And to the other kid, yes it is a felony to get caught painting a freight if your 18 years of age or older. I got popped first offense and im looking at between 6 months and 2 years... But i found out after i got caught that CPRAIL, UP, and BNSF. Had all filed criminal complaints against my word and the crew im in in my city is considered a gang so im gettin it a lot harder than some might but its hard to say. Just try your damndest not to get caught because it really is a big deal to get popped for freight trains.

Chief, one of the crew memebers isnt able to write there name due to living in an area with no fr8s but we dont see why we shouldnt keep there name on there... another member was recently stabbed in his painting hand so he cant paint eighter so we feel its nessacary to flick those becase there was a single member on each one of the ladder posts that isnt able to get up right now physically so, we have to hold it down for them and show them that althought they might not beable to rock it... there names still being up'ed

as for the felony thing i was 19 when i was roped up for painting freights but i think im also in a diffrent country then you so that might explain why me and another creew member only got mis. class B's

On a serious note. Flicks of pieces that are cropped just look better period. Exception being full cars and e to e&#39;s but they STILL look better with all the scenery cropped out unles they are in some amazing location and it ads to the overall picture. Those of us who crop know just how much time it can take. I understand sometimes there are pieces that are impossible to flick, or flick well. My general rule of thumb is if I wouldnt print it off why bother flicking it. And in that case if you arent willing to print it for your collection why would you think people would want to see it ont he internet? Yes granted some of us post something shitty the odd time, and most of us started out posting low quality stuff, I did for sure&#33; Still do someties, but if you look at the stuff &#39;its me&#39; for example posts you should notice that he does a lot of screening and choosing what he decides to post. Just be happy that he is posting flicks from his personal collection. Think of how boring the thread is when the pictures are kept for ourselves.....result is lots of bickering and no flicks. You can learn a lot from paying attention to a few minor details, so stop getting all defensive and when someone giveees you some constructive criticism...TAKE IT

if you have a manual setting camera, you can step down the exposure to get rid of that birght white overexposure that you got in the left corner. It can be done by altering chutter speed, or aperature. Also in that instance the easiest way is if you are taking a pic of it, then try to only get the train car in the shot, eliminate the chunk of sky which serves no purpose in terms of the context of the photo, like its me said: always try to get the whole piece, there shoulnt be any excuse for a parked train, in a chill spot and getting a chopped off piece, with dead space to spare on one side. Even if shooting film, that just means you should take your time more. this got way to long , im going to bench.

and defect, obviously not arguing with you but just stating my opinion, i think it looks a lot more pleasing to the eye to include some of the scenery around the piece rather than just the piece. for example...

ok when your painting a layup, and cant run because of your foot being surgicaly reconstructed and your joint fused shut from an accident painting hevens a year or 2 back.... and a train rolls up to take the cars when you just finished outlining your first letter but refuse to let your shit go unfinished so you paint till the train is litterly on you and you been to jail for graffiti twice.... your gonna rush shit three charges isnt good, like fanny said his shit didnt even get to get finished, there was no hiding i was spoted but i wasnt about to attempt to run so i rushed it as fast as possible... i hate it but its up and the outline is over my head as u can tell from the blow out on the z that i had to jump to outline... so yea... it was eighter stay and finish and hope the conductor doesnt call the cpos and them get there before i get to the car (which is always the most dangerous walk) or leave my shit unfished for them to take... ive only left 2 peices unfished and that was awhile ago... im not about to start now

If you&#39;ve been in it for 2 years and have painted thousands of freights you&#39;d be getting respect on a website, not dissed and people would know who you are. I&#39;ve never heard of you and I bench on the daily. And when you have to claim that you&#39;ve painted a number of freights to back you up, that toys you out even if you did have those numbers. Let your shit speak for you if you have so many freights running the lines. This is not a dis, I&#39;m just letting you know. You don&#39;t need to get on a forum and boast about how many panels you&#39;ve got. If thats what you&#39;re in the freight game for, than stop.

i said this on 12oz... but.. has anyone noticed the large amount of reflectors bein put up all the fuckin time now..and there all like new ul see old freights rollin by.. and thet gotta new set of reflectors rite in the middle of a piece or somtin.. i did some tags a while bad and saw them bout a week later.. had reflectors rite over the tags..shyts gettin ridculous wit the reflector.. its like the cant stamp everything.. so there cappin them wit reflectors...anyone else notice this?

railworkers and the whole rail system NEED those numbers. they arent cool little logos for the fun of stenciling shit unto a train. they are tracking numbers to know what is in the fr8 and where it has to be unloaded etc. so when some idiot hides the numbers they have to reverse check to find out whats in that particular car, not fun.

trains are really for a more special crowd of writers, if you cant show the respect it takes then stay out of yards.

Going over the numbers is not a big deal, talk to any train worker (while you have no paint on you/arent painting or doing anything illegal) they will gladly tell you that they dont care. Notice how the very same numbers are stenciled on both trucks of the car, at the top corner of the coupler edge, and on the coupler itself) so its not any harder for them to get the numbers right there, not to mention if you know so much about trains and i am stupid you surely know what a manifest sheet is, it tells them exactly what cars they need and where they are stored so even if you stamped every number on a car including the ones on the undercarriage you can only see laying on the ground they could simply look at their sheet and see "okay BNSF 722455 is here and the next car is BNSF 793990, so this has to be CSXT 161192." As far as unloading goes, that is tracked by a small piece of metal or plastic fixed to a boxcar door or the bottom of a hopper gate (this is much worse to paint over than the numbers and lots of people do it, if this is painted over they know EXACTLY when it was painted) that has a serial number, and industry/ car owner name, this serial number is read by the people at the industry not to guarantee it is the right car but the right LOAD making it much more effective than road numbers. Road numbers are how they refer to cars on manifest sheets, not how they track shipments and they are not absolutly necessary to the railroad. For example a SIMPLOT insulated french fry car with ARYS and PIER pieces on it that you have seen in several magazines (over the numbers jrsx6138 i believe) has been riding for years and will never be stamped, if you ever hit a SIMPLOT and you dodge the numbers you are stupid because MR. J.R. SIMPLOT does not restamp his railfleet, different cars different story obviously but theres some cars that are in between because they have different owners/ leasers like RAILBOXES, kill the numbers on a RAILBOX it might get stamped tomorow it might take 3 years it might never happen. Car owners are the ones who decide whether or not they will put numbers back but there are several shortlines and leasers that do not re-stamp their cars because it simply is not necessary, unless the black box is gone, those will always be replaced.
Dont fucking tell me im not a "special crowd" of writer, i hop freights, paint freights, bench freights, and am a pretty big railfan. And as a matter of fact have met almost all of the workers at most of the yards i paint that your trying to tell me to "stay out of" How often do workers walk up on you painting and tell you to have a good night and walk away? freights and cleans are what im all about and yep i only dodge them numbers 85% of the time, go fucking cry about it. Dont talk to me like some fucking toy.

ya i was jus talkin to a homie bout it.. but still hasnt anyone noticed that when they put the reflectors up.. they will put them rite in the middle of the piece.. ive been seein alot of nice pieces wit a reflector smack dab in the middle of them...im started to think its best to paint the cars with them already on there.. cuz i doubt there going to put more since they already have some, and sometimes they dont even jus put a reflector.. the stamp it wit the color back. then place a reflector on it....but older cars that dont have them..if u paint one.. its only a matter of time now before they put as reflector over u...and.. all the shyt uv already done.. has proly already gotten a reflector placed over it..
they&#39;ve been putting reflectors on them because, like dr evil said, when some places don&#39;t have lights at where trains cross people sometimes don&#39;t see them in the dark, so they get the reflectors to sign off from the car lights...and they put them in the same places normally...one right in the middle them in the middle of each of those halfs.

i was juist walking home from the yeard and i was in the dark and a train was going by. and i missed the E cause my camera dosent have a super flash....very sad.

i was late to work today cause i had to wait for a freight to go by in front of my car.

it was an old Guilford Rail engine though, but it was nothing but gondolas and clean boxes. there was one real nice flat green box, i think it was a paper company.
