in my opinion a portfolio should contain 15-20 completed pieces
that you have created and finished within the last 2 years....ur most recent works
even though i make most my work off my head... i dont have a lot of still life..
but trust me it is essential to have atleast 3-5 in your portfolio....
even if your a ill graffiti artist... or abstract kind of artist...
jobs, schools will appreciate and like the fact that you try different things/ideas..
even using different mediums.
i was looking to get into joe kubert school in pa. sometime ago and they preffered
still life over my own type of character art and choice of work...
they told me it was because they want us to start from scratch and build using their methods and techniques... non the less...
having a sketch book seperate as ONE piece in your portfolio also helps 2...
it is a good idea to look professional even if your a sloppy pig...
showing your best work has to look fresh and clean....
throw all types of works...... sculptures CANVAS'S wood etchings, etc...
anything else anyone can throw in here to help others put together a better portfolio to pass jobs and school interviews without a doubt in their minds?
and oh yeah join the character battle below... lol
