graffiti is only graffiti if its illegal, so if you legalized "graffiti" it would no longer be graffiti. it would be "graffiti inspired art" or "aerosol art". it is impossable to legalize graffiti.

i&#39;ve used wheatpaste, but i find it cumbersome to carry around a bucket and wet brush throughout town. those were put up with Elmer&#39;s spray-on craft glue

that&#39;s actually a good idea. but the problem with wheat paste is, you can only keep it in the bucket (or marker) for so long. Once you&#39;re done for the night, you gotta dump it out and when you go out again you gotta make a new batch. The thickness of the paste depends on how much water you mix it with, but generally the thicker the stickier (words to live by). I&#39;ll try it out and let you know how it goes.

btw, im in third period networking now and im bored as hell.

Iceberg Off Western Greenland Painted Red

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) -- Off the coast of western Greenland, in an area saturated by slow-moving ice floes and white icebergs, the blood red one stands out by design.

"We all have a need to decorate Mother Nature because it belongs to all us," Chilean-born Danish artist Marco Evaristti said Thursday. "This is my iceberg; it belongs to me."

On Wednesday, he used 3,000 liters (780 gallons) of paint diluted with sea water, three fire hoses, two icebreakers and a 20-man crew to spray the chunk of ice floating in the water.

The sea water was colored with the same dye used to highlight meat, Evaristti told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Ilullissat, Greenland.

Evaristti and his crew sailed from the small town and zigzagged among icebergs for about 30 minutes before they found the perfect frozen canvas.

Facing temperatures of minus 23 degrees C (minus 9 degrees F), it took about two hours for the 40-year-old artist to paint the exposed tip of the iceberg, which was about 900 square meters (1,080 square yards) in size.

Ilullissat, which means icebergs in Greenlandic, is a tourist destination because of its scenery.

The town of 4,000 residents sits at the mouth of the 40-kilometer-long (25 mile-long) and nearly 8-kilometer wide (5 mile-wide) Kangia fjord which is filled with hundreds of icebergs of different sizes spawned by glacial ice sheets.

The painted iceberg floats in an area where the fjord is up to 300 meters (990 feet) deep.

There was no immediate reaction from Greenland authorities about the art work. Greenlanders are generally very protective about their unspoiled environment.

Evaristti drew widespread attention - and disdain - when he displayed 10 working blenders filled with goldfish in a Danish gallery in 2000.

He invited guests to turn the devices on and someone did, grinding up a pair of goldfish.

The gallery director was tried on charges of animal cruelty, but acquitted.

i agree with the generic comment, if it was just the skull it would be pimp but squares are lame.

hey bez, nicely designed stickers. looks nearly professional. just on the skull one you need the pattern to be less busy, it distracts the eye from the skull, which should be the focus. the way it is, the pattern is actually dominant (to me). id suggest taking away the outside circle of squares.

did that as part of a colour and 2d design project. source material was a koran page from 17th century, and "knotted" kufic script. thought maybe it would make an unusual and interesting thing to wheat paste around. obviously i only actually illustrated one quarter of it myself, and completed the pattern on the computer. i drew it all by hand (Tracing is for pussies :lol: ) and then inked it crisply. i also did a coloured version that turned out pretty stunningly, but its been submitted so ill post it whenever i get it back. too bad it isnt practical to wheat paste colour copies :(

edit: in fact, my pattern turned out very different from the source material. really only the inside geometric design was copied, the rest was improvised. ill post the source material here just out of interest, im not sure if everyone knows just how fucking DOPE middle eastern handstyles and illustrations are......and these guys go back 1000+ years. true oldschool :ph34r:

actually he just jacked it from them and changed the eyes. could be considered biting but i dont think the same rules apply. so many people use famous imagery in their street art. its part of what makes it fun. like i said hes not "in the scene" he just wanted to do something while the rest of us were painting or whatever.
