and second of all, from the way you stated that post, it seems that you dont have a camera right now and you just want to fool around and whatever,

Well I say there&#39;s no harm in dropping a couple hundred bucks into a camera - nobody in my family had any interest in photography before we got our camera. It was actually a birthday present for my dad from my mom but I borrow it most of the time and look where it&#39;s gotten me? I have no idea if I have some natural talent for photography or not, but just messing around with the camera came out with some nice shots. I take photography alot more seriously now that I&#39;m more interested in it, but if you have the money for an SLR then by all means I&#39;d say go and get it...why not? It&#39;s entirely up to you, but I think a normal digital cam works perfectly. I use a Kodak LS753.

But u know the delay u get on a digi cam where u press the shutter release and the pic is taken like half a sec later, with a normal slr it takes the pic straight away basically im wondering on a digital slr if it has the same delay

All in that last post were film, they were shot on a 1970 Konika SLR. The other stuff I have posted are digital and those are taken with my Panasonic DMC FZ5.

geez man i want to go there, that looks like suuucchh a nice place.

but defect, my reason for not liking dslr&#39;s is because whwnever i used to use digital when i printed them out, no matter what kind of printer i had acess to you can kind of always see some color error if you payed close enough attention. i feel like using film is much more &#39;realistic&#39; looking, like, the colors just look so much more natural. i mean, the stuff peolpe have been posting on here with dslr&#39;s look great but i dont know, sometimes digital just looks too perfect. its all opinion though&#33;&#33;

and my biggest reason i guess, is that i&#39;m in school right now taking photo classes, so i have access to darkroom equipment. if you have film developing/printing things in your reach, i think you might as well use it.

That makes sense, I personaly like both a lot. Film is great to shoot but given the money factor of it, I prefer digital at this time. They both have merrits the one problem now adays though is that for any sort of job in the photography business you must have a very goo indepth knowledge of digital media. There is a certain feeling about film htat digital cant quite capture, especially in night shots.

yeah, i totally agree. i feel like to do any type of advertising or graphic design for a company, you would have to scan your photos into the computer to work on them anyway, so i guess in cases like that digital is much more convenient.
but yeah, theres just that specific feeling that you can find in film prints that just is hard to get in digital.

Id like to eventually get the D200 or whatever is compareable to that by the time i can drop 2grand on another camera.

That nikon is about 8 months old on the market, no more. Basically for those that don&#39;t know its a d70 for the most part, tiny bit smaller minus a few features but the imaging sensor etc. are the same in both. Thats good to see since that is the one I am planning on picking up in the near future with an 18-55 and 55-200.

haha, yeah i actually got it for free at a thirft store. a friend actually started doing it in like old novels and stuff, so i found some old text books and whatever and started. in my opinion its a much cooler presentation than a regular &#39;blackbook&#39; type sketchbook.

i just made my digital camera shoot slower shutter speed by covering the lense when it read the light. then i took the picture with the flash. everything got captured and i moved the camera really fast and it caught the tv screen like that.
