im new to bombing science and just started writing over the summer and i have been browsing around and havent seen a thread about the people you look up to in your city.

it doesnt matter what they do whether it be a piecer, a bomber with nice letters, or someone who just puts up their scribbles everywhere. give a reason of what it is that you like about their style or what they do catch your eye. p.s. someone you have no connections with.

Well I actually have some kind of local hero. But its more a legend haha.
The town where I live in is not really big. There was one night or one week a guy who wrote his tag &#39;ok&#39; everywhere. He didn&#39;t did 1 tag, but like 4 on every spot.
That was in 2000/2002 I think :P I was 10/12 and had much respect for Mr OK.
Theres only two tags left..

Graffiti isnt popular anymore in my town.. :( You only see marker tags

when i was first into graffiti, the entire leather jackets crew was like the shit to me, cause they were everywhere and shit, but now it seems like other crews smash alot harder, like TSR and FBS.

why are they my heroes...
they inspired me to paint
I use to go on the tracks and id see space and his pieces up on the trains
and I wanted people to think what i thought of him
K-mas was the biggest inspiration
I saw him painting my local bridge and went to say hi

he gave me my first graff book and my first sketch.

I think all those guys are in the same crew because everytime i See a "Silk" writen in Downtown MPLS, i always see a "River" or a "Mebs" written right by it.

I see this shit ALLLL over my city, and St.Paul too, i see those tags EVERYWHERE.

they inspired me big time, i think if it wasnt for them i wouldnt be taggin. ever.

I mean FST is tagged in North Side always, ill ride on high way 94, ill see "FST" written in letters that are 6 feet tall, looking cool as hell right under the bridges.

The dude tags my stop sign on my block, i see the same shit on the high way. ITs local here man, im talking about a block away you can see "Juice", go to the next city (St.Paul) you can see the same shit, written on factories, abandoned buildings.

Its tight man, we keep it local as hell here. Who ever dosent know Silk, Mebs, Mops, River, Shock, Juice, Clips, and FST and they are from Minneapolis, get the fuck out.

These guys are the guys that keep the Tag scene alive in minneapolis. Same with "CSE" crew, they keep it alive.

They&#39;ve dedicated themselves to the art most likely. and that&#39;s definatly respectable. But no one should IDOLIZE someone else because of that. If anything idolize yourself because you&#39;ve done something respectable. Don&#39;t act conscieded and pretend your better than everyone else. Just be honest and feel good that you acheived something...



The problem with the world is that everyone is wanting to be someone else. And this just creates a bunch of posers and wiggers or emo fucks.

If you truly wanted to be like the people you idolize, you think the down to earth ones idolize anyone? No. They just respect other people they looked up to as kids/growing up/influencial figures in whatever they aspire to be.

Once they become what they looked forward to becoming. They don&#39;t idolize, they respect.

So start early. Start respecting instead of idolizing.

Because in most cases. What you actually think something is. Is nothing what you expected once you get to that point.

Graff seems like this hype sicko art form that makes underground stars famous and gives them sick ass handstyles/characters/peices...

anyways, I can tell you right now. about %80 of the famous writers out there have regrets about even getting into graff in the first place.
In a contradictory way, they fucking hate graff with all their life. But they&#39;re so addicted they can&#39;t stop.


Anyways... Back to my point. You shouldn&#39;t idolize any graff writer, just respect that they put effort into it.
