ok, how do i fix this problem, when i spray it doesnt spray out clean but in these beads or dropletsand its really shitty looking, Do i shake longer? is it the surface? and also it only really happens to lighter shades, like whitre and yellows, and occasionally some reds. help, and what are some techniques to not make it run

no not all cans, darker colors and shades like blues and black are nice, solid, and clean

but lighter shades look very shitty and dont show up well, and i know you have to do layers in some cases but this is very back looking

It's most likely the caps but it could also be that maybe as your painting your pushing the cap at an angle slightly, that can also cause that.

im pretty sure its the cap. its either clogged or clogged. i dont bother with soaking caps in thinner too much anymore, when the cap is through i just take it off the can and throw it

i had the same prob with some paint i had a while ago, it turned out to be the brand...shit brand shit paint, shaking helps a lil but its easyer to buy good quality paint.

what brand were you using if you still find that you still arent getting clean lines with a new cap and you have shaken the can for 4 minutes try rubbing a small amount of paint thinner round the female part of the can. As paint drips on the can cause the cap not to fit right and you will get wank lnes.

if i do a background with a roller how long does it take to dry before i can do the piece over it

depends on the paint. i think you just wait until its dry enough that you can touch it without making a huge mess, bunt i have never really done it.
but to increase drying times, you can use japan dryer or paint thinner on oil paints, and floetrol (latex paint thinner) on latex paint instead of water.
those dude who paint apartments with those wagnor-type sprayers for a living use floetrol and mix it like 15-20% of the total mixture. it makes the paint cover more and dry super fast.

and one often overlooked way to reduce drips is to spray from far away from the wall (5-10 inches or so) your lines will be softer, but once you get used to controlling cans from a distance and maintaining that distance its a godsend. plus otherwise its hard as hell (for me ) to get fat lines with any rusto products unless using german caps

when i spray from 8 inches or so i can get 3 inch lines with painters touch and a pink dot, and i never could before.

and then you can move your hand slower to be more accurate if you spray from farther away, like if you want to have your outline and fill match up correctly on throws.

pressure dumping is pretty sweet too, i have heard.
i almost never do it, but i have qa few cans of rusto fblack and theyre on their last legs as far as pressure, but they still have alot of paint in them ( i clean my caps alot) so i can get real accurate lines from close up with few drips because the pressure is practically gone

I have to agree with these hedz on this. that wal mart colorplace shit doesnt do the same job as say krylon or rusto. I dont fuck with the high dollar montana shit, but the better the paint the better the spray. go test it out a can of 99 cent shit versus krylon. use a ny fat on both one is clean and flares well (krylon) the other shoots like shit. I only rack the cheap in one color black, and skinny caps are pretty much the only thing that works on it. Other than that upgrade your rackin skills or go buy some shit. As far as runs with red and yellow, true they do run more, they are less paint based and more colorant based which simply means they are thinner. A good rule of thumb for ya. Shake for a minute after the ball starts to rattle, then swing the can so the ball rolls around in the bottom of the can. de de dee. thought all yall knew this.

oh and one more thing for smer, wait at least 15 minutes, after dropping the background with a roller if using latex, shoot immediately if oil. and my boy braine knows some shit too, a painter too are we? But floetrol doesnt make it dry faster, it actually extend dry time for longer workability, jap dry is only for oil based but word up. spread the knowledge. stay up.

It depends.

If you use silver paint for your fill, yeah, you have to wait until it's cpmpletely dry, or the silver will eat your outline. I also have that problem with flat white krylon, but if your fill is dusty enough you should be able to do it immediately afterwards, except with silver. If you do a solid fill, best to wait.

the new(not really) painters touch caps are too high pressure for my taste. i find it really hard to get a dripless fill out of them. i'll stick with regular rusto thankyou verymuch.
krylon used to be my paint of choice but they went way downhill.....some nice new colors, but like 2 times more watery.. its crap nowadays!

Pink dots, they'll really kill your paintquick though...I'd say for piecing, the most efficient thing to do would be ..use a german outline. They're really think but can fill and cover fine, using very little paint

sabotaz is matte, so it dries faster. sabotaz has a variable pressure valve system giving more control. sabotaz is all weather, so you can leave it sitting in the snow or whatever and it won't freeze. I believe sabotaz is thicker but I haven't used it. $6 a can.

mtn is gloss, so it takes longer to dry. mtn has a high pressure valve system, so less control. I think mtn covers better, however, I haven't used sabotaz. $4 a can if you know where to go, or a little more if you don't.

mtn also makes alien can that 250mL cans (versus the usual 400mL) and are matte and have a variable pressure system.

it's all preference, gloss drips a little more easily, but it pops, and catches the light more than matte.

I've had a couple of colors to test of the "New Color!" Krylon, today.

The colors were Totally Tangerine, Gumdrop, and Blue Ocean Breeze.

Gumdrop was fairly Thick, covered black well, and wasn't that shitty.

Blue Ocean Breeze was also not that shitty, had pretty good consistency/ pretty thick.

Totally Tangerine is pure SHIT. DONT BUY THIS COLOR. DONT EVEN RACK THIS COLOR.

@ fnt mtn Alien is NOT matte, that would make no sense. the whole premise for the alien line is that you can cut back and do details after you do your big fills with the hardcore. i've only actually used 3 or 4 cans of it, but i'm looking at a canvas with alien on it and it's gloss.

Sabotaz is what i like to consider a mix of MTN hardcore and montana gold (matte paint) because it has great coverage (like mtn) but great pressure and in matte (like montana gold). It also has solid pressure and it doesn't really take advantage of the pressure control valve the way montana gold does. It's pretty much one pressure line, with splatter if you try to let up. But still, for everything, it's my prime paint. It works for bombing and burners, the pressure is less than mtn but more solid than montana gold. Can't go wrong. HOWEVER, as i found out recenty. It-does-not-like-rusto. rusto EATS sabo, and when it dries, flakes off . i dont know why

If you don't live in Europe chances are you will "never" rack mtn paint German nor Spanish.

I've got a question right so In my area if I need to rack up I have to use the like 4 hardware stores in my area and Wal-Mart is a 15 min. drive which I'm not trying to make for 10 cans tops. dude, it's just latex acrylic, makes cool colors, but it's kinda worthless, can't make it stain and the only additive you can use is water, but you can make cool colors
