i think chartpacks bleed a little more so i've been using prismas. i might rack some chartpacks if it's worthwhile. which do you prefer?
For really big fills I like Chartpacks. For everything else Prisma

i have never used chartpaks, just prismas and they work well

yeah, rma is right. its soo hard to do small little areas with chartpacks, but when you get used to the bleeding, the fills come out crazy. it looks like you used the little paint bucket on mspaint haha..
prismas also have the advantage of the 2 sides, but i never use the thin side anyway..

so you live in the us?.... if you do, most micheals make you buy prisma's at the counter.... i havnt seen or heard of chartpacks there, or anywhere, but you can still rack paint markers... permapiuqes, and decos/ paintys there... and the prisma pencils too.. (the seperate ones, the packs you all have to buy at the desk..)
hope this helps....
do they sell sekuras at micheals... or roberts.... never heard of em' got a pic?

Sakuras are permapaques. and i love em. Prismas arent dark enough for me or something, but the colors are nice.
Anything you'd want to steel at my michaels is all sitting neatly in the very back of the store where no one could see you unless they where in the same asile. It's a shame I don't rack.

hey man, i just got my prisma's a while back, they are pretty tight, they bleed like fucking mad though, and they like spread everywhere, once it makes contact it flows, kinda leaks.... and i thought they would be kinda like paint markers.... so you can overlap, but it pulls a cryola style, and just makes it darker when overlapped..... they are smooth, but hard to control..... and they fuckin bleed!!!..... they are kind of weird....

^^has that happened to anyone else... anybad experiences... i mean like i was droppin a paper bomb, and i filled it with blue, and i wanted to add some shinny things you know... so i got my creamy white prisma to go over the blue, wont even go over it... barely leaves a mark.... its like cryola shit... i mean whats really really good about prisma's? can someone tell me why i should keep buying more??....please fill me in

Yes,buy more prismas.Because they blend so perfectly,so you you really dont even have to know how to shade.just pick 3 or more shades of each color you are going to use and blend them from darkest to lightest.
As far as force fields, inlines and "shiny things" go dont look to prismas to do the job.For that kind of shit i use pentel milky gel rollers they work the best and also help to hide most of the bleeding

prismas all the way
prismas are good, very vibrant, but if you're having trouble with prisma's bleeding you're using the wrong type of paper. you'll want to use a thinker paper like bristol for primas to get the ultimate effect. i have not had a problem with them since i started using them on bristol paper, and other thicker paper.

i hav'nt even seen chartpaks, I just stick with prismas their well known and reliable. The only thing is they run out kind of quick, the ink quality is hell of good though.

heres a good tip...
alot of you kids use regular sketchbooks for your blackbooks, the contain thicker, coarser paper that absorbs alot of marker ink and makes you think the markers dead when its not. i reccomend using marker paper, you can get it in books at any art supply store, its thinner, smoother, shinier paper, that wont let any ink bleed through. i took a mp to it once to test it, it barely bleed through, with normal use it dosent bleed at all. it makes ur peices look shiner, and easier to blend colors, look into it. prismas are ment for marker paper. mine were all cliniccaly dead till i used them on marker paper.

Yeah man, they call the "marker paper" that he's talking about BRISTOL . If you look on the front of the sketch book it shoudl say bristol on it somewhere OR if the little icons on the sketchbook have a little marker icon, thats good too. But BRISTOL is the best.

anybody know about touchtwins?
i have a 12 pack of touch twins and i really like them a lot. they are a good price too, for their quality.
for prismas i haven't really tried them enough to have a solid opinion. chartpacks are good for big areas. and also i would have to agree with the earlier post about getting a markerpad. i have a bleedproof copic pad and it really makes the colors more vibrant and bright and solid.

what are ur opinions on prismas vs copics? ive never tried copics. . . . but ive heard theyre actually much better.
as for those bitching about ink bleeding to the next page. . . . use a blood page. thats not difficult.

Yeah, Ever since I started racking the 44 or 48 marker set, the box where the prisma's are usually at, they just say "display only". but you can still get the individual one's for like 5 bucks each... but buying them is just plain wrong cuz honstly, who is gonna pay 5 bucks for one?!?!!

i have a few prismas at the moment (12-13)...
i need to go rack a bigger bag for markers from WalMart, and then hit up Michael's next-door and load up on Prismas and some Elmer's Painters...
i think i may end up clearing out their entire stock of Prismas if i go with this one friend of mine this week. she is chill with racking stuff, but she has to pick up shit for her art teacher on Tuesday, so she volunteered to be my distraction so i can load up on markers and shit for making mops.
i vote Prismas for markers (their metallics suck balls though) and Elmers painters for paint pens. I would like to rack some nice sketch pads, but until it is cold enough to wear my old tripps or baggy ass pants, ill have to deal with my 4 for a buck composition books covered in USPS stickers.
