yo man, my pastel tags r lasting, theyve been there for a month and show no signs of fading, for how much they cost (nothing) its a pretty good deal :), they only really look good on wood and cement, glossy surfaces r hard to tags

Pastels are not really known for fading, more along the lines of whiping off.

I use solid, oil based paint sticks sometimes but I have plenty of solid sakuras.





I hear the ink in markathons is good, couldnt hurt to add fish oil or brake fluid.
A marker of that size would only need like five drops

Fact of the matter is, in my opinion (atleast), pentel whites are consisting of more oil in them than ink itself.

Not worth the racking time, or money if you buy.

i gave up on markers, i just use my kiwi mop. Making your own ink is harder than mixing w/e 2-3 rusto buckets of paint to get the color you want.. add a little paint thiner and a few drops of brake fluid...

I've been rocking that pink lately... Next up is baby blue i think :p

theres not usually any xylene in paint itself.. its the thinner they use.. becuause sometime they cant get some of the ingredients to go through the pump.. but

Yeah i LOVE my posca's... It just sucks cause you need ink to use em. Paint wont work as well, at least for me it didnt. I had to make it super thin but then it wouldnt hold at all, everything would drip and you couldnt read anything.
The nib is too think for normal paint to go through it completely, so it always comes out super thin :(
But if you can get really good ink, or make it yourself, then you're golden.

As for the silver paint, i keet mine for a long time in the same coke bottle and nothing happened to the plastic... So it shouldnt be a prob in the posca.

Just out of curiousity, how long does a kiwi marker last before you need to throw it away?
it matters how you use it, rough surfaces will eat up the nib. it also depends on what kind if ink you use. if your using some hard staining stuff, it will weaken the nib when it becomes wet.


yeah i use acrylic cuz i dont wanna pay for oil based. its just gonna get buffed anyway so fuck that. if i can steal some i might try it
acrylic paint does have some nice colors that are more commonly found than oil base...

so simple to make
any amount of india ink (preferably black)
any amount of leather dye (preferably black)
any amount of acrylic paint (preferably black)
some FINE (i mean like your about to snort it like coke fine) charcoal powder
any amount of dot 3 (optional)
any amount of black zig (optional)

yes this is waterbased
but its opaque as anything
and works good

i used 3 bottles of india ink
and 1 bottle of higgins eternal (not really that good of stuff but it says its permanent)
1 kiwi thing full of black kiwi leather dye
a peice of charcoal smashed up very finely for opaqueness (did not use it all only about 1/4 of it)
like 2 black zigs, 2 caps full of dot 3, and a small amount of black acrylic paint

works great in zigs and other types of pump markers
and drips if you write with the nib press down
opaque as anything
weatherproof and waterproof
only downer is its water based...

I got a pentel white and a sharpie white, How come all my markers flow like shit and are all streaky when I tag? Is this something Im doing wrong or is it the flow of the ink/ paint through the nib?

Pentel whites have to be shaken like a mother fucker, and always store them capside down to increase the paint color.

my nib is solid. i filled it with pilot ink "i changed the nib so it dont mix colors" and then i took it out. and now i find out that its solid. its not fluffy nemore. no gk can flow threw it anymore. anyway to fix it? i wanna try nailpolish remover but i cant find it. nethin else?

I made a marker out of an old marks alot marker, one of the big ones. I just took the nib out and filled it with ink. But I made the nib really thick and it took awhile to get ink to it. But it's really clean, like no drips or streaks or anything. I don't really like messy shit that much,

Making a mold and melting plastic into the mold will not make you a cap, but a solid single, shaped piece of plastic..

1) Mold clay to size and shape you need, but a hair smaller - so it would be a negative mold of the cap (eg, the inside of the cap.)

2) Melt plastic over clay mold.

3) you now have a cap.

It's not messy at all, has a screw to block flow or release the flow. The lines are a bit bigger than a kiwi, and this marker will last a lifetime. Works on any surface...
