The cops have more important shit to do than launch a full blown investigation with an "undercover" website open to the public just to catch little upper class punks like you stupid kids.. I've been around pretty much since the beginning of graff in this city and can assure you they aren't doing any funny shit like that.. if you get caught red handed your looking at some probation, if you don't get caught redhanded they never heard of you...
The TTC is the only ones who may keep tabs on what you do..
If i was a cop I'd love to bust all these little Toronto toys cuz they suck at graffiti that's for sure..

guess who are u joking me... cops have better things 2 worry about ya, but do they?? no not realy they spend theyre time busting peoples balls for stupid shit like graffiti and not stoping at stop signs. why wouldnt they make a site?? its an easy smart thing 2 do... they probably want 2 make some big busts and spread it over the news and make it seem like theyre doing somthing good... times are changing guess who.

in-depth investigations are done for guns, drugs, fraud, prostitution, etc. graffiti ranks very low on that list. there are SOME cops i.e. the defacto vandal squad, that care a lot and MIGHT try something like that but even then i bet they lack the resources. unless you're up REALLY hard they aren't going to be investigating you too much. that's a lot of man-hours and when you get paid as much as cops do that shit adds up real fast.

Someone I know was busted and the cop took a picture of the wall and now picture is on intergraff, but the name is spelled wrong. As far as I know no one else took that picture. Makes total sense to me, times ARE Changing, people know that graff is a BS charge the cops are trynna make shit stick by linking more then one count to a name and having proof to back it andshit. FUcking sucks! I like to believe the cops wouldn't want vandals in their already overcrowded justice system clogging up progress but Its getting harder to believe. Also, there's nothing glamerous about it, they aren't targeting you in specific, just anyone who's dumb enough to grab a can of paint and try n use it. Look at some of those pics, absoloute garbage most of them. one time writers and suburb kids, everything mislabelled. ONe thing is pretty clear to me, no one made this site to help or nourish graff. NO one who loves graff could have made this site.Shit, that's what I belive, but I dont write anyways cuz I'm paranoid so take it for what it is. peace.

that site looks decent which means it took some time and effort to make which means the cops would have to hire someone to do it which means they are spending money (webdesign can cost $30 an hour easily) to create a site in hopes of building cases against people of no importance or who they may never catch. they have more important things to spend their money on. it all comes down to money boys, why do you think graffiti is illegal in the first place? 'cause it costs money to clean up! i can guarantee the cops would rather spend that money on high-profile investigations such as drug and gun busts. that shit makes the news big time and people then think they're doing something about violent crime. the general public is then happy with how the police are doing their jobs. busting a few POSSIBLY big time graffiti writers ranks very low on their list of "public pleasing stories". people just don't care enough about graffiti to justify that.

if you disagree you're retarded and take yourself and your graffiti too seriously. quit smoking so much weed and maybe you'll be less paranoid and have more fun with it! haha

There's only a few suspicious things about that site. The "Top 20 List" , the fact there only asking for pictures of Illegal graffiti and that they have a file for Unknown writers there asking you to Identify for them. There are cops that are assigned to catch keep tabs on certain people there's no doubt , not saying that it's a cop site but you never know , could be some lazy pig getting people to do his job for him. As i said before you never know what those pieces of shit are up to.

most true. they throw so many names at you. "do you know this guy?" "do you know who did these?" I remember them showing me pics and in my head i'm like haha i know them but tell them i have no idea. They do flick everything. i understand the paranoia, but cops are desperate for info so they pretty much show all their cards. maybe its different in canada. i dont know.

^^Exactly. TTC and GO Transit both have folders and folders full of photos.
GO Transit enforcement even flicks all the walls along all the train lines.
When i saw the folders they had flicks of walls from 95 or 96. Looking through that shit is way better then these forums when it comes to flicks hahaha.

Dude I hear you there are allot of bullshit murals done by the city, but some of those murals are produced by young bucks man who live in projects and so on.
I agree HIRE more graff heads to produce more contemporary productions man, or paid them to help out with small urban projects in the areas that needs it.

anyone that doesnt wanna understand the reality of graffiti in Toronto is just a plain idiot...

as it is, the city bylaw officers go around the city and enforce random buildings that have tags and throwies to go and clean it up or the city will do it themselves
and in this case they use cheap grey or a red brick-like colour to buff the bulding that doesnt comply with their orders.

I would rather see wals get turned into dope piecing productions rather than become regular buff spots-cause the truth is that once they buff a building for the first
time the owners get into the habit of constantly buffing.

i'm not going to pass up the opportunity to do a legal someone has asked me to do and might even pay for just because it's a "prime bombing spot". that said i don't really hunt for legals but if the owner wants the shit gone it's going to get gone one way or another, it's just the way things go. posting on bombingscience isn't going to change that.

you kids need to realize that no one in the city gives a shit about you wanting to bomb this wall or that. if the city comes to their door and tells them to do something about it they're going to, whether that means buffing it or getting a mural done. art fag murals are wack but if writers get the wall at least graff gets to stay on it in one way or another. better than it getting buffed every time someone does a hollow.

Kids will paint wherever they want to paint, whether its under a bridge going over some old school 90's shit that they don't know about, or going over a street level spot with their shitty pieces.

they've installed all new bay doors, are refurbishing the docks,they have installed all new windows except for 2, which are newly framed and easily accessible. they have scaffolding set up on the other side of the empty window, crawl through, climb down and you're in. looks like they'll be installing the remaining windows by the end of the week so get on it.

Maybe no one should feel entitled but people shouldn't be going over other people's work unless they know they can burn it... also kids shouldn't be putting their stuff up on a wall unless they can add to the wall in someway... if they are taking away from an amazing piece because of their wack shit... they shouldn't of gone close to the wall in the first place... so if a bridge or a wall has several amazing pieces on it by people who have paid their dues and have made history then toys shouldn't be going anywhere near it unless to drool or take pictures... but i guess that's just my opinion

I was really tryin to stay out of this bickering but seems like most of ya'll don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
Because this is graffiti yeah people are right to a certain extent, but there are rules. Unwritten yes, but there are rules. If you're runnin around whining about how there's no rules because this is graffiti, you're a toy who hasn't been properly schooled.

When I was coming up there were very hard spoken rules that if you didn't follow had consequences.
The shit that sparked this conversation, clipping Sight's background -- is Wrong.
1. You don't sidebust G's like that and 2. You definitely don't clip their shit, even if it's just the background. That's grounds for getting gone over or worse, it's a respect thing. Even if it's a tag ---- Don't clip people's shit.

Some other things i've noticed around town that would have gotten people talking, beaten up, crossed out back in the day...

- Don't front like you rocked with somebody by squeezing in between them or beside them. That's sidebusting, you're a Toy.

- If you're going to do a fill in or a hit, FILL THE FUCKIN THING IN. I see too many toy fill ins that are just scratch filled which are showing tags and garbage through them. Respect the people you're going over and cover it - 100%. Toy.

- Tags above, beside and in peoples backgrounds. People think this is cool nowadays or something but it's not. Don't hit up tags above peoples pieces even if you go above their background. Makes you look like a bitch trying to get into other peoples photos.

- People bitching about how their wack throw or tags got gone over, or people dissing for having their wack shit get gone over. Get over it. A fill in goes over a tag (only if it's FILLED IN). Respect the hierarchy of tags, fills, hits, pieces, burners.

- Not calling people out for biting, or thinking biting is ok. It's not ok, it's toy shit. Twist that shit just a little bit at the very least to make it you're own. It doesn't matter if "everyone and their grandma" is doing those arrows now, because that just makes you a lazy biter toy. If you don't know the person(s) personally you're biting from - as in you have sat down with them for a beer, know them by birth name, or been to their house for a BBQ --- don't do it.
And how the fuck is biting ok? Somebody has got to explain this one to me.

Maybe i'll bring up more later.

No it wouldn't be biting my "style". These are things that have been passed down from generation to generation from the days of the subways in 70's.
Seems as though there's a huge disconnect from the generation I helped teach and the writers out now. Somewhere along the line, one generation just stopped the teachings and here we stand.

There is now more than one issue with the arrows -- you actually knowing where the arrows came from. They didn't come from Mozy because he bit them too. and so did motel at one point. Seems more like "everyone and their grandma", just in Toronto, are biting them arrows because i haven't seen many bite them outside of this city. Do your research before sticking up for somebody.

As for the fill ins... it's a matter of opinion on what they look like scratch filled or solid. From a respect point of view though if you scratch filled over one of my tags and i could see it clear through your fill, i'd take that "little bit of pizazz" as a sign of disrespect. Scratch fills should be reserved for blank walls.

And as far as lol "going to jail"... obviously nobody has taught you how to do fill ins properly. If it's getting hot, you know you have the option of stopping - walking around the block - and finishing it on the second pass right? Or stopping - walking across the street - and finishing when it dies down?
You don't lose any cred if it takes you 15 minutes to do a properly filled in throw, with 3 minutes of actual painting.

people in this city don't want to accept the fact that they suck and don't know shit when they start "being a writer". Maybe it's because this is the generation that grew up with Tony Hawks Pro Skater and the world they enjoy isn't steeped into reality like the older heads. It's taken in chunks of what's most enjoyable and accessible. I would have absolutely loved to have been given outlines to work with (still would) or been educated on the history of the city, but hey all I had was the internet and an honest interest in the craft. I love hearing about how the way things were and trying to uphold them, too many kids just want shit their way these days. Not sure what point I'm trying to make but if an older person is ACTUALLY taking the time to tell you something....listen. And if they say you suck, you probably do. But don't take it the wrong way, everybody needs to work at the craft, you don't get good at this shit overnight. This city has always been about style to me, quick fills are soft.

95% older cats would rather avoid any conflict with toys than actually school them properly. You won't get beat up for doing stuff wrong in toronto these days. Maybe they'll cross you and then when you see them they'll tell you what you did wrong and befriend you but that's about it. Some new cats will fight and maybe older cats will be tough if they're rolling in a big pack. Writers aren't dangerous, more likely to get beat up by the thugs or heroes or the police.

Sorry if I don't worship everything a writer does, just because of who he is. Yes, I have met heads and talked with them, and I don't suck up like most people would to try to befriend them. I ask them what was up with a certain recent piece, and they themselves know it was wack, that they were trying some shit that didn't work out. Sorry for not being another worshipping sheep.
