eh everyone...i was just wondering how many caps there are exaclty,cuz i look around...different sites..but everyone has different names for them and everything, and if its not to0 much to ask please list them

are fat caps the samething as ny fats...??

I wouldn't use either of those on a canvas unless you plan on using a stencil. They are too fat for such a small area, you won't get the sufficient amount of detail. Grey dots are nice. They get pretty skinny, but take a little getting used to. I've heard the blue dots are skinny, but I haven't ever tried those.

look at the stem on a ny fat, and a rusto fat, you will see the differance.


rusto fat, ny thin, german outline = old valve system
ny fat & most other caps = new valve system

ok... back on topic... a great new tecnuiqe i learned from a great writers is to... go into a huge store such as (home depot super center, lowes super center, or sum other huge fuckin place tha sells ur paint) go in grab a cart with a bottom to it put a box under there go to ur isle, fill the cart along the bottom just enough to not be able to see whats under, then fill ur bonx with AS MANY cans as possible (the bigger the box the better) go up to the counter the person will just ask for one can (get the same type of paint so that she can just count them up and ring them in with one can) when shes done u walk out with a 3 for 1 disscount (this helps if u go in as a construction werker or sumthin (orange vest and hard hat)

if you change caps really quick just give it a few quick sprays off the wall to clear it out

I just made a list of what caps fit what on this site:
German Outlines fit Krylon, Montana, and Color Vision cans
German Outlines 2 fit True Colors, Belton, and Walmart brand cans
Gold Dots fit Krylon, Montana and Color Vision cans
Pink Dots fit Krylon, Montana and Color Vision cans
NY Thins fit Krylon, Montana and Walmart brand cans
Rusto Fats fit any kind of can I think except Krylon or Montana or the other way a round I don't know
NY Fats fit Krylon, Montana and Walmart brand
German Fats fit Krylon, Montana and Color Vision cans.

There are a ton more caps than that, those are just the combinations I know that fit off the top of my head.

You could. Bombing science really doesn't have much selection tho. They have the most standard of standard caps. I suppose if your just starting out, its good to have that knowledge of the ones on BS. *********.org has a good selection. ************.com and ******** also check out.

I didnt want to start a new thread so i replied on this one, but i just got g-outlines 1&2 and the Ny Thins, and for some reason they arent working with my krylon, i thought they were supposed to. Like when i spray it, it comes out in big cirlces and they arent thin at all.

im pretty sure pink dots are the fattest, the pink dots i have make the fattest line ive seen so far, but i use rustoleum cans so the wideness of the line might depend on the brand of paint. Rustoleum cans have high ass pressure, i had a pink dot on there and the shit overflowed from under the cap so id watch out for that

what i died with my universal skinnies was i took a razor and took the black dot out carefully and put them both in bottle of thinner, dont try with ny fats <waste of time....i dono about grey dots of super fat caps u can try let us know

how about...when ur done using the cap u turn the can upside down and spray until only the air comes out so it pushes all the paint out so the next time u use that cap it works just as good at the 1st timeu used it...chyea

those cans are shit anyways unless yur doing block letters.. it gives you a square spray and you can adjust it to spray at different angles but it doesnt change it.. you always get the same line just in different spots. :)

Buddy those blue caps wit the metal pins in um are fan tips. They generally come on the shittiest of paint and are useless. the cans they usually are on makes colorplace seem thick. better to get a calig off a 3M 77 and use it with decent paint.

Calligraphy caps give a cool effect but theirs no real use in them unless your doing a complicated peice or very small details.

cool for tagging, but they are very dusty, so no clean lines. and make sure you have covered your hands because you are gonna get all these little dots on you hands.
