notice when they post the stickers they say "just made" or "new batch for trade" then they go out and stick them up...i dont think they are going to carry a camera around and flick every sticker they post up...

A lot of people don't understand Andy Warhol. Warhol never took his art seriously. He saw that people were buying into what he meant to be taken as irony. His painting of a can of soup was supposed to say "Watch this, I can paint this everyday object that's absolutely nothing special, and I'll bet my ass that if I present and market this as a brilliant work of art, you idiots in the scene will believe it's art and make me a billionare!" and it did exactly that. What Andy did was make suckers out of the entire art community. THAT was the genius behind Andy Warhol. His entire following in the 60s was a group of suckers that he ingeniously duped. It wasn't until his death that people began to realize that, and now Warhol is appreciated for entirely different reasons than he was in the 60s.

Salvador Dali did the same thing, but due to an over-active ego and mental illnesses, he sadly began to believe his own hype.

Surrealism, avant garde, and early abstraction all started as a way to mock the art community and irony was a central theme, but as the movement progressed, the irony and humor in the art form was lost, and the people who were being duped started becoming artists and taking themselves seriously, and that's how today, people see a painting of a big red dot and call it art, when this time, it's not even supposed to be ironic.

I'm reminded of an episode of Frasier that reflects this attitude, when they mention the painted I referred to.

Marty: "Oh, come on, you and your brother spent an hour ogling a painting of a huge red dot!"
Frasier: "Ah, but Dad, there is simple, and there is DECEPTIVELY simple..."

Frasier's character represents what is wrong with the art world today. Okay, I'm done my rant.

I was quite polite in the way i asked my question so dont get so high and mighty. And it was still more interesting seeing them up. You dont have to flick EVERY sticker obviously, just maybe the good ones. And im not intersted in how wicked crazy it was to put some sticker up in daytime either. I think i big part of how a sticker looks, or any graffiti for that matter, is how it is presented with its surroundings. My comment, since you had it wrong, was that i think it is lame seeing the SAME stickers on the floor of your house over and over.
