Time Spent Sketching Each Day?

Sittin here finishing my sketch of the day, wondering who else spends as much time as i do reworking their styles..I probably spend 2-4 hours a day easy sketchin... what about you guys?

complete newb here (for taging at least, would like to think myself an artist though). I spent total 3-4 hours on average a day. this inculding random notebook sketches and tags, and then adding the good sketches that i actually bought a sketch book for.

(dot dot dot) i dont personally have a scanner but i think i could find someone with one so i'll try n show you guys some of my random stuff..

theres not as many toys as you think, theres just mostly assholes who call people toys because they asked a simple question, like in this thread, and just about all the others.
i spend about a half hour sketching a day...i mostly try to get more throw up styles because the same thing over and over gets boring, but yeah, half n hour a day some days, and sometimes none, i have been having alot of other stuff to do lately...i used to be like law and spend 4 hours or so on sketching, because i wanted to get my skills up before i hit the streets...which really helped out because now ive been writing for a little bit more than a year and i feel like my work is o.k. compared to other peoples...................

I'd have to guess... about 438 hours a year, thats about 1.2 hours a day. i dont really find myself sketching, or painting for that matter, on any sort of regular basis... sometimes I'll go a few days sketching like 6 hours a day, sometimes I'll sketch maybe only 4-5 hours over the course of a couple weeks... lately i find myself filling up pieces of paper with random outlines, sometimes i'm more focused on coloring... never really thought about it all at once until now

Been drawing my whole life.
Starting sketching about 5 years ago but did it more for fun than development.
Started PROPERLY sketching potential stuff for the streets about 1.5 years ago.
At first it was rampant - 3-4 hours a day but now it's only when I pick up the book and the result isn't shit that I consider it a sketch.
I find that IF you really challenge yourself to create something really new - in terms of all you've done and seen before - it is very tough to come upp with something you're proud of. In the end it's more rewarding than doing some STYLE WARS bite and pretending it's your own.
Just My opinion.

Personally I sketch all the time.... during classes and whatnot..
But I cant say I do daily sketches because they're all incomplete.
When I actually get into the frame of mind to do a "good" sketch I sit around all day perfecting it as I'm never really satisfied with my own work as I'm sure most of you will agree. One of those days could vary anywhere between 3-8 hours (including sketching time during school) however its hard for me to get in the mood to sketch. I'd rather get out and bomb or get out and do rollers. <_<

It really depends on what I have durring school, I have 2 days, they alternate I have English,Science,Auto and English Ex one day(The day I don't get a chance to sketch much in school) and Gym, Math, Advertiseing Art and Social Studies(The day I have to most time to sketch in school) My periods are about an hour and 30 mins long. The day I dont get much done is because either the teacher for that particular class is a bitch or theres just alot of work, I get maybe an hour done in school that day and another hour at home. On the day that I get alot of time to sketch I get maybe 3 hours in school and another hour-2 hours at home. Thats durring the week. On the weekend is when I put most of the shit i've done durring the week to action, over saturday and sunday I might do 1 hour, 2 at most done.

I agree, some of my best sketches were in the wee hours of the morning, but i was on some kind of drug everytime so i guess it dosent count :lol: .... Now i spend prabably about an hour each day on sketches so it takes me a while to finish my peices.... i just got to much shit to do :angry:
