Skylines as is are -not- street legal.

Motorex has to do a ridiculously long and expensive conversion process to make them street legal.

and NOW you have to find one yourself, have it shipped to their front door and then pay them the money for the conversion. They wont do all the work for you anymore.

So, you're looking at about 120 grand just for the car and conversion. Shipping to their door and then to yours is probably a few g's more.

Depending on the car, I'm almost certain you can import some cars as is and drive them. I know one person here drives a RHD Civic Type R, and another guy had a RHD Mini Cooper. A lot of it depends on the insurance company and if theres an american counterpart to the car you import.

I think you can only put liability on those kinds of cars though.


If I had the 120+ g's for an r34 skyline, I'd probably pay it. Just love the car.

Yes I know it's supposed to be the new skyline, but that car and driver link only calls it a Nissan GT-R. And way back when it was just a concept, it held the Infiniti name as the Infiniti GT-R. I wouldn't really call it the R35 Skyline GT-R.


Edit: No beef, by the way.. I just like talking and debating about cars.

And on a personal note, I don't think they should give it the Godzilla brand name anyway. It's using a V6 engine instead of an Inline 6, and the G35 Platform, apparently, instead of building off the old R34 Bodystyle. But it is a gorgeous car and wouldnt mind owning one at all.

Growing up my dad used to have a 1977 celica. he bought it brand new. it lasted him till 2001, and the only thing he replaced on the car over all those years was a carburetor and some wires.

Toyota automobiles last a long ass time and are really reliable.
unlike mitsubishi. my 1994 3000GT's engine fucked up 3 times, and the transmission fucked up Twice. spent a shit load of money on that car. Fuck mitsubishi.

Growing up my dad used to have a 1977 celica. he bought it brand new. it lasted him till 2001, and the only thing he replaced on the car over all those years was a carburetor and some wires.

Toyota automobiles last a long ass time and are really reliable.
unlike mitsubishi. my 1994 3000GT's engine fucked up 3 times, and the transmission fucked up Twice. spent a shit load of money on that car. Fuck mitsubishi.

- It's got a mean ass tape deck with no cover, that doesn't work because of dust build-up
- A little bit of green paint transfer because of a dumpster that ran into my sister while she was driving
- The interior is a little fucked up from dog vomit that never got cleaned up... It was nothing a blanket placed over top couldn't fix, though
