That's because silver is the more dominant color!! duhhh... and maybe because the otr has something that won't mix with the silver.. kinda like a oil in water effect.

Metalic is a bitch to go over. Montana makes that Nitro tar paint shit, and that covers it right up. Primer sometimes works too.

As for markers.. couldn't help you.

Somebody should make sure that like for the first couple of like month of a new membership, you cant post topics.

That and insert a big rule somewhere, if you have a question, go to Tools And Tips thread.

I think he ment like in the ink thread but shouldnt this get closed?

Msfyt
04-27-2007, 04:57 PM
why?
not everyone knows about silver paint and its hard to cover qualities

MooMooTheMoose

Yeah I don't see why this should be closed.
New people generally wouldn't know exactly where to look, and the search would shove them to every mention of silver paint.

But I don't know the chemistries or why this happens haha, I just know a few things to get around it. I hardly EVER use metallics. I've probably used one can in my life.

My guess is just like what Fluffy said. Oil and water shit.

Tar paint is the deal to cover silver. German Montana is the best (in my opinion), Spanish Montana is good too it's called Nitro 2G. You can also get other brands of tar paint, like bar-b-q paint, etc. You can also let the paint dry, fill in like 3 or 4 throw ups then go back and do the outlines, sometimes this will work (sometimes not!).
peace.

It's easy to go over once it's dry... It's just a bitch when it's wet. It like eats the paint.

The REAL deal, the MONTANA paint is the one made by moockie and Kapi... (barcelone)

once they got bigger they got a company to produce the ''body'' (motip dupli wich is based in germany) of the bombs

after a while the company producing the ''body'' offered the guys to buy the company, they declined the offer...

Few time later some montana hardcore packaged paint came out on the market but the paint inside is not the same (german montana)

In 2001 Motip dupli did a search on the name ''Montana'' and found a compani in farbo SA, in switzerland wich owns the right for the europe.

They suggest them to pay royalties to use the brand name montana in europe, the company accept so now motip dupli (the german montana guys) have the tools to intend legal actions against montana spain.

So basically, the original montana is produced in barcelone
(the one made by writers for writers)

The one produced in germany (motip dupli)
is the one produced by guys in buisness suits making money on a culture

so whatever your link leads to (im guessing its not even the official websit just a distributor) i dont give a fuck, posts some facts instead of pretending to know shit by posting a hotlink...

i got infos that can be checked back.. you got a hotlink

Hay guise, let's freak out about what types of paint exist and don't exist.

Yeah, but any color bleeds if you do two wet colors.

and to get back on topic

flat black seems to cover it better

if you cant find some fancy montana tar paint, just get yourself some black gravel guard at an autopart store... ist tar-based and comes with a fatcap.. i swear to god if you use it just one youll just cant stop using it that shit is crazy!

so enjoy it

chromes will always absorb colours due to the chemicals to make it chrome. for sketchs use paint pens but ull need layers, and for covering chrome paint the best deal is montana nitro 2g orrrr coversall. any tar paint works tho because the tar stops it being soaked up.

Metallic colors are much more complex than your simple colors that are on the color wheel...They reflect diffrently and consist of diffrent materials...Its possible that these materials do not cope easily with you simple colors....

I just use the wal mart dollar can silvers instead of Rusto. It might not be as fade proof, but whatever. You can cover it with pretty much any color as soon as youve sprayed.
