It funny man once he Tell you or if he dosen't I got you.
But I never used MTN befor just the Reg. BUT the Wide marker i her was good.
immoral
03-03-2009, 09:45 PM
If I went with a Wide marker, like the MTN, I wouldn't go with the silver. Here's what you should do... Order an empty Molotow masterpiece then rack tons of Pilot chromes and fill it up. That Mtn ultra wide does not have the necessary pump system like the molotow masterpiece. The masterpiece has the eight flow channels and this lets the ink even flow through the nib on all ends. The mtn wont do that and it'll just mainly get to the center and the ends will be streaky
immoral
03-03-2009, 09:47 PM
And the reason I say Pilot chrome is because this is by far the best chrome out there and in the sunlight, reminds me of alluminum foil
Basic954
03-04-2009, 11:22 AM
Have you actually compared it to any other chromes like grog or are you just saying that. Cus if it really is the best than I'm really fucking happy. I can rack that shit like nothing.
HëRbN

Right on thanks man, that clears it up. i have a real good homemade crome but its xylene based so itd probly eat that shit up. good lookin on the pilot crome though!
immoral
03-04-2009, 04:59 PM
The xylene hasn't eaten up any of my stuff, so hard plastics shouldn't be a factor here. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
and the grog full metal chrome has been out a while and I have heard nothing about it. I ordered the full metal white hoping it'd be dope and I am, quite frankly, dissapointed in my investment. I'll sell itto my boy cause he may like it better.
IMO, the pilot chrome is the best out there. Quick drying, weather proof, and sexy as all get out

Why is it that mr.black eats through mops but they sell the stuff in a marker?
immoral
03-04-2009, 06:59 PM
Some body styles are made of different materials, which, Naturally, react differently with one another.
Are the marker bodies Metal, like krink, or just a hard plastic?
Considering hard plastics are very durable, it may be the reason. Mops are made of thin, low grade, plastics and will warp or "melt" with Acetone based ghetto krink mixes.

The pilot Chromes are a paint markers, hince a pump system, and come in either medium point, or fine. Medium point being your classic deco style paint marker.

It won't eat the marker up.
What tends to happen with Xylene based paint fluids is that once it's put in a marker like a posterman, or any kind of marker (key word, MARKER) it dries up the nib if you leave it to rest for 24 hours after having used it. And you'll have to wash it either in your paint fluid or in xylene and pump again....

I'v wnated to do this before but didn't for two reasons, since pilot makrers, the gold and silver ones have xylene in them, doesn't that shit like pressure up the marker when you shake it, plus the xylene can eat through you marker.

nah your thinking that becasue spray paitn has xylene in it, but its actually the aerosol that makes it liek bubble up. and xylene doesnt affect polypropylene much, which is i think teh plastic on thsoe sharpies.

Woohoo. Got/Made my first marker today but I don't have any ink yet so I had to use a printer ink refill. Took a glue pen and took out all of the glue. Made a nib out of a piece of sock and some tape. Put in the ink with some bb's and put it all together. Put black electric tape on the outside and tried it out. Only really works on paper/wood. On any other surface such as plastic, or metal, the ink just smudges away and can easily be removed with water. Oh well, at least I have a marker for paper =]

Stock up on pilots if you are looking for a disposable marker.
And Peppermint ink is my specific recipe, not bought online stuff.
FYI, don't write on metal with Grog, it spiderwebs like fuckkkkkk. Mix it with a thicker ink in a 1:2 ratio. Mix a half bottle of grog with a whole bottle of DED inside job and you're set.

some times when you get a marker with really thin plastic, like those glue containers. you need to put tape, or thell be too squezzable,
immoral
03-13-2009, 07:53 AM
I'd say something similar to Can control falls into play with that. You just practice enough and you'll learn second hand nature as to how hard to squeeze, and what areas during the tag to squeeze.
If you wanna wrap it in tape, that's all you though.

ohhh my god.
NEVER making a mop again.
my hands are entirely dyed black, it's anything but innocent-looking. my counter has an ink stain on it which will NOT come off, and I could barely get the stain out of my sink. in process of cleaning, I got bleach on my BRAND NEW shirt, and in process of helping, my brother got bleach on his new shirt too!

I am a newbie, so what? My mop turned out fine, it writes well, doesn't leak, and drips on command.
I'm still in practice stages, I'm not out doing illegal walls or anything. I just want something good to get my handy down.
In any case, anyone with true respect for any art isn't going to diss the newbies, they are what keep it going and evolving.

I saw that already, but that was a constructive criticism post. Of course I already figured out the mess could have been avoided, but at least there was some intelligent input on your part instead of just rehashing what he said.
Also, I said nothing about it being difficult, it took me less than an hour from start to finish, including making my ink.
It was an angry post on my part, what can I say? But I've gotten in my first trials and errors, and if I DO decide to make another one, it'll be better, and much less messy haha.

After using a marker/mop with black ink you pretty much have to change out the nib unless your using like a dark violet. And for the ink/paint remeber that the base of most of these liquids are alcohol/acetone/xylene/oil/ and water won't clean anything off that good so it might be good to have a solvent around while messing with those chemicals just incase there is a messy situation. Also if your not familiar with making your own inks chech the ink recipe thread cause I don't want to you to join the many saying "I jst finished my dope ass staining ink of... Acrylic paint 38 1/2 pens 7 cups of alcohol and dot 3 brakefluid, and the best part is the drips omg" So ya peep it.

Im just getting into making my own ink and mops and shit.
And Im planning on making my own pen ink brew thing.
You know the thing on the first page of the recipes thread.
I was just wondering if that 99% alcohol stuff that everyone uses is the same as isopropyl alcohol? Because Ive seen some ink tuts and some have isoprpyl and some just say the 99% alcahol or whatever.

If possible, use varsol instead.
I'd reccomend you use good pens, shitty pens usually leave chunks in my ink
Queezy

You can get any type of alcohol in 99% form, you would just have to go to a specialty sciece store. Other than that, you can get denatured alc at hardware stores. Use 3/4 cup of alc to 100 pens. It will be more opaque and won't fade as fast.

the glue AND glycerine you can add so that the water stcks to the surface and doesnt just drip off. thats if you just use it striaght with water, to get rust tags or w.e.

Werd, I gotcha
This is just to those kids who dont really have the supplies at hand and they can just order through me. I plan on broadening my supply base and selling whatever I have at a cheap price.
New Paint mixes and ink mixes coming soon, as well.

Dunt know if this is tha place to ask but.
I just opened up my white uni paint to use and half of the nib was like brown and when i wrote it was like half white half clear? Why is this? Is it because I had it laying down in my shoebox? Should I stand up all my uni paints and poscas ?

just shake the shit out of it and keep pumping until white comes out.

btw, off topic but why is '****' sensored or whatever you call it?

i have no idk why **** is sensored but maybe bombingscience has some feud or beef with James and their website lol
And that's kind of a dumb question. the mini mops hold 2oz and you have a 4oz bottle of the ink. don't you think you can do the math on that one?

If I get a **** mini mop will it be able to last through a couple of refills without the nib getting fucked up? Do they sell replacement nibs or do I have to buy a new mop ?
immoral
04-10-2009, 03:04 PM
you can get your replacement nibs here on bombing science but if you want to write on smooth surfaces, you will have no problem getting fifteen refills through this marker.
I recommend 2oz. Mohair nib markers from James.
