Someone pull the internet dork alarm- someone made a spelling mistake! <SFX = SIRENS, KEYBOARDS>

And the flowpen is a nice drippy marker... very fun to write with... I've never tried a pilot though. So I can't compare the two. OTR is a good investment, though, if you're watching your cash.

pilots are classic but i have to go with flow pens if u dont make everything drip on them they last while the hard to buff and a few other have the same pump system and i NEVER leave anywhere with out a hard to buff

pilots fucking burn. if you want clean lines and no drips, pilots. if you want drips, flowpen. overall i would rather rock a pilot over a flowpen. once your pilot is empty, if you would like you can pull the cotton out from inside, pull out the nib, top a sock/eraser nib on it, fill with ink, bamooo, you have a nice drippy mop.

Ravek
09-05-2004, 11:23 AM
pilot is better purchase and is cheaper and the ink doesn't fade, it has a really tuff nib but the ink lacks in color basic black is best.... the flowpen is just a fancy marker with fading ink, and it can be buffed with rubbing alcohol and its like 10 dollars the nib is good size but i guess u have to make ur own ink or modify the stock ink to make it better. the colors are nice tho. If u want a black marker get a pilot, if u want color get a flowpen

flowpens are horrible for outside use, if you use them use them on busses subways and all that shit, because the dont smell that much, but the ink is horrible, it fades realy fast like the come completely off after it rains, but i do enjoy hitting bus stops with them. pilots are for sure the bettwer buy they stay on in the rain and dont fade, but there not great for drips, unless you modify them. i usually stick to pilots and sakuras.

jOker
10-14-2004, 02:03 PM
i think the otr's write way better and look sooo dope with the colorfull drips
but pilots have got to be the classic...refillable and if the nib wears down just flip it around and jam eraser felts or whatever in the top of the carcas to make up for the gap between the worn, inverted nib and the felt already in the carcass.
have had mine for atleast a year and a half and i swear by it!!!!

pSYKAOz
11-08-2004, 12:34 AM
um... flowpens do not get buffed by rain lol...

they actually stain alot... but pilots will leave a ghost on some surfaces...

i personnally screw up all my tags with pilots lol... too big and not big enuff haha...

like pentel white is my fave for small tags and an otr or montana for big ones.
as for the ink... just put in some marsh or nero and youll get a killer marker.

i suggest getting otr mettalics or h2b over the flowpen though...
and mixing nero and H2B ink makes a really nice ink... nero stains like hell but fades fast since what doesnt go 'in' the surfaces comes off easy, but H2B is really thick n black but doesnt go in as much... so u mix both ang get a really nice ink....

i dont really ever do drippy tags with pump system markers... i just like how the nib is shaped and its material and how its always juiced.... do a bunch of big quick tags with a pilot thats starting to not be so full and the nib wont be juiced enuff...

Royal47
01-10-2006, 03:56 PM
Ravek stated correctly that OTR's are fancier than the Pilot. I started with Montana L markers, which i find bad as the nib is not two sided, so you cant flip it over if it gets consumed. I have several OTRs, 1 flowpen which is perfect since the stock nib on a flowpen is better than the normal otr nib. it lets more ink flow.
But i hardly use my flowpen because theyre hard to find and the nib is more fragile than Pilots.
Pilot is perfect for any condition and surface, thats why its so popular and the fact that its got the nib connected directly to the cotton inside means that it wont leak (never did for me) and and you wont waste ink when you write.
As for clean lines, it depends on how much the nib is worn down and for flowpens the only part which is dirty is where theres a leak.
Pilots cost less than OTR's and i find them much more practical.

you's all mess on with stock ink, get sum grog or inferno ink, the best stain ink availible, fill ya flowpen with that and your sorted.

it will never fade, and will resist chemical buff definately.

i dont know where to get it over there, but in england its easy to come by.

also if ya cannit get ahold of stain, you could go to an old fashion shoe shop (omg) they should sell leather dye. same principal really, wont fade and will sort of resist buff, however not as much as real staina.

get purple leather dye it looks class - real cool effect.

and i havent a clue wot pilots are???????

and if ya havent got a pen and u have a burger or hot dog (in england its kebabs) tag windows with that - funny as fuck. the grease even congeals when ya look at them the next day, pure quality!

Vorce

as for pilots there hella fat permanent markers that are refillable

why waste a perfect hot dawg or kebabs( )

epik!
03-31-2006, 02:01 PM
yeah id go with pilots...dont leak, nice durable nib, and you store it upside down in your pocket for a while and it the nib wont dry out when you in the middle of a tag
not to mention very cheap and easy to get

Any idea's on geting the ink out of that and milking it into my black one? Sounds Crazy i know but I believ it still should be black. I just want my black to be more drippy when i put it to an eletrical box.

Would Hydrogen peroxide work well in there too?

Pilots 110% brah

Royal47
04-11-2006, 04:40 PM
they are both very different.
pilot is a classic and uses ink. use nero, grog, corio, montana..whatever ink you want. it wont drip in your pocket unless you over fill it. has a very strong tip and writes well.

otr 60's work with paint..pump system sometimes doesnt allow for a perfect flow of paint out of the tip. OBVIOUSLY there are more colours..but they are easy to buff as its acrylic paint.

otr inks work well..because its ink and it flows well..but again since its using pump system its risky because it can drip in your pocket. you can create effects by varying the pressure you put on the pen.

choose which one you like..
otr 60's are good if you tag places that are not going to get buffed regularly..
pilots win over the otr inks as they are 'cleaner' and more convenient. they cost less too.

i wouldnt suggest taking the "cotton" out of the pilot cause that absorbs the ink for it and its very usful. u dont want n e leakage.

Pilots suck compared to this marker my store used to stock, it was called SNOMEN... It was exactly like a pilot but it was plastic, and refillable but the ink inside wouldn't fade for years... I tested the both on a bus stop I take everyday to school in front of my home and the pilot ink faded in 2-3 weeks whilethe snoman is still jet black looks like I just did it.
If you guys can get a hold of that shit, You better get it. My store stopped selling it... I should have bought it and sold it to you guys.. oh well.

It didn't fade because it's paint, not ink. It won't stain like the Pilot will, but it'll hold better in the light

no, it was an ink kind. The one I had was ink, and it was the size of an otr but a little bit thicker and shorter.
