Just wanted to make a thread for those peeps who love to paint. This is for, tips of painting, can choices, tip choices, best colors, and any thing else to do with paint!

"iight they didnt work cas im sure u werent using belton or montana both those paints work find with gold dots cas how much finned the paint particals are also there presure senstive caps which means u can controll how thick n thin the line is but it take awhile to do that and they clog really easy if u use them with krylon and rusto

but as for other thins cas im liek u i need fuckin pencil thin lines

ny thins - there fatter then u want personally i dont liek um buit some cat sware by them

pro skinnys- i love these caps there probably my second fav for thins

needle caps - there also pencil thin lines but i have never used them im tell u form what i have heard from sick writers that there good for thin lines but they also suck

rusto stock caps- man these caps are SO underrated there fuckin sick for sketches (frst outline) these are my third fav thin caps

montana hardcore stock tips- my fav's there awesome for sketch there SO sick

outline 2s- there better then the first ones


also the type of paint will effect the line liek if u get montana alien colors there the sickest there low pressure and come stock with pro skinnys the low pressure stlye and the pro skinnys are a sick combo im serious its pencil size lines

belton, belton has the same low pressure system that the alien cans have so there both dope and if you didnt know low pressure meanss the paint sprays out slower so u get about 60% more can controll so better outline and better sketches"


now onto fats
ny fats are also great for hands just liek outlines and outlines2 they work perfect on rusto blacks

rusto fats these used to be my fav but now i dont know if there making rusto paint with alot more pressure or the caps shittyer but all the disks seem to blow out every time i use them lately

PINK DOTS!!!!!! aka can killers ok these are my favs cas im your normal kid who bombs and has the most ups in his city so when i do i want it to be big i mean when u get spray thats 3-4 fingers wide your onto somthing GREAT

also i found that belton stocker the gold caps with the black dots are fuckin nice n huge

randon caps off tire cleaner from home depo are ok theyfuckin sound like a hair dryer fo spay so bigg like litterly your fist and bigger and it droped liek fuck so its kinda nice if your useing shitty paint cas 3 skripts for a dollar that are sick n drippy is nice

lol i was just at an art store yesterday and they had belton paint...haha they were 9 dollars a can and krylon was 4 dollars a can...even better was the name of the store 'Discount Art Supplies'

I usally get dollar cans because they are real cheap but my favorite paint is just krylon. I wanna use Montana and see how it gets up or belton. But fuck it paints paints. My tips i like to use or German fats, German Xtra things, and the wonderful N.Y Fattie

but i gotta say rusto is horrible for piecing. u know how on some cans when u first press down on the cap theres that delay where a tiny bit of air and paint squirt out befor the clean line? well rustos do that every single time u press the cap down. and iv tried replacing with new ny thin caps every 2 seconds and it still happens. also u can never find colors in anything but gloss and rustos on the back say 2-4 hours to dry. krylan sais 10-12 MINUTES and its true. montana spanish sais 4 minutes or less. and its true.

caps: i always use ny thins and rusto fats, im more of a piecer than a bomber and rusto fats are pretty thin.

overall.... krylon. it never has that delay, and its clean paint. but montana is the best. nothing will ever be better than montana.

i&#39;ve found that happens to me too. i just figured it to be me not cleaning my caps after sprays or just fucking caps up. usually ill just switch the cap and everything is better after that. plus, i only find that to happen with rusto and not painter&#39;s touch (cheap rusto) another reason why cheaper is better. but other than that rusto is great for the graff artist on a budget.

Or do you just mean a background for a piece?

In either case, yes you bring rollers, bucket paint, and an empty pizza box is good for holding the paint. Usually you just do the background for a piece with bucket paint, but fills can be done with it, i suppose.

Gold dots are one of the thinnist and pink dots are one of the fattest if not "the" for the both of them.
Can you re-use caps or switch them from can color to can color or do they get cloged inside with dry paint??????????????????????????

i bought some caps from a store they called them " bannana rustos" they look like german outlines but they&#39;re black with a yellow dot. is that what they are really called or what? because no one else has heard of them. but those are the best thin cap ive used, very clean and precise.

Mmmmm, Paint.

Yes it holds a special place in the graffers heart. I don&#39;t rack and I enjoy buying it - usually online at Graphotism.com.

As for brands don&#39;t really see Rusto or Kry over here... I prefer Montana Gold, cause it&#39;s the best really, but I&#39;ve tried Belton as well. I found that belton is a bit of a chunkier valve system and stank a bit more like licorice wire, or something.

Problem with Monty Gold is that they prefer their own Caps and tend to just sputter when it&#39;s a normal German, etc. I guess it makes Montana marketing happy but it&#39;s a bit of a pain for the humble bomber...

epsr most caps work on rusto but u got to make sure u use the stock cap first to let some of the pressure out cas blew about 5 disks painting trains with rusto one day same shit happened to one of my boys when he was tryin to do a roof top but most caps work on rusto just the gold dots clogg really easy on them

Paint is fucking paint. You can be a wack writer and throw up a wack piece with the best paint out there. Or u can be dope and throw up a burner with 99 cent paint. Some paint just comes out a little better and is brighter and bolder. And some people just like the presure some paint gives.

yo a while ago i tried putting a cap on a different can (i didnt know what the hell i was doing, this was my first night with spraypaint, well anyway) we put a cap on a different can then the can started to spray paint without a cap and just didnt stop so i threw it and we put it on top of a hydrant. lol now WHY THE HELL WAS THAT I DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

"1 Tools. You will need an X-acto knife with a SHARP blade, a lighter of some sort, and a lid off of your favorite spray can (Krylon lids work well).

2 You will start by cutting out the middle of the lid. This tube is what actually SNAPS to the spray can and holds the lid on.

3 Discard the rest of the lid and this is what you end up with. You will use this to construct your stencil cap.

4 Now, carefully cut out the “finger hole” as shown. It’s more of a square shape that goes down the side of the tube, as well as on the top. Remember to keep a strip of plastic at the bottom of the tube or else your finished cap will not SNAP onto the can, thus it will not work.

5 Using the tip of your X-acto blade as a drill, bore a small “spray hole” on the opposite side of your finger hole. This hole should be approximately in the middle of the tube. The SIZE of the whole determines the effect you get – so play around with a couple different caps. You can also try different shape holes, and multi-hole stencils&#33;

6 After you drill your spray hole, I recommend using your lighter to smooth it out a little. Just heat it up quickly, and pay attention to the melting plastic.

Here’s the good news&#33; Stencil caps work nicely with Krylon STOCK TIPS. Place your stencil cap onto the can as shown.

Now line up your tip with the spray hole, make sure you can get your finger in there, and HAVE FUN.

its actually very easy.
except, i just used a lighter to do the 4th step, takes a while longer, but theres no risk of me fucking cutting myself with an exacto blade.

they are used for making thin thin lines. only use when absolutely necessary.
an example of when they were using them, was when dritz at 416 expo was painting the backround of the new hsa production. if you dont know what im talking about, go check out the 416 expo flicks, then look for the hsa production.

MyTagsASpanishWord - alright quick piece like that you dont have to color it in fully like that. Just do the outline in your fill color. Spray back and forth quickly to create a zig-zag pattern for the fill-in. then do outline in different color than fill-in and bam&#33; you have a throwup&#33; What did you tag&#33; THR? you might have to change that....

it is TNR, short for Tener, which is my tag(which is a spanish word) but i just cant put in E&#39;s for my throw ups. Advice for con control. Just go fast. If you take your time then you risk dripping and no one wants an outlines that has drips (well unless they want it, now i dont make sense) But just find an alley that is hidden from the street and use that as your play ground before you start hitting buildings and getting up more.

rusto fats these used to be my fav but now i dont know if there making rusto paint with alot more pressure or the caps shittyer but all the disks seem to blow out every time i use them lately

but my real question is, when ur doing a fill w/ a fat cap, and but theres a skinny part that needs to be filled (2 small for the cap not to go over the outline) would i need to switch caps?

looking back that sounds a little confusing but i hope you know what i mean. if you dont, tell me and ill try to explain better.

put the can close to the wall and mave quick, you can still get a thin line with a fat, if its a throw, you shouldnt have so many small details
yeah caps will ast longer then your writing carrear, its just plastic, sure they may clog, but nothing a lil soak in thinner, a needle and some air wont fix, yeah you can swicth em while your doing your shit, just spray a lil, to get the prvious color out, when you go out bombing, take a few extra caps, even if there stocks, depending on the night, i can loose from no caps to about 5 , shit sucks , oh and test the caps on the paint before you go out, suck being at a spot about to drop one, and you find the cap dont fit, or its too small

any one have the same problem with the pink dot fat caps? when i use them with montana hardcore, after like 3 seconds its like "pfffffprrrrrrrrrrrrrt" and the paint is like fokin coming from everywhere underneath the cap, drippin all over the can, on my hand. I think the pressure is just too high. i&#39;m not a toy though but i usually paint with other fatcaps, but the paint dots are about the widest you can get.

they come with german fats, but at the store they gave me free german outlines too
their devil colors stock cap is a pink dot, its sick but the can is empty in no time.. even tho its a 500 ml can. they got this sick candy apple red too :D i think its called "Devil Codeak Purple Red". its really opaque and glossy

i dont know where to get real thin caps for outlines near where i live.. the germans are a bit too fat.

I soak my caps in paint thinner and it cleans them good then i rince them off with some club soda the bubbles cleans off any extra paint..... But I have so many caps that somtimes I just throw them out when they get to cloged...

haha thats only like -2 degrees celcius. try lettting them soak in paint thinner then clean them out with a needle then rinsethem out or buy new caps

Don&#39;t get me wrong I love all of the rusto brands theres four: Rusto, American Accents, Painters Touch and Americas Finest. Americas Finest has a dope 2 dollar orange called popsicle orange if you can find it. But i love Krylon too, you just have to find the good colors like watermelon, plum and purple gloss. And Krylon white and black give great clean lines. Also a personal favorite for me is a Krylon with a NY fat, you can rock some sweet hollows with that combo. So its really just skill when using paint and all paint has its purpose. Walmart Aluminum and Gold for life.

i love them stock tips. but if they get clogged, i use ny thins. i also like german outlines. but there is just something about those stock tips...

the Nos piece is alright, need some practice on the forcefield though, a different color than white for it would look much better, like sky blue or somethin, i like the rank piece, and the last ones charaks are nice

o yeah, the "N" in the Nos piece sorta looks like a H, it would look more like a N if you moved the top line of the N over to the right alittle bit more

Ehhhh presure isnt one of the things i would judge alot of my choices for rackable paint by man. Just shake your cans for literally a minute and a half, then do a throwup or a bomb and it comes out nice and painty with rusto or even some krylon. Rustos just thicker, but krylon satin is good due to the cap capabilitys with krylon.
American accents owns right now if you ask me though. Green apple and canyon black are fucking it.
Rusto professional cans are good to.
Montana is fucking great, but it costs money.

Apparantly, CraftCote from Kilz is pretty nice. It comes with a black dot and it&#39;s a good alternative to Krylon for the same price. It doesn&#39;t compare to Montana, but it&#39;s worth giving a shot.

i just got some of this, claims to spray at any angle, already posted it in some other thread. its like 3 bucks at walmart and seems to work well, but i have only used it once to test the opacity, which i like.

Yes pink dots fit on female cans, and the size of the spray from a pink dot will vary from can to can.

i use gold dots for outline and i use germans for some detail. but for fills and massive tags i have to say my montana level 5 caps. fatter then a pink dot and fill hella fast

those mtn lvl 5 caps are available on ebay sometimes. 9.00 for 25 or something like that. its a good deal. i got 6 for 2.00 at a headshop, with hardcore the lines are amazing. 2 inch to 12 inch flares, true story. they rape cans obviously, but its worth it. they work good on krylon too. the silver caps on Art primo are the mtn lvl 4 caps, and those are almost as big, still bigger than a pink dot.
and i think liquid crack sold them, but theyre going out of business so i doubt theyre gonna have them in stock still

there&#39;s nothing like rusto for the price. 2-5 dollars for a can i can deal with. and you can always rack a ton of it from Kmart or Walmart. Kmart has krylon though... for anyone that didnt know. when it comes to caps... it&#39;s all about the orange dots. THEY ARE FUCKING AMAZING.... not only is it a 3 finger line but it is actually really precise, so you get the best of both worlds... as for outlines..... there is no comparison... german outlines are amazing.... ohhhhh yeah.... here&#39;s a little tip... if you ever get your hands on a caligraphy cap.... turn the nozzle so that it sprays a vertical line... you do this because it makes it look like a shadow on the bottom of your tag....

there are like two shops in michigan that sell more than just caps.
one is in bay city i think, which is in the middle of nowhere and i think the other one is in ann arbor.
there used to be a hip hop shop in metro detroit area but idn if it closed or i just cant find it. and the place i used to buy caps kinda sucks, except 100 ny fats for 13.00 is pretty good deal.

Can tips.. Use Ny Fat tips for large areas, and I just use the ones that come with the can for smaller tips.. oh and any duplicolour cans can&#39;t take NY Fats..

I got the needle caps money.... dont waste your skrill. They are great for mixing colors, you know shooting one color can into another. But the line is no different than the german outline (#1). But it throws the shit up thick and no drips, even on wal mart cans. Its a give and take situation. I said it before I roll with only ny fats. If I want skinny I move faster, simple can control yall. Plus all my work is illegal, I have no use for special caps, I have no legal walls in south CO. But I hope that helps ya. The only specialty cap I really dig is the caligraphy cap for my throws, other than that ny fats boy.

home made needle caps = fav skinny
orange dot = fav get up and run cap
Rusto = best paint (never used belton or montana) KRYLON SUCKS and is only for toys

krylon is really good for cap flexibility, it works way better with euro caps and lines are much bigger with orange and pink dots. and works with the mtn lvl 4 and 5 caps.
i think needle caps are good for little bitty flares, kinda like gold dots are.
the only needle caps i use i make myself with tubes from wd40 type sprays and stock rustos with inserts pulled out.
krylon home decor latex is super thick pastel, really good for flares and fills and the cans are mad stealthy.
best fat caps are by fat pink dots unless you use OG rusto then obviously rusto fats.
you can make your own softcaps by pulling the inserts out of stock caps.
the caps that come on bix floor stripper and goof-off graffiti remover are great shooter caps for hitting things you cant reach, but theyre lines are disgusting and you have to move super fast even if you hold the can over a foot away from the wall.

the rusto industrial cans work good with ny fats. for some reason regular rustoleum cans always seem to leak with ny fats and most other caps.
painters touch is better with caps than regular rusto.

belton premium plus (600ml) and montana hardcore are both really good with fat caps, i can get 8inch wide lines with montana nitro, clean too.

when you use wallmart or homedepot paint for acouple years and then you buy some montana or some of the top quality paint there is no comparasin. i love montana and swear by it, it gets up so nice and the coverage is amazing. with some german fats or ny fats for fillin and some ny thins for outline. if u havent tryed the higher quality paint you should get right on that i promise u wont be dissapointed.

yes. almost all caps ever work on krylon.
alot of caps leak with rustoleum though, and you odnt get lines as big with the fat ones.
those caps are just shrouded so paint doesnt cause skin damage if it leaks and for comfort.
