Please don't use egg boxes though.

Actually, I don't care what you do.

i helped my friend make one and we used egg crate and apple boards, egg crates like for beds but the apple boards from kroger... also though if you got a little cash go to a music or home entertainment store and ask about acoustic tiling... my friends dad has a basement studio and it sounds ten times better than my friends mic booth

Carpet underlay for the win
go to your local carpe shop and ask for some offcuts

you can hear people but they didnt do a very good job

goto mc donalds and get a ton of the drink holders
hahaha. for real it does work
Line it with a blanket, or eggshell, or acoustic foam.

this is a coincidence, cause right now i'm doing the exact same thing.
i'm using egg crate foam. like the lil mattress pads, you know.
i have yet to finish covering the walls. so i dont know how it will sound.

we used mattresses one time, it makes the room smaller but it works very well.

i've got a studio in my basement and we just use acoustic foam and hang woven blankets about 1/2"-1" away from the wall. works magic.

and what the fuck is with all these spammers?
