Question. If I've used one cap on a can with black paint, can i take the cap off that can and throw it on another can of a different color? I'm going ot doing my first throw up soon, and I have a black can with a really wide cap. Kind of want to use it for my fill.

either way, dont bring more than you need to bring. i know some kids who bring way too much when they first start going out and its just a hassle. all you need a couple cans, an extra cap or two, a marker, and maybe something for protection. always run if you get caught and dont be afraid to hit a security guard or average joe if he grabs you. just whack em with the can and theyll let go probably. dress like the area youre in. dont wear nice clothes in a bad area and shitty clothes in a nice one. messenger bags are my favorite for bombing because its quick access and pretty quiet, theyre good for racking too. if you dont have one you can always just carry your paint in a plastic shopping bag or something. wear gloves while painting but dont leave them on in between. always know where you are and the fastest way to get out if the cops roll on you. if it comes down to hiding in a dumpster for an hour or two or going to jail, choose the dumpster. homeless people are fucking crazy stay away from them. never let a cop search your shit without first having probable cause, never consent to anything. if you get harassed, memorize his badge number and get his ass in trouble. always shake up your paint before you go out.
never tell a person you dont trust fully what you write and never even admit to writing graffiti. cops may tell you they know you do and theyll let you off easy or whatever but they are lying. its their job to sound convincing to people they might be able to arrest. look out for video cameras. when piecing, wear a good respirator. you can rack 'em from home depot or pay like 30 bucks and get one. if someone tries to jump you for your paint spray them in the face.

Just get some stickers, throw your tag on it, and instead of getting out a can/marker, taking off the cap/lid and writing it out on whatever, just bust out the sticker, remove it from it's back thing, and slap the bastard on the bus stop or something.

I find this works great if it's not late yet, and there still people out (like at 7:00 - 10:00), I just casually sit there at the bus stop, and throw a sticker on the wall behind myself. Just make sure your not putting the sticker upside down, ha ha ha.

its still not as noticeable though....all you need to do is get your tag down so you can do it quick. thats why i'm in love with my one-stroked tags...

I will always recomend not choosing a name till you can actually write. Just work the alphabet over and over until you get some flow. See what letters suit you best. then pick a neame from those letters, but keep in mind, just because you can make a nice handstyle out of something doesn't mean it will peice well.

I can write Cezr real nice, but peicing it is a bitch. the letters don't fit together well at all.

nah listen, u got it, look, the EZ flows real nice, u lose it only with the other letters. actually the EZR works, its really just that C. look, in all the other letters the bottom bar goes up down, on ur c it goes up much more and barely goes down at all. meanwhile the vertical line in it is fatter and doesnt flair down like the others. its also farther away from the other letters. also the CE floats, and the ZR touches the ground.

pretty much all markers are available if you have a graff store near you...but the most common are pilots, deco, posca...and stuff like that....if you have a michaels near you, rack a zig 2 in 1 or a zig woodcraft and throw your own ink inside it

yeah it takes a while though. you really gotta stick with it.

also, don't just practice graffiti. go for art in general. if you can only draw graffiti, it's kinda nice, but it's waaaay better to be able to draw what you want in general. Plus, learning to draw in general will speed up your graffiti progression.

Olick, first of all you cant be sarcasm, thats sarcastic. And second of, posts on bombing science mean absolutely nothing. Its not liek you have to post a flick every time, in fact most of the forums on bombing science are just random chat. if you have them pretty much down you're way far off (and i dont believe you have them pretty much down. i just barely got my simples down and still working) keep doing simples and have fun with that. you needa learn to bend and screw your simples till you get flow - when you get flow you will find extensions alot easier to calculate...

That's actually a tough one man. Developing a handstylestyle just takes ALOT of time and practice. Go to some back to school sales and get a bunch of 10 cent notebooks. Fill them up. I always advise practicing with chisel tip pens. It'll give you a better idea of what your line is doing, plus it just looks better. Work the entire alphabet. write whatever words pop into your head, experiment with each letter. You'll do something new and like it, and it will still probably suck. Just keep working at it. I won like 8 handstyle battles in a row on here last year and thought my handyrock was pretty ill. Looking back at the pictures, I hate my old handstyles. Study the tags thread in picture gallery. Don't bite, but look at the pictures and break down the tags. What's each letter doing? Try and figure out where the tag started and where he finished. Where do the lines curve? Where do they meet? all that shit will help you. Good luck

IMO handys are harder than pieces.

I mean like you can sit down, easily rock 100's of hands and still only have something half-decent.

Yet a 10s of simples and you can have something nice.

generally the fill is done first (paint your letters then fill in with same color) then outline then shadowing/3d usually done in same color as outline, then u do a final outline over the whole thing. there also throw ups with no fills (just an outlide) and throw ups with no shadowing or 3d, all depends what u wanna do. fills can also be solid or dusty looking

it really depends on what/how which cap etc. etc... just try out alot of different ways with different caps and you'll figure out what works best for you. but general really close with outline (makes a fine thin line that doesnt dust around) and further out with fill (covers a large area, dusts more and loses more paint that way)

its ok to start by biting, until u can develop your own style. simples are a good way to start with letters, once u have your simple letters down u can start bending them and shifting them in certain places etc etc.

A male tip has a stem to put into the can. A female tips has no stem. It has a hole that fits around a stem on the can. Unless you're into modding, you wants male caps... Rusto doesn't work with most caps. Rusto fats with the orange circle work, but I actually don't know what cap to use for an outline with those...

male cans are cans that have that little dick sicking out of them. female cans montana, belton, rusto, krylon, color place, american accents etc are all female cans because they have a "vagina" where you stick the cap in. if you have a hairspray can, they are usually male cans if you need an example.

also, i heard rusto has this new "valve" where only their stock tips can work on them to prevent writers like us using fats and skinnies for graffiti. im not sure about this though so dont take my word for it. i just heard it from someone else.

use a money order. or if you want to use a more convienient and faster way, go to longs, walgreens, walmart, albertsons or anything like that and go to their gift card aisle and buy a vanilla visa gift card. they have cards worth 25$, 50$ and 100$. since they dont have a card holder name, you can only use it on some websites. art primo lets you use them. bs doesnt. but if you want something off a certain website that doesnt let you use the gift card, then make a money order. it might take you an extra week or too because of th processing time though.

yea i used an orange dot on caribean blue and the shit jsut exploded all over my hands..But to fill with the stock tips its relativly easy. Just not good for fine detail because thye spray out so much paint. But the krylon stock caps are alright for outlines if you go really fast and clean up some of them drips. Kinda answered my own question..But today i went to wal mart to see if thye did change the cans..i took off the caps and realised some of them have red vavles and some white(Thee accents mostly had white) Dont know if thats important info for the "New valves" idea but w.e bakc to krylon for me..fucking dicks at rusto are gonna go so broke now..

I swear after about about four or five good peices I'm like out of a 24 pack, but whatever I guess they're good while they last.

well usually you would place your letters with your fill color by pretty much doing an outline, then fill it in, then do a fresh outline with your outline color.
I don't see why you wouldn't do the outline after the fill, unless they are getting some sort of look that they actually want.
Fill caps are usually pretty feathered at the edges, so thats why you would want to put the outline on after, because it sharpens the fill edges and gives the whole piece a sharp edge.

if it looks out of place maybe you don't have your basic letter structure down 100% on the other hand you just started dropping extensions so its not gunna look godly right away. keep practicing it, go kill some notebooks and you'll get better. if you don't fear flames and aggravation post flicks in the toy bb thread. SOME people will be good/nice enough to help you

small caligraphy cap i believe. thiers another version of it too. thiers a red cap with a lil black thing. you can twist them around so you can get all types of angles and such. the red cap is the LARGE caligraphy cap

does the red cap look kinda like the stock red caps exept with a black dot instead of white? i think i have a few of those if so. just havnt used them yet

well see, i got busted about 6 months ago and they did take in my fingerprints, and im still paintin...
and i also heard fingerprints can go through some gloves, latex gloves that is.
and last week i was painting without gloves, but i wiped the can off with my hoodie, hoping that the fingerprints would come off

if i was you, i would just take a can that you plan on taking back home with you and spray the outsides of the used cans, itll get rid of prints without getting paint on your hoodie

1/3 oilbased WHITE! rusto.

then you add the entire tube of one of those things you got thier.

if you add the DARKBLUE! youll get a light blue result. because your adding that shit into WHITE. so yah. hard to explain but i hope you get the idea.

When you hold the can close to the wall it makes a smaller mark on the wall.

When you hold the can further away from the wall it makes a bigger mark.

When you think of the paint coming out of the tip like this (looking side on)

well either way youll get the same result.

oilbased paint and paint thinner hahah. the whole point with the "white rust being thinned out like water" was to set a base so you can start adding colors. adding the blue would have turned into light blue.

if you want the paint to shine like chrome.then just add a bit of aluminum dust until you get the sparkleness you want

olick is wrong....just straight artist paint adn thinner is shit it takes for ever to dry and once it does dry you can rub it off with your finger....if you mix it with crome it'll like like a nasty grey blue collor i tried it befor its not worth it sorry.....im bored out of my skull.....who has ink questions i need soemthing to do haha

that isnt a bad idea(it'd be weather proof and have nice colors too)youd want to use japan drier instead of normal paint thinner though speeds up that slow drying time....

ok i think im gonna have to go out this week to look for this stuff. But i've just made a batch of purple paint using turps, white oil paint and pink and green oil paint.. It seems alrite, but I didnt have much white to make it opaque. But I added brake fluid which should help stain shit...... hmmm i dunno..:S

paint isnt suposed to stain unless you add ink to it "OMG ink isnt suposed to mix with paint" who cares. lol use half ink and half paint ratio and you should get a nice effect. the ink will tint your paint a little but atleast you might get some stain to it and a nice effect. and smoothiebooboo. roguebooboo said so and it works nukkuh

and smooth nuts he said its OIL based artist paint. so you dont have to add anything really. its just like making ghetto junobo i guess.

and yes..chrome + any color will look like shit. ive tried.

if you want it to be weather proof or dry to a harder finish you could add polyurethane. shelac. or varnish.
