i had a REAL close call tonight.
my n my bud went out skatin n i brought alone a paint can to diss this toy whos been goin around dissin peoples shite.

so i handled some of them and then i went for one that was in an alley.
it was like this. the alley was right of the sidewalk n right past the alley was a bush. little did i know there was a cop car behind the bush. i couldnt see it. so i just walk right into the alley n pull my can out. then i see the cop n i toss the can n walk back out pullin my zipper like id been peein. and the cop pulls up slowly watchin us. and then drives away real slow. so i think hes gone and i go back in the alley. my friend gives me the all clear n i start painting again. at the end of the alley i see a light shinin on the wall, but i thought it was a street light. so i finished and turned n looked down at the end of the alley again n that lights gone. so i drop the can n i back up and look n its the cop, backin up from the wall.
im scared to death now. hed been sittin there watchin. i dont think he saw me tho. so i drop the can n tell my friend come on. we come out of the end of the alley the cop was on, trying my best to act like id just been pasin thru. the cop drives to the edge of the parkin lot(on the other end of the alley was a parkin lot.) n he just sits there n watches us cross the lot. n i do my best to not look suspicious, n finally he pulls off.

scared me to DEATH.

we circled the block n grabbed my can n we left.

i did manage to diss every single one of that guys tags i could find.

yes. i get that. but your saying you were gonna go over someone, saw a cop, acted like you were peeing, the cop drove away then you saw him a few minutes later. thats not a close call, a close call is when you have to run from cops or leave 5 seconds before they get there.

If that&#39;s a serious question ...You could pull off 2 letters but it would kind of seem like a sign, trademark type thing more then a name and doesn&#39;t give you much to work with if you wish to develop letterings&#39;. If you prefer working with only 2 letters in my opinion it would be better to choose a longer word and use two of the letters as an abreiviation (ie. write &#39;gerkin&#39;, but work with "gn", "gkn" or whatever) therfore giving ya more options.

Most do a rough outline in the fill colour.

Fill.

Then outline last.

On paper it prolly easiest to do outline then fill it but a real throw-up is as d_g said, throw up an outline in fill colour, fill it, throw up an outline. In my opinion shit kind of works easiest in reverse on paper ...a sketch is easiest generating your structure and creating an outline from the begining, whereas in paint you keyline last. Even though you may mark out the entire outline first ..due to the opacity/solidness of colour in paint outlining first generally isn&#39;t possible unless you have insane control, but on paper outlining first keeps the work much more controlled.

beone...heres how i learned drop shadow....pick a way that the light would be coming from...lets say towards bottom left...i just kinda imagine its like cut out on a piece of paper n see where the shadow would be.....then i gota imagine that i could move the piece/throw/simple in the shadow...idk im bad at explaining things...doubt you will understand this...


to the kid with the question about caps...if you are just starting...jus get some ny fats....pink dots are a waste of money if your just starting to use different caps because you need to learn howm to use them correctly to get the spray size they describe...so just get the ny fats and practice with them...still pretty fat but nowhere near as fat as the pink dots..

About the drop shadow. The easiest way I find to do it is imagine your throw was all black, no fill, or outline. Then move that black fill say up 0.5" and left 0.5" (on a sketch) with your throw on top.

Kinda hard to explain, but if you see the guide in the &#39;New 2 Graff&#39; thread you&#39;ll now what I&#39;m talking about.

your not a toy when you are known and respected by the experienced writers in your area, your not a toy when you know you have structure down to second nature, there are many other factors, but you shouldnt worry if your a toy or not, you should not worry about anything,but gain as much knowledge as you can and perfect your style and stay up ya dig?

I have that problem too, they&#39;re about the same size as a NYFat but they&#39;re lower pressure so you can hold the can really close to the wall and get no drips. I can get clean lines about 1/2" wide with them.

And it depends how good these "hardcore" kids are, if they are terrible then go over thats shit if not then leave them be. Who knows you might end up starting a crew.

For those, that were complaining about the 3 pages of flirting with Jelis in toy bombs thread, they are now deleted. There is a bunch of other shit that needs to be deleted too, but....let me explain my new schedule and why I&#39;m not palying that shit right now... I get woken up to feed the baby at 12:00am, 3:00am, 6:00am. I&#39;m usually up 45 minutes at a time. Then I go to work thru the day, so sleep is kind of a bitch to get in there.

Now here are a few questions for you to ponder...

What is the busiest picture based forum? .....(answer-toy forum)

How many mods are there for toy forum?.....(answer- 2 that actually even come in here, and NCI isn&#39;t able to come that often either...)

How many mods work the big boy picture threads to keep them clean?....(answer- there&#39;s like 6 of them........)


Now that you see the numbers, please understand the reason why you have to patrol yourselves a bit better. If you want picture based threads free of chat, then monitor eachother, cause I don&#39;t have a couple hours a day to weed thru shit anymore. It&#39;s perfectly fine to hit a train with blockbuster letters, but since the letters are so simple, you might want to think about doing it big, with a roller, and take up most if not the entire train, and concentrate on making it look really really clean, so yes, its fine to hit a train with blockbuster letters, just remeber, the bigger and cleaner the better

Five names since I started about 6 months ago. The first name I had flowed really nice as a tag for me but nothing else, same with the second. Third and forth I found ok with throws and handys but the first two letters were too similar for more complex sketches. I think I&#39;ve found a name now that sits well in all areas but at the moment I&#39;m having trouble with &#39;S&#39; sitting before the &#39;A&#39; but I don&#39;t think it will be too bigger of a deal.

I never really &#39;got up&#39; with any of my names so it hasn&#39;t really affected me much.

In terms of peices Z is an awesome letter. It&#39;s neutral in shape, in that you can have it at the start, middle or end of a word and it will give you a lot to play with. You can run extensions off either side of it, or run it with no extensions at all and it will fill an even amount of space. It&#39;s true that it&#39;s a harder letter for throws as it kind of goes against the grain if starting your letters mid-left (which is fairly typical) but it&#39;s worth putting the time in to learn for general writting.

the ATAK thing is done with one of those pump weed spraying things. you can buy them at hardqware stores, there fro spraying weeds, except u fill them with paint and vwella

My hand gets really shakey when i try drawing really straight lines, would that be a problem with the way im holding the marker/pen/pencil? or is it just me and i have a problem thats not easily fixed? (im aware just some pople have shakes but this only happens when coming to drawing.) people say practice but ive been practicing and yet see no improvement. any ideas suggestions would be really helpful.

Reminder- Over the years, most every topic that&#39;s worthwhile has already been posted for toy forum. There are few acceptions. General discussion is a little more loose, cuzz it&#39;s random blabber as opposed to cultivating experience and knowledge.
