no1good write out an a bunch of letters (hell do the whole alphabet) then choose which letters you are best at and construct a word from there. There's no point having the coolest word in the world if you cant write it well or you could write something else way better.

i went to the art section. took a whole 24 box of prismas opened it and dumped it into my pocket. went to the sharpies and took a bunch. grabbed a few gold and silver paint pens. went back to the art section and grabbed a new blackbook.
went to the counter. sat the pad down and paid for it so i didnt look too suspicios.

What caps do writers use for doing fills? Seems that fat caps would be too high pressure and harder to control and skinny caps would be too low pressure and take too long. Doesn&#39;t really seem to be a large range of middle size caps...

Just do what you want to do, do your own shit.
It makes no sense if you just want to do the same thing other writers do; only because you think it&#39;s not cool what you are doing.
If you want to do something, just do it. You dont go ask people if you can, do you think legends like cope2 did that? No. they just do their own. That&#39;s why they got famous, nobody is waiting for the next writer who is just copying others styles.

Just someone who tags only can be considered as a writer just do what you want, and i agree with esstyle, don&#39;t just ask, be original and just do your own.
You feel alot better when you have actually done everything on your piece by yourself. Even when it looks like shit.
Always better than just ask everytime you want to do a piece how to make the letters or how to colour it.
I am not saying you may never ask. Maybe for basics or something..

So...Last night I went to a Help fight cancer lock in at my school. They didnt lock me in very well. Me and my friends snuck out and went bombing. We drove over to this chill spot I found parked the car on the road and snuck back to the wall. Just chilled and practiced and shit for about 30 mins then decided to move on. were walking back to the car theres no one around and were talking about racking some paint from walkmart, cause no one else is open this late. My friends opening the car door but taking forever and all of a sudden I hear "Busted" and I looked up and started searching the area the guys was like a house down just standing there with his arms crossed staring us down. we flipped jumped in the car and drove off. Were driving back into school and my friends goes did you grab my bag like i asked you? Of course I didnt Its not my bag, and I didnt hear him. So we didnt feel like parking or walking near that guys house, so instead since the wall is off a road we decided to pull off the road(quite busy) and have me sprint across 6 lanes of traffic grab the bag and get back in the car. I&#39;m hoping he didnt get the liscence plate number but we do have a pretty solid alibi. We didnt get caught sneeking out or in.

i just got a molotow 640pp burner marker, and everytime i go to use it, it comes out like clear with a hint of paint, and its not giving me the full paint effect.

It&#39;s because it&#39;s a paint marker I beleive.

I don&#39;t even know why Molotow/Montana/OTR make these fucking things, they&#39;re so fucking useless. They work for a while until you stop using it for a bit and the paint dries up and never flows through the fucking nib again.

Tip the paint out, buy a new nib and some ink (not OTR H2B/Flowpen ink, fuck OTR ink).

i completely disagree. homemade mops are the only good markers to use. i got an otr a while back...the shit sucks horribly. barely any ink flow, horrible opaqueness, and almost impossible to get drips(i&#39;m not a big fan of drips anyways tho). moral of the story is name brands are for faggets.

although...i was looking at one marker here on bs...can anyone tell me how that gold, squeezy, bottle mop works. looks pretty bomb.

Which OTR did you get?

The ink flow on mine is fine for a dripless tag, only need to pump it every few tags. Opaqueness is fine (the ink overall is pretty overated but it&#39;s worth using ). I can get a drippy tag with my H2B, although it doesn&#39;t drip like mop or a squeezer but if I wanted those drips I&#39;d use one of those. The nibs on them are fine, reasonably stiff without being too stiff.

Mops made from shoepolish come out fine but markers made with chalkboard erasers never really seem to last that long and nibs always seem to be streaky, well for me anyways. Sometimes you can&#39;t beat stuff that&#39;s premade.

I can&#39;t see any difference between buying an OTR and buying that squeezer marker, it&#39;s just an empty window marker or binger dabber.

If you&#39;re not into paying for shit there&#39;s a few companys around that use the same marker as OTR use but it&#39;s filled with either liquid chalk, glue or paint.

What it do?

I come from a small town of less then 2000 people and there are no writers around. None, no tags, throwys, bombs, anything. The closest city is 30 miles away and it is also lacking. Only the trains are the ones with anything on it and Im not even sure it was done there. So, I was wondering what would be my best bet to start? I have never been an artist but I love to draw and have always admired the graff I see when I do travel around. I have put a picture up and hope that will tell me what needs to be done becuase It was quick and horrible. Im just trying to get a sense of style and tech. down. Also, I was wondering what you guys thought of the name. Is it too cliche or long?

i got some touch markers but when ever i us them they do a clean line at first but then it kinda bleeds into the paper and the line or fill isent clean anymore... im not sure if im being clear or not. Could some one give me some advice im not sure if its me that using them wrong or if paper isent right or maybe something else?

I just used cans for the first time today and my shit was so wack.

I used a can of rusto and walmart brand and both sprayed TOO FAST which caused me to have MAD DRIPS. Are the cans suppose to spray that fast?

and My hand started cramping up just pressing the damn thing shits so hard especially on the walmart brand, how do you make the button easier to press?

what some good ways to get better using cans?

2000 people? That is tiny.... No worries. If you have a train layup nearby, then you have a direct connection to some of the most dedicated writers nationwide. But don&#39;t piss them off by putting up toy steez on the line. You have a good years worth of sketching an painting on plywood ahead of you before you go hitting those. (That&#39;s just an probable guess,the year thing, but a very likely scenerio).. You need to learn line structure and flow. Practice the most simple of block letters, and simple letters for tags even. Slowly add flavor, and by slowly, I don&#39;t mean write a word in blocks twice and then bust some arrows on the third. Blocks help you to gain control of your hand eye coordination and evenness. It takes a while to develope that. Keep coming here for inspiration and feedback, and go to the yards and bench. Take photos. You&#39;d be suprised. If you see some hot shit, it likely didn&#39;t come from the next town over. It could&#39;ve come from a big writer across the country. What line do you have there?
Also, I wholeheartedly agree with what alive said. Tags and throwies are not for a town of 2000 with no other writers. That&#39;s a city game. Streets are competitive in urban areas. Kids war. Tags are like firing off a warning shot from a pistol. Throwies are like a sawed off shotgun. Sorry to use the stupid gangater analogy, cuzz I hate gangsters, but then I don&#39;t participate in competitive graffiti anymore either. No more tags, and I never could do a decent throwie. :( Nothing will get your town more heated up then trying to do big city graffiti in cow country. Be nice to the community, and they&#39;ll tolerate you to an extent. My city is relatively small. 60,000. No graff before me. I started it up, but made some bad choices and now theirs a bunch of shit writers pissing everybody off ( I like to blame Marc Ecko for that.. :lol: ), but I switched up to street art and I think people see me more as an ally now then an enemy. You just gotta handle yourself well in a small town is all I&#39;m sayin. If you work hard and don&#39;t burn your bridges, some opportunities my open up for you down the road, and you may as well take them if they do, cuzz in a small town, street cred is pointless. You just need talent. Mybe people will like your shit (down the road, cuzz there&#39;s no chance in hell they&#39;ll feel it now... ;) )) and let you paint the side of there dtore or some shit. I&#39;m working on a portfolio to a local gallery for a poster installation exhibition.

Hey man, thanks for the help, and the others as well. Yeah, I do have a long road ahead and I plan on doing what I can with what I have. Not sure about the railway. There is not one in the town itself but in the next one there is. Now, coming up with a name is hardddd. I dont want it to be, you know, lame or cliche like mine is now. Im toying with words and letters and hopefully Ill find something. But I am taking donations ;)

they have spray guns that you can attach to the cans. squeez the trigger and it presses down the cap for you. my friend gave me one the other day but i havent really tested it out yet.

they didn&#39;t spray too fast, you just moved too slow compared to your distance from the wall.

of course your hand is going to cramp up, you just painted for your first fucking time. after a while your hand will strengthen up.

don&#39;t expect to have anything close to good can control when you&#39;re just starting to paint. as with anything it takes time to gain good skills. just paint paint paint and you&#39;ll get better, but keep it to unseen walls so your learning/skill gaining shit isn&#39;t an eyesore

if you have good skills, even cheap walmart paint can be used with good result.
no use in dishing out cash for expensive graff paint if you don&#39;t even have the skills to use it.
