for me cali is where its at..LA is probably technically more advanced, with more established writers pushing crazier shit, but the bay is much faster which means a bigger range of styles. plus the whole hispanic impact which is huge on the west coast and down south.

i respect it, but personally i hate euro styles. i cant stand that stuff, the letters and colors always look goofy with no flow. the stuff from scandinavia is more of a new york type deal but the spanish, german, etc doesnt do it for me.

euro shit is okay. The color schemes they do keep it interesting. the letter scuk though

as for east coast/new york. The hands are dope and so is the bombing. The peices dont really do it for me cuz it all looks the same after a while.

freight type style, like KING 157 or DIET. I relly dig that, but only on frieghts, and I dont bench so whatever.

Im from cali, east bay. so thats the type of stuff Im feeling. The the funky type letters and sharp flowy hand syles is it for me. And some of the bombing stuff to, like TWIST throwies/straight letters. and the old school SF style addind crazy ass characs and shit.

and down in LA. I resepct alot of the shit they do, they are the ones really pushing the limits of graff right now Im my opinion. I dont really feel the jagged styles AWR/MSK might rock though. I like the jagged gothicy hands however. But I hella respect the whole scene. And like CBS for doing some ill shit like the DOOM into AUGS billboard. and the crazy flaired tags that take hella long to do even though they dont flow.

There is this simplistic style going on in Paris, simple hands, and technical, comic like throwies.

I've met a few of them myself and tweeking hipsters or not more than a few of them have style. I remember looking up to particular writers when I was new to graffiti, and being seriously on their jock. When I finally met some of them it was a huge let down to find out they were complete degenerates more interested in getting high or boosting than actually painting. I'm not talking about anyone in particular.

Anyways, I think that judging someones artwork while consciously applying their lifestyle choices to your critique is unfair to the artist and his or her art.
