Ok first of all use a vanishing point for your 3-d. So all the 3-d is going to the left side or all to the right side. See how you have 3-d on the m going to the left, yet on the n its going to the right. Also if you outline the fill it might have the 3-d stand out more. Other than that its not to bad you just need to keep practicing both with paint and in your black book.

The roman numeral is way too spread out...
Try to make it more compact length-wise..

The basic block is looking pretty good...
just try to keep your lines straighter..
and move the pen a little quicker to prevent your hand from shaking...

But my Non-asshole advise to him is:

1. Get a style.
2 Stick with that style
3. Pratice, pratice.
4 Get good letter structure
5. Play with the letters a little bit.
6. get good pens, pencils, or markers or what ever you like usein best.


none of thoes above are in any order.
Just Pratice alot. move your letters in closer. i dunno its kinda hard explaining over the computer...

well it&#39;s been a while and i have been working on my stuff so heres somthing it&#39;s just a sketch no color let me know what you think what all the mods have been saying "do basic lettering first then go from there" is true it works once you learn the letter structure then you can add on

This is just my opinion but I think the letters are too small compared to the add ons and arrows and stuff.

I made some adjustments with MS paint on the S it looked out of place like it was.

And, try doing different 3d, liket he box I drew on it, if it was going to that angle, it would take up some of empty space between the letters, which looks kinda wierd.

it says proxy, ive been messing around with that word the last couple of days. i like the flow it has. i might add 3d, a fill, and more color to the rose(which is a stamp from the kindergarten)

i jus started painting characs... shits hard. dont give up though hah. i posted my most recent one in the characters topic.... but i say use just black and white for right now just to get the basics down.... the brand of paint dont really matter. i like to use Rustoleum flat white with a no name cheap black paint.(like wallmart or k mart).... i wouldent do a whole character just yet. just a face.. look at other black and white faces to see where the shadow goes.. where the highlights go etc..

*if your already down with art it shouldent be that hard...
