that stone stuffs scary,,
the big pile of stones was a small pit, possiably for fires. you can se knotches cut in the tree for candles, and the top of it is all flat, i assume someone would stand up there. cuz there are stairs cut going to the top of the tree too. and the flat part on the one tree for a book or some shit... this is an old cult site apparently.

honestly the one with the jesus statue might be my favorite photograph of all the ones i've taken...i think the angle i got on the statue works real well, same with the contrast between the statue and the trees in the background, and especially the sun creepin through the trees. the sunbeams look phat, too. not edited besides me resizing it in photoshop, and a little bit of contrast adjustment.

ok now i got a cam question...
i got a sony cybershot 4.1 megapixel digi cam...
it takes good pics but my problem is when i get really close to something it gets really blurry and grainy.
Say i wanna take some macro shots of some weed or like something up really close and see it in great detail.
It'll come out as a pure blur.
Its on the FINE setting for picture quality (fine/standard) and i dunno.
I've tried alot of shit but i can't seem to get the detail...any help would be appreciated

Your best bet is to check the manual if you have it. If not, I'm sure if you looked on the sony site, you would find a version of the manual for your camera online. And usually the macro setting has a small icon of a flower.

anyway i had some nice skating flics on my cam. Went to get them developed today. I was reali looking forward to seeing the outcome. Guess what the cunts ruined the film while turning it into negatives. I was so pissed but the thing is wen you accept to get them done you go into their contract where you cant do anything if they get ruined. I was so pissed. But then i found a shop sellin kodak iso 200 for 50p a film roll instead of like 4 quid so i bought about 10 rolls. They thought it was out of date but its still for a year left.

ah this thread needed to be bumped lol was like 7 pages back. Anyway if any1 has a digital slr im wondering if they have the same delay from u pressing the shutter release and actual taking the picture.
you can either set the shutter speed yourself, or use the camera on automatic.

yeah i like that too , it came out nice and clean
MoNkEy
08-31-2005, 07:26 PM
but does it have a delay like most digital cameras, like with a 35mm slr it takes the pic as soon as the shutter release is pressed is it the same with a digital one or does it have the delay like a normal digital cam. LIke where u press the shutter release and like half a second later it actual takes the picture. Also can u use old lenses on them, but you just dont have the auto focus feature? Im reali thinkin of investing in one.

Well I wasn't sure if you were calling me out or what...
You sounded a little condescending towards average photographers attaining the capabilities to experiment in the artform. I was wondering if you're a film purist or if you're only into the more expensive digital stuff. That's a simple question which you ducked pretty hard on the first time. Next time, let's try a response with the answer.
Photography began because there were people who wanted to express themselves and create art, but didn't have the skill to paint masterpieces. It was a cheap and easy way to create artwork. Why would you "long for the old days when it cost you money to experiment," so others couldn't try new things, when in reality you should just be constantly challenging youself to create images beyond the current capabiities.
If it sounds like I'm coming off as a jerk, it's because you struck a nerve. And I'm tired.

Im not sure what that is in the first one, but I'm guessing it was a plane. The photo took a 16 second exposure, and in 16 seconds I'd assume a shooting star would have moved alot faster but your guess is as good as mine. Hopefully this week Ill be able to get a couple more shots of the toronto skyline at night like that, so I'll post up if I do.

We have one at school, stick to digital. Manual priting is costly and tedious. Chemicals, paper, enlarger, equipment (developer canisters, spools etc) are exspensive. Black and white is all that's really possible as colour is technical. Stick to digital, it's much more versatile.

a shadow cast by some trees on a sidewalk. I flipped the paper around and printed over it, then dripped then developer on it in a tray...

this is just a photo of some road, the negative wasn't really centered in the holder. I put some water on the photo paper and printed through it thats where the spots come from.

Try buying a decent film camera body and lens, its not like their that much cheaper. A good camera will cost you, but if your serious enough about it you would consider it an investment.

I took all my photos with a Zenit 122K with a Helios 44M lens. Cost me about $90, I left it out there though. I've never used a 'nice' digital camera, but I think I'd prefer real film any day. I'm told since everyone is into digital stuff now alot of the older stuff is getting cheaper. I've been considering getting a Pentax K1000, any feedback on that would be greatly appreciated...

K1000's are nice, I wish I still had one. I was checking ebay a couple weeks ago and their going for cheap. Some nice shots posted.

I read somewhere about scanning negatives, so I thought I'd try it out. Maybe my scanner just sucks, or the software I'm using to scan (it's just the stuff that came with this HP scanner)... they end up being pretty grainy, if anyone has any experience scanning negatives let me know if you have any tips...
EDIT: I've found that this program VueScan makes for much higher quality scans than the bullshit software that comes with the scanner, unfortunately you have to pay for it to get rid of these $'s it puts over your image...

those are cool, I like watching kids skate even though I don't do it myself... old folks always trying to call the cops... they have some city ordinance here against skateboarding, the cops seem to be snatching kids boards on a regular basis, like they like it or don't have anything better to do...
