What do you guys use for white highlights.

I've been doing a lot of marker stuff in my blackbook, but white colored pencils don't cut it for the highlights.

What do you use?

Haha, I've used those. Fucked up the whole thing.
But the paint they use is about the best I've seen.
Goes over almost anything. It's the steez.
Someone needs to make a whiteout in a marker
format, seriously.

i like using china markers for highlights
you can even erase them
and they go over top of anything
though kinda more like a blender white then a strong white

These are what I use. Extra fine like Hepos said. It's about as thin as a ball point pen.

Theres also another one I used once, I forgot the name but they were made by Sakura. I only got a few usages out of the pen before my dog chewed the shit out of it, but it worked pretty well. It was a extra fine felt tip, so you didn't have to worry about the flow or it blobbing up on you.

The problem is, im waaaaay toy.

And every time i try to draw my highlights BEFORE my fill, it ends up looking shitty.

Ill probably end up using like, whiteout. lol.

go onto Markal.com...ask for a free sample of their ultra-fine tip white paint pen...Delivered to your door for FREE...and they work pretty nice. Usually takes two layers to properly cover everything, but the outcome is worth it.

I have one of those, you can barely see the line it makes, and you gotta go over it 15 times to make it noticeable, and after all that the line is messy.

sharpie has two kinds of markers.. oil based and water based...
use the water based one.. shake it good then try it..

Ever notice when you use a fine tiped deco the color kind of soaks in to the paper?
and when you use a water based painters paint pen it dont?

white out pens are not that bad, the only thing with it is that you have to keep the tip clean from any dryed paint residue and you're good to go

my favorites right now are oil paint sharpies and the posca are not bad

I totaly dont agree with you.. Alot of white paint markers will not look pure white on the page.. the other colors will just fade into it.

hell yea, you have to prime and use it on scrap paper a bunch every time you use a fine white deco, and even then you have to go over your lines like twice and it makes your piece look old and faded.

i use a painters calligraphy tip cause you can get lots of effects and line widths, and it covers like flat white krylon, nearly opaque but it lets a little color show through which at times can be good.
