Are You An Up-yourself Writter?

whats going on peeps. i was just wondering if anyone here has got to the point where graff is such a huge and important part of thir lives, that its gotten in the way of relationships, with friends and even bitches. i know of an instance where a writter, admittedly well known, got so full of himself for being up he's gotten to the point where he'd even say shit like "well who the fuck are you to say that? Im fucken (*enter tag name*) man"!!, or something along those lines to even his best mates. mates who, because of an attitude like that left him. not t mention his fucked up love life, due to him talking about nothing but what piece he did, what spot he hit, shit like this. cmon, i know some girls are into it, but the majority will be thinkin "so fucken what".
anyway, to sum up, i was just interested in knowing if any of you guys have let graff be such a huge part of ur lives, to the extent that ur loosing friends n lovers over it. (and provide an example too)

Graffiti is a part of me...it shows up in every aspect of my life. But that's not to say that I think I'm the shit 'cause I'm a writer. My graff career is modest, to say the least. I'll never be a king...I'll never be an all-country writer...but that's not why I write. Problem with so many heads these days is that they only write for fame. They wanna be up. Sure, I'm not up nearly as much as other guys (and girls) in my city, but what I have is meaningful expression to me. I write for myself, and if someone else says I suck...they're entitled to their own opinion. That's why it's stupid to go around bragging that you're (*enter tag name*). If you just write to show off and look good, you're the worst kind of toy around.

for real, fucking graffiti is a form of expression, not a role in a movie. i hate it when we got these toy ass kids in our city fucking bombing over our shit in sharpie and theyll write dumb shit like cows and clowns and shit, and then when i ask em why there like " we like the rush" when they fucking bomb with a sharpie(wich is boring) and they bomb in alleyways, wich is gay . they dont have a fuckin right to do that shit, but yeah, like, im not so self absorbed or anything, im not the best, far from it, but i do take graff pretty seriuosly. my band doesnt like it cause they think ill spend a life sentence in jail if i get cought, all my freinds think its stupid and yeah, so i just told everyone i quite, when really ive gotten more into then ever, but i make shure it doesnt fuck up my social life :)

I do my graff for me. in the beginning I was only getting at it cause I thought it was cool and wanted to make sick drawings as a hobby. now? it's more of a personal thing, I tend to keep my sketchbook to myself and it's a real relief to do a piece or just work on a handie or a piece when I'm down or stressed. and of course, I work at it cause it's fun :)

alleyways are the epicenter of graffiti. im not saying that doing shit out in the open is stupid but it usually doesnt get anything but negative attention because normal people generally dont give two shits about it and dont even give it a second glance unless its an enormous tag that you can see from five blocks down. in which case normal people would only get pissed off and annoyed.

when you bomb in alleyways other writers see your shit and they actually notice it and analyze it because they have the mindset of a graffiti writer just like you. when you bomb you bomb for you and for other writers. no one else gives a shit.

so feel free to bomb out in the open if you want that kind of attention. but dont say that bombing in alleys is stupid. cuz its not.

ive never lost any friends or girlfriends over graff. everyone i know thinks its cool. and they didnt get pissed at me when i got caught. they just felt sorry for me. lol.

i'm more of a victim of an up-yourself writer. My friend does all these artworks his proud of(example below). He keeps showing me his work and asking for my opinion on it, i don't want his feelings hurt so i either ignore him or say its alright.. but recently he went so up-himself he said; his the best writer out of our group(He even said i was jealous of his work).
