Anyone else ever had Montana gold go nuts when you put an NY fat cap on it? I still don't paint anywhere (not until I consider my skill to be somewhat legit)...........but I practice in my backyard. I picked up a can of montana gold because they were on sale. I put on the ny fatcap and within a couple of minutes it was leaking all over. Is that normal?

Masta - hmm.. i only used german outliners and pink dots, haven't realy been discovering caps. For throws use fat caps, I have heard that people say that rusto fats are good. For simples it depends, how big are you going to do it and stuff, use fat for filling.

Being the toy I am I busted off the nib of my krink k-60 pretty fast while using it. guess im just so used to my markwell nib. The soft felt tip part just came off and I was able to get it, but im worried when trying to put it back on it's going to get messy as hell, and I really don't want to fuck up the sink in my dorm room and have my roomate pissed off. Any suggestions on how to get it back on without getting ink everywhere, and tips on how to keep that thing on.

sorry if this is a bit of a shitty answer but
take the 4 letters you have and write em all out seperately in a clean font then just start to steez them up a bit, make bits bigger, shorter, make bits bend more or flat more whatever.
Just look at alot of pictures, i'm not saying bite, but if you just look at alot of pictures you'll get the idea

Yeah Leaks, don't fuck with Etch. You can get in a LOT of trouble with that shit. You could be charged with a felony first time caught using that stuff.

I dnt know if this has been said but every time i use my marker to put the white on the inside of one of my pieces, it always goes away and i have to go over it like 30 times to make it look like its fully there. What am i doing wrong or what? I used all the white paint markers i could get and they all do the same

Pressure is the compressed air in the can....If there is low pressure it will come out slow and you'll be able to do smaller lines like belton, high pressure comes out faster and bigger.

i read somewhere that low pressure is actually variable pressure meaning if you press down lightly their is less pressure and if you press it all the way down its full pressure but high pressure cans are fixed rate pressure so no matter how much you press the cap down it'll always come out the same, just like on and off

What is the best marker or mop as far types of surfaces it can be used on? Like most normal markers can only be used on metal, plastic, glass, etc, but I was wondering if there was any markers out with truly tough nibs that can cover a wider range of surfaces such as concrete or stone. (And actually look have decent without destroying your nib.)

One guy asked if you can use two different brands of paint together, of course you can! Things like this are common sense it would seem, but yeah also the guy who asked if your tag can be a character, there are no rules to graffiti, so just do it. People overcomplicate graffiti a lot, but honestly it's writing on the walls and that's it, so just throw up your character who cares if its a tag or not. Lastly I would like to recommend to anybody in here who wants to get better to use bars, and draw simples until your sick in the stomach until you can do them backwards in your sleep then when you think you are good enough to stop doing simples, keep doing them because you still suck. Eventually you will just make it better and better until you find something you like. this is just a general post to all toys...

U usually use outdoor bucket paint, and it depnds on your thiner, isopropyl alcohol works good for me.

Use the base of your paint/ink. If it is oil based use thinner/stripper, if its ink use alcohol/DA, if its acrylic use water. Just add more thinner untill you get the consistency you want, just remember that paint doesnt flow through pens with out other chemicals (like xylene) so it only needs to be thin enough to go through a mop.

i had the same problem. so i added some brake fluid and a bit more thinner. works fine. and remember that if your using a mop like a junobo mop you have to take out the regulator or the paint(ink) wont go through.

Has anybody got advice how to tag with squeezers when it's cold weather? I just got some of the empty krink kind mops, yesterday I did a tag on a door, I didn't squeez the marker at all and everything got fucked up, eventualy my tag was like a big splash of ink.
Is there a special way I have to use the mop to not get the tags fucked up? Or does it depend what surface do I tag, like are there things that I can tag when it's cold without fucking the tag up? I thought id rather ask then to fuck something up with ugly ass shit.

Yes I know all of that, I have made exelent squeez tags just how I wanted in the summer when it still was warm. I asked a question how to use it in winter, because all my tags are getting fucked up because of that. I tagged on a surface what was clean and dry and I didn't squuez at all but still the tag got fucked up. But thanks anyways.

Use chalkboard erasers, they are the easiest and best to use.

Keep the cans warm, strap them in between you and your jacket. Keeps the paint at a normal temp. This will help a tiny bit with paint problems but you need to remember that once you start painting cans begin to get cold and if its cold out side it could be a bad combination. Full out pieces would be a problem but throw ups and small bombs shouldn't be affected too much.

Use soft caps, and spray & move back/tile the can away as you spray to lightly dust the wall or whatever.

I've never done it so don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that'll help a bit.

One problem with this advice is that most tips i have seen them give toys is to stick with simple letters and that's about it i mean i know doing simple letters is a very big key to even getting started but seriously i know the vetrans got a hell of alot more advice to give then "stick to simples"

I got it all off, I think that ink is more staining. But paint came off quite easily, just had to spray the solvent and scratch it a bit.

It's not an oil based paint, or an ink, so the only thinner you can use to my knowledge is water. Which is one of the reasons it is not preferred by the graff community.

Graffiti is not something that there is set letters for. The point is to make up your own shit.The letters you see on the screen and on your keyboard are the base for all graf. You really need to read the new to graffiti thread.

You DO NOT look at other peoples tags, throws or pieces and use their letters as your own, that's called biting and its stealing work from another.

Graffiti alphabets and fonts are only for inspiration only, you never copy off anyone.

they dont really start to leak, they just freeze, unless you have belton, taht shit doesnt freeze at all. anything below 35 will probably clog your shit up while your using it, you can help preventing that by sticking hand warmers and icyhot backpain patches to your cans and lining your bag with foil, but once you start spraying cans will get cold eventually, and so will your hands. that shit suuucckkkss

Not cardboard. Acetate. If you goto staples and get like the overhead projector transparencies those work really good.

Paper will fold up on you, no matter the type, eventually it will curl up. Paper tends to rip easy and the amount of care you have to give it and clean it etc. is a waste for what you put into it. With transparencies (or laminated sheets) your stencils will come out much better, be more durable and look clean like the first time.

Wrek- I've heard great things about touch twin and equally great things about prismas. Some people swear by prismas and others touch twin, don't worry about it. Either way if you know ow to use them correctly it will come out clean.

Balance-Most artists start about 13-17 I would guess. Just comes down to how creative you can get, and how often you practice.And looking at art in general will build your aestetic(sp?) eye naturally, so sooner or later you'll see the diffrence between good stuff and bad.

Also, word on the street is you can get rusto fats on the elmer's spray adhesive. I got a couple and when i test sprayed them it wasn't really that fat at all. Am I getting the same caps? They have an orange dot in them. I used the cap from that 3M photo adhesive (its in the caps thread. its black with that yellow part on it) for a fill and the "rusto fat" i got off the elmer's for the outline on a throw i did. Ill have pictures soon.

the rusto fat i get off the elmers adhesive(a small blue can)...not really as "Fat" as Pink dot or Level 5 fat, but fills in ok for me, what can do you use it on, i mostly use mine on the Rust-Oleum metallic when im doin quick throws...

WD-40 caps are needle caps and have a terrible trip problem. Invest in some german outlines or ny thins. As for the inks, just a simple black pen ink recipie with potasium perm. added should do fine. If you wanted as hard staining as you can get, just wait in line for some Grime ink. Vagrant makes it and in his tests it was unbuffable and was able to see through a roll over of paint.

what up... im posting a lot of questions but why not this is what its for... um alright so c and O and S dont have any bars it seems like to me... so how do i bend them.. i dunno its just hard for me.. i can draw letters that i see but when i try to make up new shit i cant do anytrhing with those letters

Balance-Bars don't need to be straight, just the lines need to be parallel to one another. C,O,S all have bars, they are just bent. Think of the letters, just bolded/thicker.
