taking out the regulator will seriously increase flow.

Also, I've never had good experiences with nib-covers and paint,

are these questions fucking serious??? like... "i have an empty kiwi mop should i put ink or paint in it?" or this kid a page back asking about krylon gold leafing pens and his barnes n noble gift card from mom and dad from xmas. like COME ON PEOPLE EXPERIMENT a little, get off the internet, and just try different shit. Read into how to make some good ink recipes, or ghetto krink, something jesus. Trial and error, just fuck around trying different things out, or just get markers made to do this shit in the first place. but really some of these questions are absolutely ridiculous.
On a dif note, got a few of the Grog cutter pump markers, the silver is def nice shit nibs are a bit fragile, but theyll write on just about anything.

"K-51 Jumbo Permanent Ink Marker
Krink K-51 markers feature high-quality dye-based inks. Vibrant, translucent colors are water resistant.
The durable extra-broad tip has two edges for different line widths and versatility.
Writes on most surfaces: Metal, canvas, painted surfaces, wood, glass, plastic, and paper are all great surfaces for Krink inks.
Large ink capacity of 30ml. Quick drying. Great for a variety of art, craft, and industrial uses.
Highest quality. Handmade in the USA.
Xylene free. Conforms to ASTM D-4236 and California Prop 65.
Colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black."

Zig Posterman + Plumber's tape = Marker that doesn't leak...or doesn't leak as much as it used to.
Just go to the section where they sell toilets at your local hardware store and you'll find it. Small round plastic case..looks like a donut shape...usually a $1 or less. It doesn't stick (non-adhevsive) but it grips to itself. Stretch it a little tight when you're putting it around the threads and give it a good 1.5 times around so when you screw on your cap it seals.

i dont know if anyone has said this yet but i love it and it works great:
Take one of those super big woodcraft markers and take everything apart then empty out the paint and you will find a little marble like the ones from grade school days hold on to it and get some of the speedball ink from michaels (its small enough for the pocket and just right for one marker) its perfect amount for one marker, dump that shit in there and put that gradeschool marble in there again throw the pieces together again and BAM! a great marker for stop light control boxes and signs anywhere it has worked great for me so far i'm gonna grab some more speedball ink and do it again shortly... you can juice it and get some good drippy tags or you can just ink it up just enough and get goos clean tags... either way everyone can get speedball ink and woodcraft markers for free (RACKING) and its nice to have!!! Good Bombing!!! :D

so i picked up a Zig Woodcraft marker and some Higgins waterproof blank ink. i tested it and the last thing this ink would ever do is stain (besides fabric). anything i should add or should i just dump the ink and get something else? i looked for something by Speedball at Michaels but they only had real tiny bottles in mulit-packs that didn't seem worth it.

Sharpie poster paints are straight, so are Elmers.
Don't use decos, or any other markers with any of the little metallic warning labels on them, they have shit in them that's dangerous to have on your skin in large amounts.

This goes a little off-topic, because this thread mostly covers shit for bombing. But I wanted to ask how to not fuck up your paint markers etc. used for blackbook/canvas work. The thing is that every time I do a canvas, I fuck some of the markers up, and it's quite a waste of money.. the tip gets covered with wet paint and "clogs".. so no paint comes out from the marker. Is there a trick, like letting the marker tip sit in a paint thinner for a while or something? (sounds logical though lol) If I would wait for all the paint to try, it wouldn't be a problem .. but most of the times, i don't have the patients, especially when I want to get some finer details down, but the overall things is still wet (previously covered with spray paint or some other media)..
And for the big drips guy, just make a shoepolish mop, or any other mop.. I think most of that shit drips the same, you should get those little krink type mops everywhere, if you're from the states.

ok i havent done any graffiti in over 15 years, yes that makes me an old man in some of your eyes lol.
I am looking to buy some decent markers , in my area i have the choice between Copic Ciao's, Prisms, Letraset's and the Touch sets.
Money wise the letrasets are the best deal but i havent seen maky people on here gabbin about them so i dont have any feedback to use as a reason to buy. copics are a bit on the high end and i would rather not spend that much for something i still consider a hobby.
without throwing out the "Crayola or Sharpie" responses i am looking for which ones people think blend best and lay down evenly without showing overlaps on fills
thanks for any serious replies

when your doing your blending how are you going about it?
something similar to thils tutorial? ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWuyVRzZZZQ ) seems the speed of swapping colors and keeping the paper wet give the best results from most things i see. i am looking to pull off smooth gradient fills and color transitions within my pieces. and need to learn the techniques as when i dropped out of the game last time i was using colored pencils with fine line pens for outlines.. oh my how things have changed over the years lol

Phat2- you asked what media I was using, its the usual- promarkers and paint marker to highlight. montana 94 for the sky. What I find makes a massive difference is using paper made for markers, the non bleed stuff- I use copic marker pad, about £5 (7 dollars) a pad, the pens dont bleed, you can add layer after layer, highly recommended, you can use 1 colour to shade by just adding layers- the bode lizard is one pen colour. And it dosent run your pens out so quick- all good!

funny enough i got mine off ebay, £20.00 for 36,set c, 2 of them were used once and the lady thought they put out too much ink for what she wanted. i do have to say they make a huge difference in coloring shit in. nice when the markers ya use dont leave inconsistent lines every place a marker happens to overlap.
since i got that set i went back to ebay and ordered another 20 different colors to round out my set , those i had to get 1 by 1 for £1.80 each with free shipping.
i still have alot to do to get to use them right but its a pleasure to use something decent for a change and just to see a nice result.

1. you want any type of plastic sqeezeable tube.i used an old acrylic paint bottle that i washed out.and 2.filled with ink. the bottle was delta ceramcoat is the brand. you can get permanent acrylic paint bottle too(what you want). so once you clean out the bottle you just have the clear bottle so make some homemade ink! 3.for the nib i used the rough part of the top of a sponge. you can just peel it off you want to roll it up then fold it in. then slide in make the nib the way you want. i tryed this and it works so well. the ink flows perfectly through it you can even do non drippy tags. hope it helped for outdoor graffiti artists like me.

YOU KNOW THAT COPICS ARE LIKE THE SINGLE MOST EASILY STOLEN MARKERS OUT THERE RIGHT? hit up HOBBY LOBBY OR MICHEALS AND CHECK IT.THERES LIKE ONE CAMERA IN THE WHOLE GODDAMN STORE MAN.ITS ALL OLD PEOPLE AND LONELY MIDDLE AGED WOMEN WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO BUT KNIT AND BUILD WREATHS THAT SHOP THERE..THEY ARENT PRIME SUSPECTS FOR RACKING HAHAHA.
seriously.you can boost like 3 or 4 a dat and keep coming back and within a couple of weeks you have a nice little stack of decent markers for fucking free.and little effort involved.

Have you guys seen the markers for the newest Sharpie Oil-Based? The nib-style and size is nearly identical to the K-71. And since they're oil-based, it'd be kind of like having GK in a marker...
I got like 5. I'll let you guys know how they are

Michael's Arts and Crafts, surprisingly. They have this brand new 8 foot box of sharpie paints. Just out in the open, too. I plan on going back sometime today or tomorrow to grab some oil-based and some water-based. I need colors for slaps. aha.

Homemade mop out of a Rubber Stamp cleaner.
Rubber stamp cleaner found at micheals or any craft store
they come with some shit cleaning stuff in side so make sure u get it out.
If your accidently get some of that shit on the nib make sure you get all the soap out of it.
just fill it up with ink. i used grog buff proof.
then cap it. and bomb.

has anybody used 1 of dem white out pens
BoomSlang
07-22-2010, 12:43 PM
Yep bud, only thing i can advise is dont bother wasting your time. Messy, hard to control, and most of the time the white out dries on the tip leaving little chunks in your work. Better off getting either a deco or posca white paint pen. Much more control and alot less issues than the white out.

For real though, if you are feeling shitty about white out pens, cop a presto.
If you can't get those to flow well for you, then it's you, not the marker.

Love silver uni-paints, silver deco colors with a fattend nib, white-out pens, and mops.
they're all just too buttery. not really down for fat paint markers unless your style suits it, otherwise it just looks tacky. my 2 cents.
