TOYOTA PAYS RESPECT TO HIP HOP
- Through DJ Battles and Sneaker Design Competitions the Yaris vs. Yaris Campaign Elevates the Ideals of the Hip Hop Community-
WHO/WHAT
DJs, MCs, B-boys and B-girls will square off in mock battles, representing the Yaris Liftback or Sedan, at a customized boutique lounge in Chicago for the launch of the Yaris vs. Yaris Live Event Series. The event will also announce the Chicago and national “Fresh Kicks” sneaker design and “Bangin” DJ contests winners. This free party includes entertainment by celebrity MCs Dice Raw and Truck North and a NBA 2K7 tournament.

Toyota gives a playful head-nod to a fundamental part of old school hip hop battlin’ by pitting the Yaris liftback against the Yaris sedan in its integrated program, “Yaris vs. Yaris.” The Yaris vs. Yaris Live Event Series is based on a battle platform – a person/clique desire, to out perform each other. The concept is arguably the most recognized in hip-hop culture. Yaris is touring the nation with a series of battling-inspired hip-hop events in Houston on June 7, Atlanta on June 14, Washington, DC on June 21 and Chicago on June 28.
