( my favorite part )

21. go use that shit and be merry you wont be let down you can drip if you want or you can make hard lines

i saw a dry erase board eraser that had some of that erasing chemical in it, but it looked like an OTR tagstar kind of, huge callig nib, i wanna dry one out and put ink in it, but idn how well itd work. plus i have too many markers already

I just made a kiwi mop but i lost the nib so i put a piece of the sponge in as the nib. but the thing is i have no superglue to hold it in. would the marker still work if the nib isnt fastened? and if it wont, is there anything other than glue i can use to fasten it... bah

you lost the nib and you just made it? wow.

use duct tape. it doesn&#39;t get any more simple than that.

r aerosol art markers any good?
like do they fade and is they opaque?
r they hard to buff

theyre like the same thing as OTR. i think montana german produces them.

the paint ones are opaque, the ink ones are not except possibly the black.

the paint in those (i bought some) is really thin and opaque, but its like an alcohol oil based type thing, its wierd. dries fast, drips, but doesnt stain

never used the ink ones, but i assume theyre just like otrs.

lol i found the propper nib for my mop went out and slapped a few tags and the nib ripped off. i tried a few tags without the nib and it didnt look bad but now i need to get more fucking nibs

Dont fuck with etch youngin, I burn my finger 3 days ago and it still hurts. And my boy told me to smell the nib so I did cause I was curious and that shit made my lungs litterally hurt. :(
But yea dont expect to buy it. A small one cost like &#036;30 and you have to be 21 I think and they only sell it in PearlPaints that I know of and you cant rack it cause its locked up. Out of town racking would be best.

using a kiwi mop without a nib is actually not too bad. it really depends the thickness of your paint.

my nib fell of the other day and i finished the tag with crazy drips. i&#39;m probably not even going to get a new nib for it.
