Maybe you can drop it in paint thinner en wait a day then let it dry and prey for the best XD

Mix Rubbing alcohol with paint thinner... drop in there, when clean, squeeze and leave to dry...

Once that paint is in the nib it's near on impossible to get it to work again. I've tried a load of different solvents, nothing works.

^ Yeah. Just but a replacement nib if you can, or unscrew the marker and pop that paint into a seperate empty marker.

haha i hear ya...i was making a reference to how one washes their hair. but the answer, well the answer i quite often use is, any sort of solvent...paint thinner, peroxide works, but not well... you get the picture.

Maybe fill the marker with the solvent solution, then just hit up peices of cardboard until its clean? Do the same with water after to rinse it out and let it dry?

I just got my OTR Flowpen in the mail and I'm gonna try and make it a point to keep fresh nibs on hand at all times.... *shrug* They aren't expensive and it beats dicking around with solvent.

I have actually been able to clean OTR and Montana NIBS. I usually remove the nib and allow it to sit in paint thinner, mineral spirits, or xylene. After it sits for an hour or so i take it out of the solvent and squeeze it with a pair of pliers to loosen up the paint(ink) that has dried. I repeat the process several times over a day or so. very few paint or ink will be loosened by the paint thinner but once i put it on the marker its back to good. but this will only work once or twice with the same nib just try and keep the nib juicy.

you can try taking a chalkboard eraser and cutting part of it out and jamming it in there..... it works for making mops, so you should be able to do the same with a regular marker.

just remember not to buy the same marker again if you have problems with it.
there are good ones, there are bad ones.

since you are the kind of guy who ''plans'' to hit a ''spot'' with a water based paint marker i guess your not the kind of guy who figure out by himself that water based paint is dissolved by water so...

i'll let you figure it out

If you put a nib in paint thinner the nib disinigrates or at least it does with krylon painties

harry

soak it in baking soda/water mixture for about 3 hours, than drink the mixture and spit it out back onto the nib, microwave it for about 5 minutes on medium power, un plug your microwave and put the nib in the freezer. when you take it out just carve off the outer layer, this is built up pigment residue from your ink, depending on what you use. soak the nib in crazy glue, than let it harden and carve off the outer layer once again, than you'll have a nice fat cap, about the diameter of your fist only works with rusto

Hey is it good to use your marker as much as you can so it doesn't dry out? Mine seems fine but I don't want anything bad to happen.
