I notice how everyone who is just starting to get into hip hop listens to people like Talib and Mos Def, then they slowly progress further and further into the underground relm.

My bro used to play NWA, 2pac, biggie everything that was mainstream in early to mid 90's and when I started listening what I consider hip hop it was black star, binary star, hieroglyphics. Fools would ask if I knew who Aceyalone was, or if I was going to the underground show firday night.

You meet some people who expose you to some crazy shit you've never heard before, you explore it and it just grows on you.

Real heads DONT segregate between mainstream and underground because they are one and the same. It's all Hip Hop, and they both came from the same place, so why differentiate? What's to say that someone with lyrical creativity is MORE Hip Hop than the next guy, who raps about jewlery and money? Rakim rapped about money, is he not Hip Hop? And since when was Mainstream rap ALL about material shit? I think Nas and JayZ, both considered mainstream artists, have more flow and style than most underground MC's (ie. No, I dont listen to Lil John. Yes, I do keep an open mind out for good Hip Hop, regardless of who considers it to be what subgenre of the music. No, I "is" not tryin to call him out for the fact that he's white, that was just a cheap crack.

And, no, i never said that Emcees who happen to go Mainstream retain their skills. I agree that most Emcees do start to waiver in terms of Lyrical ability when theyre pockets explode, but that still doesn't give the Underground any right to say what is real and what isn't.

The only difference between the two is Exposure. Most underground Emcees do want to Blow up. So which is 'real' Hip Hop? Is real Hip Hop lyrical ability? Not rapping about money and cars? No. The fact is, there is NO real Hip Hop. Like I said before, mainstream and underground are one in the same. The fact that most Mainstream Rappers were once underground proves it. and as a long time mf doom fan i have to say im VERY dissipointedout of 22 tracks theres only a few i can really jam out to or throw into a mix

usually mf doom's production is hook the hook on some spaced out jazzy raw hip hop beats but this one its more like lounge beats (which is good if your constantly high off some serious cronic)

most of them have him spitting on which hes always on point IF u like his style of emceeing

most tracks are under 3 mins which is wack but what ever out of a scale of 1- 10 i give it a 6.5 JUST because he did one of the rawest song wiht emcee Paul Barmen it a stright up all out upbeat silly song

It's archived in 3 different qualities, the best only goes back 5 days. Just select which day (Thu-whatever date), then start time 00:00(midnight), stop time 02:00.



By the way, our J-Zone interview went great, he's a good interview, we woke him up but he was still on point, during the interview, his grandmother, Evil-E, made him go downstairs cause he was being too loud on the phone! He also talked about the equipment he uses to make his beats.

when i went to the heiro show, del was SO fucked up, he was jus sittin on stage with his head between his legs, then when it was his turn to hit the mic, he'd stand up, spit his shit with little to no movement, then jus like sit down again

it was pretty jokes, he still ripped it so i wasnt dissapointed

but he didnt comeout after the show... the only guy that came out was Opio, he was jus standin there outside the venue chillin, i didnt go talk to him at first cause i figured he was gonna get rushed by fools tryin to get autographs an shit, but i guess noone relized it was him so eventually i walked over and started talkin to him he was pretty chillin

my buddy was bein a fuckin drunk ass dick tho jus bein a loud mouth asshole, he shouts out "OPIO!!! ILL FIGHT THIS KID RIGHT HERE IF U FREESTYLE FOR US, COME ON MAN DO IT DO IT BLAH BLAH BLAH" that pissed me off and i thought it was pretty fuckin disgracefull

but none the less opio was like "aight u aint gotta fight anyone......" an spit a free, it was pretty dope

yo im so glad some one finally said somthing about Kool Keith AKA dr octagon aka dr doom AKA black evlis , ect. he has an amazing style been around forever... the doc oct personality was the best, you could tell he was wacked out i think he actually wrote a few of the track in a mental institue i remember reading that on a interview.... kool keith and an amazing stage presence props to mother hiphop my brothah

well to be honest...I've been scratching nearly all my life...my brother showed me a tape when I was geez...probably like 5 of Afrika Bambaataa and GrandWizard Theodore and I swear from that moment on I was in love...I used to get in some shitttttttt for scratching up my dads records...

Yeah I have been spinning probably about 4 years...on my own, previously it was whenever I was around tables...I was robbed of my turntables awhile back and a grip of months back i got my setup back to where it should be...for awhile there i had the one tec deck to scratch on...haha
My roomate has some CD turntables...and I use them to sample...but otherwise I can't get into spinning cd's it doesn't feel right...I have a lust for vinyl.

As far as beats...I play on the homies Dr.Rhythm from time to time...a couple of other machines are fun nuff. as far as programs on the computer..I like Reason...maybe it's just cause thats the only program I understand and work with...well...that and fruity loops...but I don't mess with fruity loops much anymore...

just get a start pack from crutch feild for like 300 its best then once your good move on up to the 1200's if your tryin to stick with vinal...


as for kare i been fuckin with beats a lil over 4 years now and cutting only about 2

but production is a VERY expencise thing once u get into the equipment i have i say ruffly about atleast 7 g's in my lab hip hop and music is my life which is also a bad thing girls dotn like coming second to music.... trust me on that one.. and the fact i droped outta high school JUST to make beats travle and bombing also puts a hurtin on things
