your letters are kind've plain NICK, try to add a bit more style to them. something to make them stand out of the ordinary but keep working at it and i know that you are getting better and i bet you'll have some awesome stuff in no time.

your supposed to ask questions, this is the toy story..a place to go for help :D

with 3-d, the best thing that i find that helps is do all your lines first (coming off the letters)...then connect those lines with more lines, paralell (spelled wrong) to your letters...the main key is making everything paralel, and after practice, everything will start to come togethor

listen marz i gave you advice before and you thought i was shitting on you... but i&#39;ll give you the same advice... if you can make these few simple changes than your throw will be A LOT better...

1) lose those black highlights. lose the highlights all together. it&#39;s a throwup and you don&#39;t need them... that being said there was one time i saw a silver throw with white highlights and a white forcefield (black outline/3D) around town and i thought it looks pretty cool.
2) get rid of the fancy 3D and add a simple lower-left or lower-right shadow-style 3D.
3) any other add-ons (drips) need not apply
4) try to make it so that your letters flow better together by being similar heights and widths. like from the top of your R to the top of the Z it &#39;drops&#39; down a bit. Also on yoru M, the left leg is wider than the right leg.
5) try adding a force-field or halo if you&#39;d like to have an add-on of any sort.
6) make your outline lines thicker or more visible somehow... it looks all kind&#39;ve blobbed together the way it is now.

oh, and for your own good, don&#39;t plaster your throwup all over town until you have tonnes of confidence. i know it&#39;s a bitch to wait but we&#39;ve all been there and we&#39;ve all had to pay our dues. i go out and look at some of the throws i did when i was newer to the game, and even though i had been sketching for months i still think they look hideous and i find myself going over them nowadays with my newer throwie because of embaressement.

as for kyrlon, it&#39;s drippy, but you will learn can control from it. just keep your hand constantly moving and don&#39;t go over the same spot too much (especially important to avoid blotchy drippy fills).
speaking of which, for throwups it&#39;s okay to do &#39;scratch fills&#39; where you fill the entire throwup with a few long back and forth lines... it&#39;s quick (and dirty), but gets the job done... and usually doesn&#39;t drip.


here&#39;s a scratch fill demonstrated by FATSO from halifax... notice how his fill is made up of a bunch of quick left to right lines.

the closer to the wall the can is the thinner the line is... also the thicker (more opaque) it is... but the chances of drips increases so move fast.

further away makes a bigger line, but it&#39;s less opaque (might be slightly see-through) as it goes on thin. less of a chance of dripping...

and of course, buying different nozzles to chance the size/pressure of the spray.

i&#39;m not sure if you were asking how to make a line go from think to thick or not.. but if you were than start with your can close and move it further away as you go... takes some practice.

the point of having the overlap go to the right is so that it makes the cross-section of an N. see how on a capital N the cross section starts at the top left and goes to the bottom right, thats why the overlap should do the same thing. having the overlap go the other way kinda makes some weird looking backwards N thing

AUSbomber - You&#39;re stuff is pretty nice man and you&#39;re rockin&#39; a style of your own, so we can&#39;t really help you out with it. If you&#39;re not happy with it, just keep sketching and the natural flow of things will take over until you have something that pleases you.

Marz - Bubble letters (throwups) are pretty much a required part of graff... just like a tag. Sure, they&#39;re not very artistic, are only 1 or 2 (3 in special cases) colors, and only take a few minutes to do, but you need to have it down before you can progress to anything else.
Also I wouldn&#39;t say they are for newbies... a nice throwup takes years of graff experience to perfect, and takes real balls and dedication for fame. Look at people like Damo. He&#39;s famous and he&#39;s mostly just tags and throwups (although he does do some sick pieces). It&#39;s because he&#39;s tagged and done throws EVERYWHERE. Same deal with SAKE. it&#39;s pretty cool marz. i still think it&#39;d look cool with a shadow style 3D (where your black outline gets thicker on the left sides and the bottom sides of the letters).

also i think that if your doing a throwup with a light colored fill, than a light colored halo would look good. but that&#39;s just personal preferance... for example, on the one you just did, i think a green halo would look better than brown just because i think the brown doesn&#39;t contrast with the black outline enough. also keep your halos skinny... just a single line with your marker, or a single stroke with the spray can. they&#39;re supposed to be one of those things to make your throwup &#39;pop out&#39; without drawing attention away from the letter style itself.

Make your letter straight with a ruler, and itll be easier to draw the 3d, it looks fucked cause you got those curves everywhere.

the reason being because it takes a lot longer to do a full out piece than to do bubble letters. what a person paints is usually defined by how chill the spot it. i wouldn&#39;t expect to drive down a busy road at night and see people doing 10 hour mural on a wall on the side of the road. likewise i&#39;d be disappointed if someone was dropping tags in some back alley that nobody ever goes to if they&#39;re capable of doing so much more.
