think of bombing science like a cake, everytime you go click somewhere, you dig deeper through the cake's layers.

first, you got the main site (http://www.bombingscience.com)
at the top of the page you can see 3 secttions. home, graffiti shop, and forums.
each of those is a second layer. you go to forums.
that's the second layer under the main page. here you can find all the diferent sections of the forums. the picture galleryy, the general discussion, the tools and tips and the toys forum.
each of those is a third layer. and ech is specific to what is described under it.
you go to the toys forum, and here you are in the fourth layer.
under the toy forum, you got all the different kinds of threads which are each a discussion on the topic specified in their titles. you got sticky threads (threads that are always displayed before other threads and can't be bumped down the list, no matter how long it has been since they were used, because they're important.) those are used to post your pictures, eacch a different category (throws, tags, pieces walls,,,) and you got regular threads beneath the sticky threads.
Also in the toy forum, right at the top, you can find a link to a fifth and final layer, which is tthe toy battles.
you go there and you can find all the differennt therads with all thhe diferent battles they contain.

every page of a thread can contain a mximum of 20 replies. so everytime this number is reached, a new page begins. you cn browse through the page numbers at both the bottom and or the top of the thread.
so if you posted on this thread, your posts are now probably sowmehere in the last few pages...

this has got to be the most annoying explanation I have ever given in this thread.

i doubt that comes off man. i mean it's hard to remove regular biro ink off clothes sometimes, let alone ink that was actually manifactured to be used for graffiti, which usually means it's more or less hard to buff or used for outdoor purposes where it's supposed to be harder to fade... it's all in the chemicals eventually..

theres a few guys on here that post panels... i used to flick mine like once a year when id take my gf along with me lol there was a yard close to my house but it was about 400ft below any roads around it so it was hard to come back in the day and flick my cars cuz of the angle... but ive had some fun there i can say painting trains is more relaxing and self-fulfilling than any other place ive written my name.... overpasses and ledges just scare me lol freights all the way... heres a couple pics i dug up prolly from '07ish.... or somethin... i have more somewhere but not on flickr

when you guys work on handstyles, do you have the intention of using the whole alphabet? i've been working with a few different ways of writing, but only my name, and when i think of writing other letters it doesnt come easy to me. just wondered if there was a better way to approach it or not. thanks!

Sorry if these questions sound stupid, but I will admit that I am a huge n00b. Anyways, I just started out a couple of days ago and was wondering how high are the chances of getting caught. I probably not your stereotypical writer, I've gotten private art lessons since I was a kid and was into finearts and etc but I've realized that I can't really express my thoughts through conventional means, a friend of mine suggested graffiti. I will tell you write now though that I'm not doing this as some kind of poser or whatever and that I take my art srsly. However as I am a senior in high school I don't want to blow my chances of getting into a good college after I graduate. Maybe this means that I'm not dedicated to graffiti as serious writers are out there, but like I said I'm just starting out and before I start getting super serious I really would like to know the chances of getting caught and how high the chances are of actually getting arrested. Oh and secondly I'd like to know if anyone else has done fine arts before and then moved to graffit. Like I said, sorry if I sound like a huge douche that just seems to be joking around or what not, but these are serious questions from me, especially the first one.

Uh, well, you can ask any writer whose actually a "real writer"(you wont find any on this site), and id say about 85% have been caught up for something related to graffiti, and about 95% have been caught up for something other than graffiti... the point is, if you do graffiti, and your not doing it in the woods or legally, its more than likely you will be caught.

If I was you, I would keep your means of "expressing yourself" on paper.

also you'd be surprised at the level of talent in a lot of writers, I think most are already artistically inclined, which is one reason they write. but if youre worried about getting arrested, dont do it. or buy some dry wall and never stop painting on it

You have to be dedicated to your writing, you know practice, practice, practice. Don't worry about getting caught, just focus all of your attention on the task at hand, and if you do get caught. Haul ass.

It depends on why you want to do graffiti: making yourself visible in the streets or the actual artform (or both, of course). If it's the first, there's no way to get around it, if it's the second, stick to paper/canvas or the wall in your backyard. Judging from your story, I wouldn't go out into the streets.
However, you need to practice on paper/your own wall anyway before you ever think of hitting the streets, so if you practice that for a few months, you can always decide to go paint the town red after that.

Stabilo Point 88 for the skeleton, Edding 1200 for fatter outlines. It works for black, but I don't know how well colours would go together. A combination of Stabilo Point 88 and Stabilo 68 or Edding 55 and Edding 1200 will probably work better for that. All are not very expensive and pretty durable.

I just found out I've had a scanner for years and never realized it...and now I'm really pumped.
But, I have tried it already and I get 2 options, scan and reprint or scan and save to memory card. I'm assuming to upload it to your computer you need the memory card but I have never used a scanner so can someone explain what type of memory card and what to do? Thanks

Yeah, it usually just saves to your harddisk as a default. I can't imagine you need a memory card. If the software itself doesn't run, you might need to install a driver in order for it to work. If that's the case, just go to the company homepage, search for the scanner type, and install the driver. Should be easy as pie.

buy cans. Paint with them. As for caps theyve pretty much fucked all the can systems over to male systems which shit all works for. Best bet is to try and find female cans and grab those while u can. paints paint. And no not all caps fit all cans. Ull learn through trial and error

Its ok to use rulers man... but to make a crisper line grasp your utincel lightly and move it briskly not pushin agains the paper hard.

I guess that shouldn't be too much of a problem when using a pencil, but it becomes a bitch once you start inking your stuff. If that's the case, just go and find a lot of pieces, drawings, sketches, etc that you find on the internet and like, and print them in greyscale. Then just ink all the lines on them. It's a great way to improve your inking skills, and - hopefully - also to increase the steadiness of your hand, since you're just practicing to draw all sorts of clean lines.

Plus, what Hipe said is absolutely true as well. And always turn the paper in such a way that you can most easily draw the line you need to draw. Your wrist and elbow can only do so much.

My advice would be to go to youtube and search "cap test" or "graffiti cap test" so you get a visual of the caps with different brands of paint. Do research because not all caps work on all brands of paint.

Markers shouldnt be a big deal, if your young enough to be worrying about being caught by your parents then your young enough to own marker pens without arousing suspicion. At the end of the day graff is like smoking and drinking, as much as they might hate it theres not much your parents can do to stop you doing it.

Before ordering graff supplies order a footlong dildo ....anything shipped to your house after that will be less of a worry for your parents.

I know that there is a markers thread but I felt like this was a better place to ask this. I have tons of sharpies and draw in my blackbook, dhl stickers, and label 228's. I also have a sharpie king size and some sharpie paint markers (gold and white). I really like the paint markers, what brand do you recommend for paint markers that are good on stickers? Also, a lot of people say to also get some prismas. Should I get some or are the sharpies good enough? My supplies aren't gonna make me write better but at the same time I hate how sharpies fade in the rain and everything. Should i just clearcoat it?

stock tipping's the best way to gain outstanding can control man... there ain't no better practice. I've done well over 60 full color piece with stock tips, and I can safely say they're the reason I got my can control down.
when you're a pro with stocks, everything else that supports interchangeable caps (ironlak, montana, belton...) is a piece of cake to handle.

Those art primo female fats do wonders too, so you could fill with those and then use the stock to cut the lines to save you some time.

Depends on if you're piecing, throwing, or just tagging. A can usually lasts you 2-3 fills on a normal sized throw, and you should carry a second around for lining. But you could tag all night with just one can. You're looking to do an actual big piece, I say come prepared. For everyday bombs, never carry more than a couple cans or so.

this question is for someone who uses paint pens frequently or knows about them...

basically this shit dries, but remains sticky if you press on it or put a book on it. anything with pressure.. and it can take some of the paint off and shit. is there a way to put something over so i don't have to keep watching out for this? did some shit on the cover of my book and kinda regret it cause i can't put it anywhere cause i got books on books or when i hold it... kinda gay.

Go to an art store and find some clear acrylic, or clear spray paint. Rusto makes "crystal clear enamel". Take your book and test it on a scrap page and let it dry to see how it works.

Basically Itll put a clear finish over your shit, so the paint pens wont leave sticky marks on the next page, but It might not keep the page from not sticking. if theres paint on a page, its most likely gonna stick the first few times u open the book again.

this question is for someone who uses paint pens frequently or knows about them...

basically this shit dries, but remains sticky if you press on it or put a book on it. anything with pressure.. and it can take some of the paint off and shit. is there a way to put something over so i don't have to keep watching out for this? did some shit on the cover of my book and kinda regret it cause i can't put it anywhere cause i got books on books or when i hold it... kinda gay.

is there some kind of primer cover type shit? don't really no my shit so ya any help is appreciated. they was decos if that helps I've come across the same problem. The clear coat works, you have to be very careful not to saturate and areas(pain in the ass with paper sometimes). When I use decos, ill put it in the sun for an hour or two. Helps take the stick off for the most part.

Outlines are all about preference, they are also about how u like to paint what you are painting. I use a fat cap to outline everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. pieces, bombs, characters, dicks, dead bodies, essays, vehicles, everything.

Im going out on a very very very strong limb here, and gonna assume u aint the best at painting, and have next to no can control, so a thin cap for outlining, a piece or shit in your case even a bomb, is gonna be very difficult for you. I suggest a medium size cap, like an orange dot, or a thinner type soft cap like a grey dot or a universal.... but hey, in the long run, its all about preference, and shit u gone do want u want anyways right?

you could try colored pencil over it or under, never really tried that though. if you have sharpies they work for blending, bics work. or just say fuck it, aint worth it. and just do it how you want it to look if you ever paint it.

Trying to blend a warm grey with anything isnt going to work, its gonna make the color look really dirty. What your going to want to do, is darken/saturate one part of the paper more than the other to get a light blending effect. So color the area the same direction all the way down, one time, so it looks streaky, and then take the pen and go over the part you want to be darker a few more times, while lightly coloring the other part of that color to make it not steaky, but not as dark.

Your going to have to be quick, but neat in order for it to work the way I think you want it too. So color it like ud fill it with paint, left to right from top to bottom, then allow more ink to go on the top than the bottom, or whatever direction you want the fade. Understand? IT takes a little marker skill, and the newer the marker the harder to do since a lot of them have a real dominant pigment, so it might take you a try or two. Itd be real hard to do with any kind of dark colored prisma, so your gonna wanna use your medium colors, like a regular green, or orange, or sky blue kind of colors

bar width consistency is good for simples, less extravagant pieces, and the like. it's good to get to know the basics, and it pretty much ensures good general form and balance in a piece. you can deviate if you like, it's no general rule, but usually you want most of the bars to be the same width. if you think a bar looks better thinner or wider, here and there, go for it. it's mostly used to keep toys on simples for a while so we don't have to see as many eyesores on the street, imo.
