3D/Shadow chisel tip marker:
1. Get a chisel rip marker.
2. Get a exacto knife.
3. Cut the 4th or the part of the tip (depending how much 3D you want, the more you cut, the more 3D you'll get).
4. Start bombing with your freaky marker, and you'll get some stuff like this:

pull off the plastic thing with the sponge on it and be careful with it caue you dont wanna get leather dye on anything. dump out the contents(unless you wanna keep them) take out the little green thing in the sponge part you took off, fill it with krink or whatever you want and bam! you got yourself a mop

I made a marker today with a liquid paper:
1. Get off the liquid and clean the bottle.
2. Get out the nib (to make it wider).
3. Add any ink you want, but I added a homemade, check the ink recipies.
I know its not a really good marker, but something is something.

you need something thick like an eraser tip that will absorb the ink, then allow you to spread it. the eraser will soak up the ink, then allow you to write with it. if you turn your mop upside down, ink wont come out until you press the nib against something. if you do that with a sock, the ink will leak right through.

I'm not good at making marker modifications at all, it's just that I need some practice, but the most recent mod I've made if you can even call it a mod was upgrading my sakura solid markers to a two color streak. The first one I made was horibble, a whole piece of paint came off and it was a mess, but the second one I was pretty satisfied with it still had the normal point even after I stuck it together. It just goes to show it does take practice, i'm still happy though becuase I figured out how to create that two color technique.

Any more bright ideas???
i know this isn't a marker mod, but alot of people look here to get info on good permanent inks, that dont fade or get buffed easy. ever heard of sharpie paint? i know here in ottawa you can pick'm up at wallacks, they come in both waterbased, and oil based. the water based series has a bigger marker, and comparable quality to montana, but like half the price. but the oil based, good lord, those are my babies. when i was mad toy i picked a couple up, and wrote all over my school, this was last year. right now, and three coats of paint later, they can be seen right through the paint, no less faint or discolored. pick some up, they fucking own. also, if you hold down the nib while you write, it can get pretty drippy, but iether way you write with it, its very opaque and permanent.

i know this isn't a marker mod, but alot of people look here to get info on good permanent inks, that dont fade or get buffed easy. ever heard of sharpie paint? i know here in ottawa you can pick'm up at wallacks, they come in both waterbased, and oil based. the water based series has a bigger marker, and comparable quality to montana, but like half the price. but the oil based, good lord, those are my babies. when i was mad toy i picked a couple up, and wrote all over my school, this was last year. right now, and three coats of paint later, they can be seen right through the paint, no less faint or discolored. pick some up, they fucking own. also, if you hold down the nib while you write, it can get pretty drippy, but iether way you write with it, its very opaque and permanent.
meh, if your gonna be at wallacks i suggest picking up pilot ink also ANZA if ur from ottawa go to norml and pick up those you can pick up sharpie paints there for the same price and SUPPORT UR LOCAL GRAFFITI SHOP!

i have made a mop out of a chapstick container, twist the end so the chapstick is all the way out, twist it back down so the little plastic thing is back at the bottom. then take a little hot glue and just block off the bottom, prevents leaks. i then filled it with ink and put a felt eraser nib on it. the origional cap will go back on.
writes great, small, and doesnt leak in your pocket.

nothing is unbuffable, i dont know how much ive had to stress that...every single thing can be buffed, whether its being sprayed with water and scratched to getting sand blasted...ever ink and paint can be buffed!
your best bet is to rock a uni paint marker and a pilot
Havoc411

i wouldnt worry about buffability. id worry more aout opacity and quantity. id rather have a bucket full of nice opaque ink than a big gulp full of unbuffable ink

kiwi shoe polish bottle and mini deoderent stick bottles like testers or w/e work good also the face paint markers work good to
i would have to say the best mop i have made was out of a "shout stain remover" bottle with the little srubber thing no the top.
squeez all the shout out and wash inside
then fill with paint and put a small sock over the spikey things on the top and it works like mad.. the paint just goes into the sock and runs out and leaves mad srips i will get some pics in a bit

mmmmm pilots...
congradulations on your purchase! pilots are great...it does write on rough surfaces very clean, but, it does mess up the nib, and after you've messed up the nib, its hard to use it....u dont get that clean lines, yet you still have so much ink left...so i would suggest keeping it to smooth surfaces...its not that good to write in bathrooms aswell..its more of an outdoor marker since it sort of has a smell, but it will nnneevverrr fade...im workin on a way to flip the nib though, so maybe you will be able to write on rough surfaces without worry
so far, i think all u need to do is take the thing off of the body of the marker (unscrew it) then pull the nib out with a glove on...there will be a neetle through the nib, not quite in the middle..that keeps it from falling out and going too far into the marker so u cant write..so what u wanna do is, rip out the needle, and move it down a little bit (more torwards the rough part of the nib) and hammer it through the nib..then you just put the nib back on with the better part sticking out, and shwabam..
if this is confusing at all, im open to questions
rock pilots 8-)

if you just tried it how do you know its 'super permanent'?
like, what if it's gone in a week after some rain or snow hits it?
the reason we replace the shoe polish with ink/paint is not because the shoe polish doesn't work, its because it's not as good as ink or paint. but congratulations, you did manage to screw up the foam applicator on your shoe polish bottle by letting the shoe polish flow through it. oh well, replacing the foam with felt from a chalkboard eraser works better and lasts longer anyway....

i find my metallic blue flowpen's paint flows MUCH better than my molotow burners. i find that the silver and gold paint doesn't flow as well as I'd like (still flows better than my experience with Aerosol Art Bombing markers though). The Copper Molotow Burner flows good though. I'm not sure about the other metallics (violet and red i think) but I'm sure they flow as good as the blue.

bumsuckfun, yeah i have found that too..its probably because the paint in the molotows is thicker..i can barely get clean lines with mine..my blue flowpen write much better than my pink one..it also shows up on stuff better...the pink one was pissin me off so i put the ink from that into my blue one, and it made sort of a dark electric purpley violet (hooray for describing words) anyway, it sort of looks like garvey, but darker...
havoc-yeah thats why pilots are my fav. marker 8-) nice, crisp, smooth lines...perfect..they dont fade, and sometimes will stain :D

i, myself, prefer miniwides over 30mm montanas... the nib is a bit smaller (about 25mm i think) but its thinner, really good for doing waves and such.
but thats just my opinion, i have a 30mm montana and love it too... but i need to get a new nib.

yes, yes you can.

its not gonna be as good as ink though, cause thinned out paint is kinda thick when its nice and opaque but if you thin it out oo much its gonna be like writing with dirty water. so you CAN do it but i dont suggest it.

another one.. how u put that signitures on ur name thingy... i duno what the code is...

1) To make it metallic you use metallic paint. There are ways of making ink do it, but just stick to paint. It's easier.
2) To add signatures, go up to "My Controls" which is in the top right of your screen. Then scroll down a bit and go into "Edit Signature"
Havoc411
01-25-2005, 04:28 PM
its usually the ink or paint thats in it. i think therea additives thay you can buy/rack that make paint metallic.
and your signature is editable in your options thingy. or personal controlls or something like that

i all ready posted this in the step bi step thread but whatever
Guide to make a chap stick marker
1. empty out and clean a chap stick container
2.get a candle and melt some wax in the container so it makes it water proof
3.test the container with water to make sure it won't leak and if you wan't you can put some tape around the bottom to help keep it from leaking
4.cut a strip out of a sock or something for the nib
5.roll the strip and put tape around the bottom of the strip to hold it together
6.put the ink in the container
7.stick the strip in the container and if it dosen't fit cut some of the strip off and you can glue it in if it won't go in enuf that it won't come out

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE POST A GUIDE ON HOW TO MAKE AN ETCH MARKER??
bumsuckfun
01-29-2005, 11:48 PM
i think i already described howto in several different threads..
anyway, go pick up some etch bath. put into marker. write. haha... gluepens work pretty good, or face paint markers, kiwi bottles, etc. basically anything remotely mop-ish will do the job.
if you can only find etch cream (more common) thin it with water, or with vinegar, or a mixture of both... proceed to put into marker as you would with etch bath but you made need to add an agitator (like a glass marble) to shake it up so it doesn't seperate from the water.
i'll skip the etch safety since it's posted in tonnes of other threads and i noticed you said you already used your friends etch marker tonnes...
but for making it, wear some good gloves, long sleeves if you want, and if you have like glasses or anything it doesnt hurt to keep etch from splashing in your eyes... that would suck real bad.

if it's the broad uni-poscas (like the same size as flowpens, etc.) than the paint in them isn't that bad... really opaque and will last the weather... won't last the buff though.
but yeah, i refilled one with black supercolor ink and it's A-1... highly recommend since poscas are free, and the pilot ink (also free) sits on the same shelf.

if you wanna use it without pumping every 10 seconds you should have it. id just say replace it with a reg dish sponge, without the green part of course. if not just try different things out. one question though, how the fuck did you manage to fuck that part up?

you do need it because without it the marker will leak all over the place because there is nothing to absorb all the excess ink/paint.

lol i messed it up because i was fixing up an old montana marker and after i take it apart i usually put the nib in boiling water because it takes out alot of the ink u cant take just with ur hands and water and i saw the sponge thing and it still had a lot of ink in so i threw it in the water too but then it shrunk to half its size and even ripped a bit then i threw it in the dryer and it went bak to normal other than thte rip but it still works fine thanx for the help anyways

Hey i was wondering how do you make your face paint markers drippy?? I put this paint in that my parents used to paint thare room with and it really thick. So I put rubbing alcohual in it, I though that might help but it didn't really what can I use to put in it? To make it drippy. And i dont have paint thinner.

spray paint and brack fluid ^^^^
Havoc411
02-11-2005, 09:00 PM
dont put spraypaint in markers. when you shake it it creates its own pressure and it'll eventually pop the marker if left to build up
bumsuckfun
02-11-2005, 10:48 PM
listen, chances are your parents used latex paint. which means it is thinned with water. but no matter what, the paint you're going to make is shitty. i know its 'cool' and all to try to be Magiver and make your ink out of shit lying around your house, but sometimes you need to spend money to save money (and actually have the result turn out good). So go drop a few dollars, and buy some oil-based paint, some paint thinner (or mineral spirits, or turpentine, or varsol), mix 2/3 paint to 1/3 thinner and put it in your face painter.
don't add spray paint, it creates its own pressure, from movement (and we all know you aren't going to be able to hold that marker perfectly still and upright all the time) and from temperature changes (and you can't control that). so yeah, it'll pop your marker... don't use spray paint.
and don't thin it with brake fluid... not only does it not mix well, but that shit would never dry, and seeing how latex paint isn't the most permanent thing on the face of the earth, you probably would find yourself having been better off with the stock facepainter paint... and that shit SUCKS.

02-18-2005, 03:24 PM
hah i think you only need a metal-cased marker if your adding shitloads of brake fluid.
my ghetto krink has brake fluid, and if i leave it in like a disposable plastic cup, or a styrofoam cup, it'll eat through it, but so far i've never had it eat through a kiwi bottle or OTR, or uniposca.
THEPOSTWHORE5000
02-18-2005, 05:46 PM
yeah, and if you add shitloads of breakfluid, your ink wont dry :D from what i've read.
hey, why doesnt breakfluid eat through the plastice bottle that it comes in, yet if its added to an ink (which makes the ink maybe 5% breakfluid), it can eat through plastics?
